Kolarov Does Not See A Problem Extending His Stay At The Etihad

Kolarov is one of the key players of Manchester City's success since Guardiola arrived at the Etihad. He played some games as a central defender and his dominant style drew praise from the City manager. Kolarov is open to extend his stay at the Etihad if he gets the opportunity.

Kolarov played a big part in Manchester City having an impressive defensive record so far and Pep Guardiola said he is happy to keep the brilliant defender at his club. Kolarov's contract runs out in 2018 and negotiations to keep him at the club will soon start.

Manchester Evening News reported that Manchester City defender, Aleksandar Kolarov said he would gladly sign a new deal at the club and extend his stay at the Etihad.

Kolarov was a player who drew criticisms for his poor performances last season but he looks a new player under Pep Guardiola. His brilliant skills and quick decisions to pass the ball early makes him a key ingredient of Manchester City's success so far.

Kolarov is one of the Etihad heroes and his unquestionable loyalty makes him a good servant of the club. For seven years, he worked hard for the club and his ability to adapt to the philosophy of the manager makes him priceless. He looks top quality in his new role and if Kolarov keeps playing well, Guardiola will keep him at the club.

Guardiola Brought The Steel And Silk To City

Manchester City's attacking play and possession-heavy style drew praises from fans and pundits. The one hundred percent start this season shows this is a special team that wants to show they have what it takes to become an elite in the game. The strength and discipline of the team went unnoticed by a lot of people.

The attacking flair, creative build-up plays and brilliant finishing gets the applause. The defensive plays and defenders endurance gets overlooked.

Manchester Evening News reported that Pep Guardiola toughened up the players and instilled his famous attacking philosophy.

The sensational displays of Manchester City on the pitch deserves the praise it gets. This is a time, fans look forward to seeing the team playing brilliantly when City is on the pitch. The goal scoring form also deserves credit. Players like Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Nolito, Kelechi Iheanacho and Kevin De Bruyne have excelled in the famous attacking play of Guardiola.

Players like John Stones, Aleksandar Kolarov, Nicolas Otamendi, Bacary Sagna, Pablo Zabaleta and Gael Clichy have played brilliantly too. They work hard to prevent teams launching counter attacks on us when we lose the ball.

We press high and commit a lot of players while attacking. These defensive players soak the pressure when we lose the ball until they get support from the attacking players that track back. The work of these defensive players deserve as much praises as the attacking players.

Nicolas Otamendi and Aleksandar Kolarov showed endurance in the Manchester derby. Kolarov lost a tooth and Otamendi had a cut on his head. They kept playing and helped the team win.

These players showed they can go through pains to make the team win. Guardiola got the team playing well with his attacking and possession heavy style. He also deserves praise for making the players tougher and bringing steel to the team.

There Is More To Sterling Than Speed

Raheem Sterling was a player who attracted criticisms for his poor performances for Manchester City and England. Since Pep Guardiola took over City, Sterling transformed into one of the strong forces of Manchester City. His brilliant movement to receive passes and his audacious runs makes him an ideal winger for the attacking style City plays.

Last season, Sterling did not play like the footballer Manchester City paid £44 million to bring from Liverpool. He was a shadow of the exciting player who pressed and took on players during his time at Liverpool. Guardiola's clear plan for Sterling to run at players worked in improving his performances.

According to Manchester Evening News, Brendan Rodgers feels Raheem Sterling is on track to become one of the world's top players.

Guardiola's confidence in the abilities of Raheem Sterling paid off. Sterling looks hungry for success and he works hard to make an impact on the field. He runs tirelessly on the pitch, whether City is with the ball or not. He presses the opponents when they try to keep possession and he tracks back to help the wingers deal with pressure from the wings. He runs in to space to stretch the opposition and creates room for the midfield players to make incisive passes.

Guardiola's clear terms of what he wants from the players makes Sterling's decision-making less complicated and brings out the best in him. Sterling plays with confidence, taking on players, making aggressive runs and finishing brilliantly.

