I did say immediately after the election results were announced that, the best days of the APC were over. Now that the rubber has hit the road, the only thing I perceive is the pungent smell of deep seated frustration....so much so that when you organise a 'TOWN HALL' meet you invite only your friends, your pals, your clique, your gang.....your type. Just take a look at the cross section of the invitees. Are these the folks to ask any meaningful question, demand any meaningful advancement, acknowledge genuine change from the status quo....

It is bad when one deceives others. It is shocking, appalling when one deceives himself....Friends, I am not optimistic these folks have the ideas to take us out of this pungent pit of an economy, but I am angry those who have the keys are not represented in that 'Town Hall' in Abuja city centre....such is the paradox of Nigeria.

How will all these talks give me that NUC job have always wanted to get!!!! And what did Ngige say on the NUC recruitment that was Recently placed on a halt??

Failed ministers.

I expect all the 'town halling' (permit me) they do is not wasted (because they are, they should be very busy men and women ministers) on defending and explaining (an attempt to bridge the disconnect between government and the people) but to engage the productive muscles of the body Nigeria.

The keyword here is engage. Let me give very specific examples:

Fashola is saying work resumes on highways. Me in the crowd (and we know my type will never get a seat. I don't wear a suit, have a CFR or OON or wear a royal turban) asks:

Oga Minister. How much are you spending on that highway. How much local content do we have in that project to guard against scarce capital & fx flight through materials, men and equipment. Why can't our public works be handled by direct mass labour to create jobs and transfer technology since these multinational contractors are by and large NOT INVESTORS, but net consumers of resources. And on and on. I am not even talking about engaging those who have the potential to create wealth, the middle class, small businesses. These should be the priorities of Town Halls, of a progressive government.
