Nigerians are just greedy basstards, what cud av cost them to develop the immediate communities within which they were getting oil from? nothing. but instead they chose to milk dry the oil well and abandon the community then moving on to the next oil well. this attitude is typical of nigerians anyways. 1 Like |

evilapc: Address issues oga. Was it the north that advised Asari Dokubo to move his entire investment (made from militancy) to Republic of Benin? If the son of the soil who fought for the soil, deserted it after making it, why blame strangers ("the north". The problem of ND is with it leaders. Greed & Selfishness. What happened to all the 13 derivation allocation? What about Niger Delta Ministry? Even GEJ presidency was all to the benefits of his cohort. He wasted 7years and couldn't transform ND despite all the noise TAN. Aboki is no doubt not smart but smarter than ND. |

Guess what they did. Yup. They turned around and sold their employments. I know you guys would prefer to blame Notherners for dragging this country backwards But the truth is bitter. The northerners feed this nation. While some people keep yapping about our oyel |

In my own view, I think corruption, neglect, self-centredness(I and my family alone) heightened by gross indiscipline are all part of Nigeria and our leaders irrespective of tribe, region, religion or political party. We learnt the first coup by Kaduna 'Ezeogu' was since 1966 and the reason for the coup was corruption. I think those mentioning Jonathan only cited the example of how our leaders, including those of the past, handled the issue of the region as a result of selfishness and corruption. For instance, Senators and Reps have always come from that region, what have they been representing? it was a notherner that created the Ministry of Niger Delta out of concern, a southerner was there, he rather wiped out Odi, a community in the region. Alamiesegha rather carted away money meant for the place's development and later disguised like a woman. Few years back, oil companies and govt practically begged the youths to get educated to be employed into the oil companies around them rather than always setting up kangaroo shrines to claim money to be shared among the strong few(which was even the beginning of militancy), the youths were given consideration for employment in oil and oil related companies, including NNPC, Shell, Chevron, Exxon-Mobil, etc. Then there were scholarships here and there for them alone, I nearly claimed Ondo State while in the university to get such opportunity which was from year2 to your final year in whatever course. A neighbour from that area told me that it was a Town Crier that announced to them to come if they were ready to work in NNPC, and that was how he got his job 25years ago, interestingly he was the only one that showed interest in that community. So I think our problem in this country, including the Niger Delta, is more of psychological imbalance and poor mental ability. |

I took time to read all the comments before making mine. There is a lot of blaming going on and I am very happy to read those who were asking pertinent questions like what has the agencies put in place done, role of Federal, state and local govt done, communities leaders and youth role etc. I agree with those who suggested that if the agencies put in place to help ND are not working they should be scrapped. In as much as I agree I also want to say that it failed because there was corruption between those allocating the money and those receiving so there was no way there could be check and balances or accountability and that trickled down to the state, elders and youths. My question now is who are we to blame more for the neglect in N.D.? The F.G, The agencies, State government, Elders or Youths? Sincere answers, please. Not party affiliated, this is the only way we can gro |

Yes, free trade, they are trying to workout a modality that will enhance the free flow/effective movement of goods within Provinces. Hmmmm..