With clear defined roles of what Sterling should do, Guardiola made Sterling focus on doing what he is good at. Making brilliant runs, taking on players and working hard to retrieve the ball.

He became an important player in Guardiola's tactical plans of the team playing brilliantly, keeping possession and attacking with pace. Sterling is also helps the team in pressing the opposition high up the pitch and winning the ball in a short time we lose it.

City's Focus Is On Three Points And Not Records

Manchester City can make it 11 consecutive wins this season, equalling Tottenham Hotspur's record for the best start to a season. Guardiola's interest is in winning the game and City putting up a brilliant display against Celtic.

Winning a game boosts the team's confidence for the next game. That is why focusing on the coming game is important and not records.

Manchester City faces an injured Celtic that lost 7-0 to Barcelona. They will come to the game with an aggressive approach and with the charged atmosphere of their roaring fans, City has a tough game in their hands. The record is not important. City's focus is on how they will conquer the challenges they will face from Celtic.

According to Manchester Evening News, Pep Guardiola dismissed the fact that Manchester City could equal their club record of 11 straight wins if they triumph at Celtic Park tomorrow night.

Manchester City played brilliantly in the playoff game against Steaua Bucharest and in the first Champions League Group C game against Gladbach. We did a lot of things right like knowing the key players of the oppositions and reducing their threats. We showed respect to how good these teams and approached the game cautiously. We played with high intensity, moving the ball quickly from the defence to the attack.

We need to continue this way because this is the Champions League. There is no room for errors and we are in a tough group with one of the fiercest teams in the game, Barcelona.

Celtic played passively against Barcelona, sitting back and allowing Barcelona control the game. They paid for it and they will approach this game differently. They will press with high intensity and try to stop City from keeping possession.

Our defending players have a big role to play today, helping the midfield keep possession and drawing the attacking players of Celtic out from their compact midfield set up. This will give our midfield players and forwards room to cause Celtic problems. We will not have Kevin De Bruyne to help deal with the tight defensive set up of Celtic. So our forward players and midfielders need to make use of the chances we will get.

Celtic will play bravely against Manchester City but City are ready to put up a good display against the Scottish side.

City Showed Steel In Celtic Battle

Celtic showed how aggressive they can play and their brilliant display against Manchester City showed that Manchester City are in a tough group. City needs to learn how to make electric starts in tough games. Celtic had a game plan of making things difficult for us. The Celtic players pressed Manchester City high up the pitch and forced the City players to make errors. Then they caused the defence problem with their quick attacking play.

The City players showed that they have the heart of winners because they did not give up, despite going behind three times in the game. Celtic fought a good fight but the City team showed character. On another occasion, they would lose the game but they left the pitch with their heads held high.

According to Manchester Evening News, Pep Guardiola warned his Manchester City players that, they must learn the lessons of their 3-3 draw with Celtic if they want to win the Champions League during his reign.

City players were brave in the game during the difficult game but they need to learn how to start aggressively as the Celtic players did. Even though City conceded some goals due to some defensive errors, we can not forget that the Cityzens scored three away goals in that game. This took hard work and patience. City pressed them also, made things difficult for them and got the reward of scoring three goals.

The players learnt from this game and we will see how the defence shapes up in the next game. Teams will want to play us the same way Celtic did but we will sort out the defensive errors that made Celtic score us three goals. The players understand that the Champions League is difficult, the team will attack but defend with caution in the next game.

It was sad conceding three goals and not winning. We still need to remember it took an amazing effort and character to prevent the team losing.

Guardiola Will Not Let Barcelona Distract His preparation for Tottenham

Manchester City's one hundred percent start came to an end in the thrilling battle against Celtic. Celtic put up an aggressive performance against the English Premier League leaders. Manchester City faces Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and Guardiola will not let the upcoming game against Barcelona distract his preparation for the Sunday game.

