Ekiti State Governor has directed that a 7-man committee be set up to finalize the resolution to collapse of the three factions of tailor Association in the state which engender unity.

The governor who yesterday resolved the long standing misunderstanding between the three factions in the state noted the association could only develop and get necessary support from the government if they speak with one voice.

After listening to the three sides, the governor, to the delight of everyone spelt out the faults of each factional chairman and appealed to all factions to operate under one umbrella.

He noted that the three factions will be amalgamated and executive positions shared among the factions while a memorandum of understanding that will accommodate all organs will be put in place.

According to him, two deputy chairmen will emerge from the other two factions while the predominant faction will produce the Chairman, saying decisions will be jointly taken by the three on issues affecting members.

The State helmsman also promised to give 100 sewing machines to the association with call to all tailors to get registered, promising to provide identity cards that will enable government identify genuine tailors.

Earlier, Chairmen of two of the three factions, Nigeria Society of Professional Tailors(NSPT) and Ekiti Progressive Tailors Association (EKPTA), Mr Jimoh Aderemi and Oluwadamisi Orimogunje highlighted issues that led to the crisis and promised to work together.

i noticed something else, must everything have an association? meat sellers, fish sellers, tailors, even beggars have an association, blind people too etc. please i want to ask of what importance are all these associations to the public.

Solve issues that affect the people, whether it is politics or not SOLVE it.

Not cutting pomo,flying akara, licing veg, eating in buka,or riding okada along the street.

..this "gentleman" continues to debase (21st century) governance.

This is what Governance should be all about, Communicating with the masses directly to solve their problems and not sit in big offices while the people that voted you in perish.

u are right to some extent, but u people make it seem as if Ayodele Fayose is the only black sheep in Nigeria's politics. Though I don't like taking sides with any of them, but u guys should cut Fayose some slack.. #shalom

I've know him since way back 1998 in Ekiti. He was a UK returnee then and we all knew he was a 419.

At this rate, by the time he leaves Ekiti State, what will his legacy be? That he used to share rice and yam?
