MutantMetahuman: You just don't understand Shymex..he is as yoruba as you are or even more but he is just not pleased to see where Ibadan is in the league of states in this 21st century.Even Lagos should be gasping to catch up with the former regional capital of the West if the Awolowo masterplan had been vigorously pursued but the dearth of good leadership had almost strangled the positive potential of the state... |

Ritchiee:yes we know... Ibadan supposed to be ahead of Lagos by now if it continued with the tempo of development it started with.. But things have really changed in the last 15-20 years.. saying ibadan is an embarrassment to yoruba like that psychotic troll said shows he is just an ignorant douchebag that doesn't deserve a minute of attention.. You can only understand if you are here. 1 Like |

DropShot: You're celebrating backwardness.Look at the 2nd graph and see Ibadan's population grew 60% while incomes only grew about 5% meaning more poverty, more slums, more inequalities and more crime in Ibadan. Meanwhile a city like Nairobi saw its income grow far above its population increase- thats the kind of growth thats worth celebrating. |

I don't really know where euromonitor lady is getting her stats from, she must be pulling them all from thin air. How exactly is Ibadan growing faster than Eastern cities, what criteria did she use to arrive at this bogus claim? She must be smoking kwale weed. Meanwhile, here is a list of resilient cities all over the world, only Enugu made it in Nigeria! Now how cool is that? http://www.100resilientcities.org/cities 2 Likes |

Moreover the euromonitor was talking about fastest growing cities in terms of consumer spending, not necessary fastest growing in terms of infrastructures or better city standards, yet Brown roofers turned it on its head to read it as fastest growing, without stating that it's about fastest growing in consumers spending power and nothing more. Is this how desperate these people are? And to make it worst, they started dragging SE into their mediocrity But even at that, does Ibadan as city have higher consumer spending power than Eastern cities like Onitsha, Enugu, and Aba? Well, one way of looking at the consumer spending power is looking at the rate of cash flow in the system, and in this regard, Oyo the state Ibadan is found in trails behind Anambra- Onitsha and Enugu- Enugu, so pray tell, how exactly did this euromonitor woman manufacture her stats that these Yorubas are jumping and tripping over? 2 Likes |

How exactly can Ibadan have more consumer spending power than Enugu and Onitsha, when both cities have more money flowing in them than Ibadan, even though they both have lesser populations? The woman that made the Euromonitor analysis needs a brain transplant Surgery ASAP. 1 Like |

pazienza: Spending in this case is likely spending via electronic means which might have been monitored via south west bank or even a monitoring agent in the mentioned cities as against the raw cash spending which the Lagos , Abuja Port Harcout, Kano, Onitsha and Aba top according to the CBN |

asorocker: Whatever means they employed in their assessment, fact still remains that both Enugu and Anambra states have more spending power than Oyo state, even though they have lesser population than Oyo, which even makes their feat more impressive. The report is flawed in every way you look at it, and cannot be taken serious. |