According to Manchester Evening News, Pep Guardiola insists he will not let the prospect of a return to Barcelona derail Manchester City’s 100 percent start to the Premier League season.

City expects a tough game against Barcelona. After the draw with Celtic, City needs a good performance against the Catalans. However, City's mind is on Tottenham. City takes it a game at a time. Tottenham Hotspur is a good side and Mauricio Pochettino is not a stranger to the philosophy and playing style of Guardiola.

As Espanyol's coach, Pochettino defeated Barcelona when Guardiola was the coach of the Catalans. Guardiola expects a tough challenge from Tottenham, his focus is on Tottenham Hotspur and not Barcelona.

City had a tough game against Celtic and they caused City problems at the back. While we recover from the high intensity game against Celtic, the coaching crew will work to fix the defensive errors. They will work on how the midfield will cope with the high pressing of Celtic because we expect the same from Tottenham Hotspur.

City Needs Toni Kroos

If there is any lesson City learnt from the game against Celtic, it is that teams that wants to have a go at them will press the midfield. If we lose control in the midfield, it is hard for us to keep possession and control the game.

Toni Kroos is a player who can help keep the ball under pressure. He is a player good at controlling the game and dictating play. Toni Kroos will make a great addition to City and Toni Kroos is a winner.

He was part of the dominating Bayern Munich team under Jupp Heynckes. He played under Guardiola and won multiple titles. He won two Champions League titles with Real Madrid and he will bring quality experience to the side.

According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will ‘go to war’ with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho to land the German midfield star.

Toni Kroos works hard off the ball and he helps the team press when they lose the ball. He is good at reading where the ball is going and helps intercept the ball.

We have good midfielders at Manchester City. Players like Fernandinho and Gundogan. We still need a player like Toni Kroos who will boost competition for the role and help the coach rotate his midfielders to keep the team fresh.

Toni Kroos is one of the best midfielders in the World and joining City will boost our chances of winning titles.

City Needs To Iron Out Their Mistakes

Manchester City scored three times to cancel the goals scored by Celtic in the Champions League game that ended their one hundred percent record. Celtic played well and put pressure on Manchester City. They forced the City midfielders and defenders to make errors. This was why the team went behind three times. If City cuts out their mistakes, they will remain a force in the English Premier League.

The fight back was impressive and the players gave their all so that they will not lose. Celtic tested the characters of the City players and they excelled. Manchester City needs to work in training to cut the mistakes made at Celtic Park as they prepare for Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Manchester Evening News, Fernandinho warned that Manchester City needs to cut out the mistakes before they face Tottenham in the top two clash on Sunday.

The conditions the City players faced at Celtic Park was tough and the players played well to bounce back from the goals conceded. Bouncing back once is a tough challenge but doing it three times in a game shows the strong character of the Manchester City squad. They showed they are strong in tough conditions and they are fighters.

City fell behind because of the mistakes made due to Celtic's intensity. City can cut the mistakes by working on our organised play in training. They need to continue with the way the team plays but work hard to move the ball fast under pressure.

City has good and technical players. Players that have shown quality since the season began. The Celtic game is gone and now Tottenham Hotspur is the team we are to face. Tottenham will come at us with intensity and our players need to stick to the game plan to see us through.

De Bruyne's Injury Not As Bad As First Thought

Kevin De Bruyne is one of the best players of Manchester City and his injury in the game against Swansea caused City fears. He limped off the pitch in the game against Swansea.

Kevin De Bruyne missed Manchester City's Champions League game against Swansea and City hopes he can make it back to the team for the Everton and Barcelona game.

Manchester Evening News reports that, Specialists in Barcelona confirmed that Kevin de Bruyne's hamstring injury is not as bad as first feared.

There is no confirmation if Kevin De Bruyne will play against Everton and Barcelona. Guardiola confirmed that the injuries are not as bad as first feared. This is good news because Kevin De Bruyne's brilliant runs and quick passes is key to the strength of Manchester City. City has players like Silva and Gundogan who can help fill the void created by Kevin De Bruyne's absence but City will miss his pace in the midfield.

