Eh! I watched them o! I can't remember speed racer but I remember others: Super Ted and Spoty, I used to tear my exercise book to draw it then with its tail coat flying. I remember danger mouse, Voltron! the defender of the universe! G-force, Freakazoid, Terra Hawks, Ovid Video, Sesame Street, Spiderman and friends, Robin Hood, Hallo Hallo, Rent-a-ghost, Telematch, Dr Who, Frank Spencer series, The invincible man! These shows made TV ticked back then.

There is a difference between really watching a program with full understanding and viewing a program with zero understanding.
