Unfortunately Buhari has the worst economic team and loud mouthed ministers. How can a minister announce that the country is broke. Do you even know the effect of your utterances. Kemi Adeosun is totally unfit for this job. Amaechi and the other ministers should keep quiet on on whether economy broke or not. Buhari should release money into the system. You cannot make money if you don't release money. Good morning Guys
the man dey fear say them go thief money...buhati thinks Nigeria is like his family house where he can micro manage money...create structures that would ensure monies are rightly used for what they are/were planned for...

Now they still want to emulate the PDP by having an Economic team. Can't this APC do something differently with copying the past administration verbatim? So this people have no plans on how to move this nation forward except taking power from PDP

So the govt is finally admitting that they do not have the economic expertise to handle the problem and that their economic team has no clue on how to turn the country around, na wah, but at least its good to know they have accepted this and are asking for expert guidance. Rather than limit this to a few, they should have a proper full roundtable of Nigerian Economic and finance experts at home and in the diaspora who are are leaders in their fields and consult with them. Buhari should also consider restructuring his entire economic/finance team as its very clear they are not very competent to handle our economic and financial problems cos if he doesn't, even if our Nigerian experts proffer solutions, if the economic team do not understand how to implement these solutions then it will all be an exercise in futility.

After crashing the economy with their foolishness and stupidity they are now running from pillar to post . This is what they should have done in the first place but instead they placed paparazzi picture taking and selfies above seeking economic solutions from well qualified and experienced economist. There is virtually very little anyone can do now to stop the recession, the focus now should be on how to get out of it fast.

I thought they said anyone manage the economy? They brought all sorts of characters to manage Nigeria's economy. Thinking managing the economy is merely about sharing monthly allocation and oil money. After irreparable damages have been wrecked they finally know it makes sense to get experts?

Illiteracy is indeed a curse! grin grin

I pity you, do nigeria think diversification is a day job. What do you know about economy.

Every Oil producing countries are expressing economy recession including Nigeria.

My fear is that PMB didn't summon this meeting. No member of PMB's kitchen cabinet was present at the meeting.

PMB doesn't listen to advisers and members of his kitchen cabinet that he listens to were not there.

This is just Osibanjo trying his best. Osibanjo will of course send minutes of the meeting and suggestions of the professionals to PMB. I'll be suprised if PMB reads the 1st page of the recommendations.

This as far as I am concerned is exercise in futility.

When we kept drumming it to the heads of these dunces that Buhari's appointments have NOTHING to do with merit and qualifications but are based on 3 factors - Tribalism, Nepotism and Cronyism - they went haywire with the usual empty, hackneyed recitation, "I don't care where Baba picks his people from, as long as they PERFORM".
Well, there you have it.
Playtime is finally over, and the grim, depressing reality that these "technocrats" were actually UNQUALIFIED to handle these posts has finally come home.

See, you can never win with nepotism or cronyism. The fates will not allow you. One way or another, your intellectual emptiness will be laid bare for all to see.

When you replace a Barth Nnaji with a Fashola, an Adesina with an Audu Ogbeh, an Okonjo-Iweala with an Adeosun, an Emeka Mba with an 83-year old Durojaiye and a Mobolaji Johnson with a glove-wearing clown; then trust me you have already staged your own epic failure.

This man was running a team of economic illiterates and high-powered dimwits all along, but you piled excuse after excuse to defend the blunders.

Now they're out of ideas and are finally looking for 'experts'...
Wait... You mean these clowns were mere 'office holders' all this while?

Our economy is not in recession if we should adhere to its meaning and symptoms. Recession can not set in when there is Inflation. I believe that the disposable income has seriously diminished but how about the rising prices of everything in the market. What I understand about this is that the evil we committed overtime thinking that we defile every economic theory has come to haunt us. Traders sell for the rich, who nothing cost much to them. The masses have followed them to keep up with the jonses, but now, where u see the money? Inflation and recession are opposite poles. To me, Nigeria is down, if not dead. What a country. You can not run Nigeria as if you are running a family business. You don't cut cost at this point in time. You engage in large capital expenditures to free that naira. Dollar rate is the root cause of this problem. I wish fiscal and monetary offices can join hand and take us back to 2014. We need to reverse this one year.

"According to a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Laolu Akande, the Vice-President was said to have at the closed door session expressed President Muhammadu Buhari’s determination to continuously consider and adopt policies that would boost business, increase employment and provide succour to the poor and disadvantaged"

I can't believe that APC led government is seeking for advice on how to :

1....... Boost business in Nigeria: How then did they arrive at 1Naira to 1USD.? Does it mean that, there was no paper work then before their promise.

2 ..... Increase employment.. How about the "plan" to create 10,000 jobs and N5000 stipends? . no plan too? Just a campaign stage talk?

3...... Provide succour to the poor... Does it mean that, there was no economic indicators considered before promising "operation feed the pupils".

Follow Nigerians, it very clear now, that these people didn't have any plan to govern the country.

But my worry is, why would any sensible person be seeking for a post for 12 years, and when he got it Buhari is.....

I watched on Aljazeera yesterday, how Obama was engaging the press in DC on issues bordering on Trans Pacific Partnership with Asia.

This is a man whose govt will 'wind down' in November, yet he's still actively working

Now PMB has stopped travelling since his ear issue - maybe it's a medical advice, but he has been so inactive

So many discordant tune were coming from his govt..why since the man in charge is quiet

D issue in NASS today was caused by him

D ball is in his courts but he's not doing anything with it

He's govt is not seen commissioning d beginning of projects

All we keep hearing is 'PMB will'...when will we hear 'PMB has' or 'PMB is doing so so so'

This is so terrible

Our leaders of the past has led us to this inconclusive president

why are you so insincere? You haven't told us what these people you just mentioned contributed when crude oil sold high! If they had performed so well as you would want us to believe, why are we starting everything afresh? Where is the infrastructure they used their competence to build? Who can't manage it when crude oil price was above budget benchmark? What extra ingenuity did they bring in apart from theft?

Abegi swerve go one side
Bart Nnaji left government in 2012
Adeshina got a higher job at ADB
Sebi you all keep shouting we should give other people chance and people who have been ruling since should give chance so why would you now be pained that NOI who served OBj and Gej is changed After all if NOI is good enough shouldn't she have taken Nigeria out of our economic woes by now? What she wasn't able to do all these years she now know how to do it when crude has crashed from over 100dollar per barrel to barely 40dollar per barrel.
Use your brains when making these arguments and know that we know more than you and we don't argue with bigoted and biased mind . Nonsense