City can cope without the Belgian midfielder but they need him back as soon as possible. Good news that his injury is not as bad as first feared. This means that Manchester City will not wait too long to have one of their key players back in the squad.

City Should Not Compromise Their Attacking Philosophy Against Tottenham

Manchester City face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and City expects Tottenham to try to hit them with counter attacks. Tottenham is good team with quality players, they can cause teams problems with their passing play and quality forward players.

City should not compromise their attacking philosophy after Celtic stopped Manchester City's one hundred percent start this season.

Manchester Evening News reports that, Pep Guardiola insists he won’t compromise his attacking instincts and attack is the best policy.

City left Celtic Park disappointed but they played well in the game. City created chances and came close to winning. If not some of the defensive mistakes, they could have come out of the game winners.

City should look at the chances they created and know the system works. City attackers and midfielders need to take the chances created.

If City cut the errors and take their chances, they can continue winning games. If City keeps attacking with intensity, the opposing team will not create enough chances to cause City problems. As long as City keeps the opposing team under pressure, our defenders and goalkeeper will play under less pressure.

City expects a thrilling game against Tottenham and they have a smart manager who is not a stranger to the philosophy of Guardiola. City needs to stick to their plan of controlling the game to cut Tottenham Hotspur's chances of hurting them. The City midfielders need to stay organised and work with the defence to keep possession.

Nairaland is about traffic. City traffic is not as big as the Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal traffic.

As we grow, they will put it. For now, it is the big games against the popular clubs that lands Manchester City on the front page.

Pochettino Is One Of The Best

Pochettino played against Guardiola when they were both at Spain. Pochettino represented Espanyol, while Guardiola played for Barcelona.

When they became managers, both of them encouraged their teams to press their opponents high up the pitch and attack with high intensity.

Guardiola had a good run at Barcelona were he had a six-month unbeaten run. Pochettino ended this run when he defeated Barcelona at the Camp Nou. It was a remarkable victory and showed signs that Mauricio Pochettino is a fantastic manager.

Pochettino continued setting up his teams to play the same way. When he was at Southampton, his pattern of play made players like Lalana, Schneiderlin and Luke Shaw wanted players by top clubs in England. Tottenham Hotspur signed Pochettino from Southampton and he led Tottenham Hotspur to finish third last season in the English Premier League.

Manchester Evening News reports that Pep Guardiola believes Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is one of the best managers in world football.

Mauricio Pochettino is doing wonderful work at Tottenham. He made a lot of bright young players regular at the club and he helped improve some of them. He makes the team play a brilliant attacking pattern and he keeps their defence solid.

His pattern allows his quality players who are brilliant on the ball to express themselves and when the team loses the ball, they are aggressive to retrieve it.

Manchester City will face a tough Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and Pochettino will hope to cause City problems. City knows they are going to face a tough team and will prepare for the tough battle.

City Has One Philosophy

Pep Guardiola won lots of titles as the coach of Bayern Munich and Barcelona. In these clubs, he stuck to his philosophy of possession-heavy and attacking football. Guardiola stamped his authority in both teams by making them stick to his philosophy. He was a success in both clubs and he hopes to do the same at Manchester City.

His philosophy of controlling the game and keeping the opponents under pressure works. We have seen it in the 11 games the club played this season. In the game against Celtic, even though City conceded three times, they still held on to possession and kept Celtic under pressure.

It takes patience and hard work from the players to carry out the task. It requires a lot of running and energy. The players need to believe in the philosophy before they can give their all to make it work.

Manchester Evening News reports that Manchester City Midfielder Ilkay Gundogan says the Manchester City squad is united in its faith in Pep Guardiola's philosophy.

City plays one way this season and it is the philosophy of Guardiola. Guardiola used this system to win lots of titles. He believed in it and got the players of the clubs he handled to believe in it. This helped the clubs succeed. At City, he is doing the same. The players saw how effective the system the coach wants the team to play is.

The wins raised the team's confidence to abide to the managers philosophy and the players will work hard to keep playing that way.

Guardiola Will Extend His Stay If City And Him Are Happy

Guardiola's impressive start after he took some big decisions at the Etihad showed he is a quality coach who knows the right steps to help the team improve. Guardiola will extend his contract if he feels the heads of the club, the fans and him are happy with the direction the club is going.

At Barcelona and Bayern Munich, Guardiola decided to go on the last year on his contract and he expects to do the same at Manchester City. At Barcelona, he did not have the same working relationship with Sandro Rossell, President of FC Barcelona as he did with Joan Laporta. At Bayern Munich, the players felt they wanted to play a different way from Guardiola. On both occasions, he left because he did not feel there was happiness between both sides.

Guardiola wants to coach other teams, so he does not see his job at the Etihad as his last but Guardiola could make his job at the Etihad his longest since he started coaching.

Manchester Evening News reports that, Pep Guardiola opened the door to extending his contract at Manchester City.

Guardiola feels happy at the Etihad, the players showed faith in adapting to his philosophy and those who run the club are happy with his approach. There is a chance the Spanish tactician might extend his contract at he Etihad because of the happy atmosphere around the Etihad.

Guardiola is motivating the players to improve as people and footballers. The players need to keep working hard and believing they are on the path to becoming some of the best footballers in the game. The heads of Manchester City need to support the manager when he makes bold the decisions to unite the team and make the team better.

With the massive support from the faithful Manchester City fans, we can expect the result and standing of Manchester City to improve. With the club heading in the right direction, Guardiola will extend his contract and continue the good work.

City Not Near Guardiola's Vision

Manchester City has an impressive one hundred percent start in the English Premier League. They have close to a perfect record in all games played this season. Guardiola likes the results but believes the team's performance can improve.

Six straight wins in the English Premier League and Guardiola believes the team is far from his vision. Guardiola wants close to a perfect performance in all games and believes City can do this with time. The players are working hard to understand what the manager wants and with time, they will understand it. They will also need time to become efficient playing the way the coach wants.

Manchester Evening News reports that, Pep Guardiola believes that at the start a new coach wins a lot of games. But, a coach needs more time to create something stable and more controlled.

City will become better in Guardiola's second and third year at the club. The players will have a clear understanding of the way he wants them to play. Their fitness will improve because of sticking to the dietary plans of the manager. The players will play with more efficiency because they played at a high intensity for long.

This will make the team improve year by year and the team will become a constant joy to watch. City is playing well, winning games but they are no where close to the vision Guardiola has for the team. He will need time to get the team to the level he wants.

City Players Must Keep Their Intensity

Manchester City came out of the thrilling match with Celtic without a loss. It was a tough game and Brendan Rodgers men made it difficult for City to play their possessive game. Celtic took the lead three times but the Cityzens showed fighting spirit. They replied three times.

The Celtic team worked tirelessly to make it difficult for City but the City players gave their all to prevent a loss. After the game, City players were too exhausted to talk. The exhaustion showed how hard the players will work to help the team succeed.

Manchester Evening News reports that, Pep Guardiola insists City players must keep that intensity to stay part of his plans.

FC Barcelona are successful because the players keep the intensity in their game for a long time. It is a difficult task but the Barcelona players believe in the philosophy. No matter the game, they show up ready to work hard for the team.

The City players should adopt this principle and keep the intensity we showed so far this season. The results show it is working and if they keep the intensity, the team can do great things.

Without the intensity, City can lose to their opponents. With the pressure on the opponents, it is difficult for them to cause City problems. With our controlled possessive play, we can create scoring chances.

Guardiola's style of play demands a lot from the players on and off the field. That is why the players need to abide to Guardiola's instructions of eating a healthy diet without junks. Less nightlife because the players need to rest well for the next training and games. The players need to make sacrifices in their private lives to help the team succeed.

If City keeps the intensity, the fans will know that the team gave their best to succeed.

City Lost To The Better Team Of The Afternoon

Manchester City lost their first match this season. They lost it to a Tottenham Hotspur team that showed fight and aggression. Tottenham Hotspur played like they wanted it and they got the reward of their collective effort.

The City players worked hard to give the team a better result but they could not deal with the aggressive play of the opposing team. City could not keep a composed performance against the pressing Tottenham Hotspur team and paid for some of the balls they gave away in dangerous places.

Manchester Evening News reports that, Pep Guardiola believes Manchester City lost to the better team after his side lost for the first time this season in a 2-0 defeat at Tottenham.

The better team won. Tottenham's aggressive play worked to their advantage. They won most of the balls in the air and they intercepted most of our build-up plays.

Tottenham Hotspur were the better opponent. City needs to go back and learn from the defeat. It is a long season and this game showed City are far from a finished project.

The City players fought hard and did their best to get something out of the game. Sometimes, things like things happens. What is important is that they did not give up and kept fighting.

City could not keep a composed performance against the pressing Tottenham Hotspur team and paid for some of the ball's they gave away in dangerous places.

City Players Are Not Invincible

Manchester City had a thrilling game with Tottenham Hotspur. It was an interesting game for the neutrals, it was a tough loss for the Manchester City fans and players. City players gave their best to help the team win but their best was not enough to stop the aggressive Tottenham Hotspur team.

Although Manchester City is on top of the table, the game against Tottenham Hotspur creates a realistic view of what to expect in the coming season. The team that works harder and plays better wins. Tottenham Hotspur were the better team and they deserved the win. There are other good teams in the league. Teams like Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. The league is competitive and the City players need to give their best to help the team succeed. They should expect their opponents to work hard to make things difficult for the team.

Manchester Evening News reports that, Pablo Zabaleta says that the defeat at Spurs has served as a “wake-up call” for Manchester City after too much talk about them being invincible.

Tottenham Hotspur did not make things easy for Manchester City and gave their best to stop the possession-heavy style Guardiola wanted his team to play. They were tough in their tackles and won most of the long balls. They pressed high and kept our defence under pressure. Tottenham Hotspur showed that Manchester City is a good team but they are not invincible.

The Manchester City players can not walk over every team but they can give their best in every game. They can hope their best is enough to help the team win. Winning all games is difficult and being better than every team City faces is impossible.

What City can do is to keep trying hard to play better than the team they face. City needs to try to control the game against every opponent and hope the results go in their favour.

City Needs To Fight For Bellerin

After the game against Tottenham Hotspur, many saw that our City hero and right-back, Pablo Zabaleta's time at the Etihad is coming to an end. The hard-working hero had trouble keeping up with the intense pressing game of the Tottenham Hotspur players.

Bacary Sagna played well in most of the games he participated in but he is above 30 years. Sagna might not cope with the intensity Guardiola wants the team to play with for a long time.

Hector Bellerin is a player who started his footballing journey at Barcelona and he trained to play in the way Guardiola wants. He has a lot of stamina to keep up with the demands of Guardiola's high pressing and quick build-up plays.

At Arsenal, the team plays with similar intensity as Manchester City and Bellerin is a key player of Arsenal. He is one of the best right-backs in the World and he will make a good addition to the Manchester City team.

Manchester Evening News reports that, Arsenal wants to offer Hector Bellerin a new five-year deal to ward off interest from Manchester City and Barcelona.

This should not stop Manchester City in their pursuit of the brilliant right-back. He is a player who will integrate into the Manchester City squad fast and he will bring in the quality we need in that place.

Mikel Arteta has a good relationship with Hector Bellerin. The youngster lived with Mikel Arteta when he arrived Arsenal. Arteta made it easy for Bellerin to blend with the Arsenal side and as one of the City coaches, Arteta can help lure Bellerin to City.

City should not give up their fight to bring Hector Bellerin to the Etihad because he has what it takes to become a City great.

City Will Learn From Tottenham Hotspur Defeat

Mauricio Pochettino set up his Tottenham Hotspur team to make it difficult for Manchester City players to control the game like they do. The Tottenham Hotspur players put City under heavy pressure and force City to make mistakes. Despite the defeat, City are not down and out. They are ready to learn from the defeat and improve their performances.

The City players put in a lot of effort into the game but Tottenham Hotspur were better and Pochettino got his tactics right. Guardiola has to work hard to sort out the defensive problems in the team after his defenders made mistakes that made it easier for Tottenham Hotspur to come out winners.

Manchester Evening News reports that, Bacary Sagna says that Manchester City are in a “dominant frame of mind” despite suffering their first defeat of the season.

The league is tough and we have seen how competitive the league is with the amount of upsets so far this season. With clubs improving their squad and managers, the competition in the league is tougher than ever.

We need to work on improving our game. The players need to learn how to stay at the right places under pressure and learn how to keep calm while passing the ball out from the back.

It was a good game from Tottenham Hotspur but we can learn from the defeat. If City learn from the defeat and cut the mistakes, they will become a better side.

Guardiola Will Find Answers To City's Slump

Celtic drew against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur's aggressive approach made City lose for the fist time this season. Those were bad results but it did not mean the team was weak.

In the game against Celtic, the team showed character and saved the team from losing the game. In the game against Tottenham Hotspur, even though we lost, the City players showed character to cause Tottenham problems. City created chances and could have equalised or won the game.

The pressing caused City problems, the City players cleared the ball from the back and did not rely much on the build-up plays Guardiola likes.

This does not mean managers found ways to break City or Guardiola down. From Guardiola's time at Barcelona to Bayern Munich, he came against teams that pressed him hard and tried to stop his sides from playing.

One of those games was against Mallorca, coached by Michael Laudrup. Mallorca caused Barcelona problems and it proved difficult for Barcelona to keep possession. In that game, Barcelona turned the game around and the defeated Mallorca 3-0. In Germany, there were many teams that pressed Manchester City hard and lost.

Tottenham Hotspur worked hard and the players were good that day but Guardiola is a coach who likes challenges and in many situations, he found solutions to tactical challenges.

In the game against Tottenham Hotspur, when he brought in Iheanacho, Sane and Gundogan, the team created chances. They caused Tottenham Hotspur problems with their fluid play and the team coped better with the pressing from Tottenham Hotspur's midfield players. That was a sign of how Guardiola can tweak the team and change the effect of the pressure of the opponents.

Playing Out From The Back Is Not City's Problem

Manchester City lost to Tottenham Hotspur in a thrilling football match. Mauricio Pochettino got his players to stop Manchester City from playing out of the back by man marking the City defenders and reducing the goalkeeper's options. It looks as if this was one of the problems that got Manchester City to lose but it was not.

The goalkeeper did not make errors in his short passes but the problem came from the lack of support from the midfield. Tottenham Hotspur pressed hard and our players were not well organised to help the team overcome the intense pressure of the Tottenham Hotspur players.

Guardiola's possession-heavy style is demanding and the Tottenham Hotspur players were better that day. They worked in a more organised way to make things difficult for City players. The City players put in hard work but with a more organised display, they could do better.

When the goalkeeper was with the ball, the Tottenham players marked defending players and reduced the passing option. The midfielders of Manchester City needed to drop deep to give Claudio Bravo more options to pass to.

Other teams might adopt Mauricio Pochettino's approach but our players need to work harder to meet the demands of Guardiola's possession-heavy style.

Teams like Bournemouth and Gladbach pressed Manchester City and made things difficult. We won those games because our players were more organised. They worked harder than their opponents and created options to make possession-heavy style work.

The City players need to keep working hard, stick to the philosophy and the results will come their way.
