This monarchs should be arrested by security agencies for hiding a renowned criminal called tompolo and that minister for petroleum that initiated this silly dialogue with economy terrorists should be sacked. The FG shouldn't negotiate with any silly group. Give them fire and brimstone and watch how the avengers or whatever they call themselves fall on their knees.

Why not lead the way and go and give them the fire and brimstone? It's easy to type from your phone while the country goes down in flames abi? Let's see how you survive just one day in the creeks.

Every nation should have every right to manage/control their resources. The central government is only oppressing the minority nations. How comes other region control their resources except Niger delta. My people will be liberated one day.

Other tribes kept salient in the fight for the survival of the Niger delta, it's only d Ijaws that's speaking out. As for d Itsekiri they are saboteurs in the Niger delta struggle

Ijaw does not fight for the interest of Niger delta. Ijaw are only interested in pipe lines vandalism

Did Asari fought for the survival of Niger delta or how to harvest money and build university in another country? Did Tompolo fought for Niger delta or to acquire wealth and made himself lord of the ijaw tribe? Who name one ijaw that has ever fought for Niger delta interest

[quote author=StCapital post=48795998]With due Respect, I state here categorically that our Traditional Rulers did not represent our interest, all the conditions they gave Federal Government are not only what we want, I suggest They should go back and include that Federal Government should start the Development of all Niger Delta Region as former president, late Musa Yar'Adua wanted to develop the Region before his death ,Starting with these States: Delta, Bayelsa, IMO ,Abia ,Cross River Akwa Ibom and Rivers ,Edo and Ondo States should follow later. Since FG is making plan to reconstruct the North East let them start the Niger Development at same time since it is same oil money they want to use and develop the North East.let me stop here.[/quote Are you sure you understand the write up? First conditions the federal government should constitute dialogue team. Meaning that is the first step for the whole issue. Did you hear?

Some comments here can be described as ' political terrorism. You dismiss all the conditions and meet non and yet expect peace and progress. The hon minister of petroleum seem to be a true ally of this government, even more committed than those privileged to have donated to the electioneering. Going by the kenekings of this platform, PMB may spend greater part of his term fighting to suppress constructive/ non- constructive agitators.

We all know it's only the Ijaws that are making the Federal government to sit up, though they might not b going about it in a right way. But the govt don't like dull people except u make noise that's d only language the government hears. U don't sit down to reap from were u didn't sow. Other tribes needs to voice their greviances. In the whole southern Nigeria it's only the Igbos and Ijaw that stand their grounds other tribes just hide in d shadow

People don't understand this administration at all.
Those conditions are void already

Keneking:
Nonsense meeting:

1. We wish to state here that as a matter of urgency the Federal Government should appoint/constitute a Federal Government dialogue team

- Not possible for now. Only when Dangote refinery is up and running. Can we renegotiate the 13% derivation you earn?

2. Release the 10 innocent school children arrested by the Nigerian Army on the 28th of May, 2016 in Oporoza and others in detention on trumped up charges.

- They shall be charged to court by the AGF. When are you handing over the rest that vandalised the pipelines recently for prosecution? Where is Tompolo sef?

3. Return the Golden Sword, being the symbol of authority in the Gbaramatu traditional institution.

- This is not recognised by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. What does the sword represent? What kingdom is Gbaramatu? Why does it deserve special status - when we have Lagos, Onitsha, Port Harcourt and Kano unrecognised?

4. Return the three traditional council speed boats in custody of the Nigerian Army;

- License has to be given by the Ministry of Transportation (Chibuike Amaechi to advice). What is the business of speed boats on inland waterways? Is it a fishing boat? Is for bunkering?

5. Cessation of hostilities perpetrated by the military in the Niger Delta region.

- Lt Gen Buratai to debrief in October 2016, after de-escalation of tension in the region post Independence day celebration. Not possible now.

6. The Federal Government should make a categorical statement about the opening of the Maritime University, Okerenkoko Delta State for academic activities in the 2016/2017 session.”

- Your son Chibuike Amaechi & Minister of Education to brief Cabinet at FEC in November after admissions into universities/montechnics for this session must have ended. Not possible for now.

Nonsense meeting and useless demands embarassed

Hopeless situation

Really? undecided Stop, chill small and draw some breath, FG can't fight everyone from these communities & expect unfettered and lasting peace...

How do you hope to gather intelligence in an environment where you have no single ALLY?
The Images cumulative Niger Delta Avengers have committed treasonous crimes They 've murdered sleep Should they sleep again? So these elders were there when those criminal elements were destroying our national assets unchecked I think they should be made to pay for their crimes, at least for two weeks of military operations, before their elders could come with the recipe for peace After all, they have missiles to confront the Nigerian Military with the backing of foreign forces Let them try their missiles They should read "The Crises" by Richard Nixon

SURPRISE AS NIGER DELTA MONARCHS CALL CRIMINALS INNOCENT SCHOOL CHILDREN

I wishes to draw the attention of all good and patriotic citizens of our dear country to the headline of a story in one of our national dailies titled “Niger Delta monarchs seek release of 10 pupils”. This is a great disservice to Nigeria by the monarchs concerned.
First of all, I must commend the Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, for his frankness when he hosted the Niger Delta monarchs who visited him in his Abuja office.

The Honourable Minister was forthright when he told the monarchs and the stakeholders point blankly that there was nothing on ground in Niger Delta to justify the $40 billion dollars released to the Niger Delta in the last 10 years, tasking the people to first solve governance and transparency issue in terms of spending money before the release of further fund.

The above notwithstanding, my main concern in this write-up is about the way and manner the monarchs were demanding for the release of the so-called 10 “innocent” school children arrested by the Army on May 28 in Oporoza. This demand is gross embarrassing and unbecoming of the highly placed monarchs who were supposed to be reverence for peace, discipline and high level patriotism. It is shameful that the monarchs are now dubbing criminals and economic saboteurs “innocent school children”.

Nigerians are not dull as not to remember the circumstances surrounding the arrest and concrete evidence against the “10 innocent school boys” by the troops of Operation DELTA SAFE. The monarchs may be required to tell Nigerians what the innocent “school boys were doing around 2:00am in the creek with dangerous weapons that included dynamites on the day they were arrested.

It seems the whole scenario in the Niger Delta is getting clearer. Notable traditional rulers seemed to be sponsors and brain behind the Niger Delta Avengers and similar militant groups. No wonder over $40 billion dollars went down the drain in the last 10 years and the monarch, rather than condemning the illegal diversion of money meant for development in the region for private use, are there protecting the criminals.

No wonder then none of them could reply the Hon Minister of Petroleum Resources when he asked about the where about of all the money released to the Niger Delta in the past. Seems the monarchs’ visit to Abuja is another orchestration geared towards smarting for another bomber “harvest” from the Federal Government, which this time around is not going to be the business as usual especially now that the criminals in the name of avengers are blowing pipelines for over 1,447 times in this period, lowering oil prices in the market.

Our candid advice is for the monarchs in the region to call their sons and daughters in the business of crimes to order and stop this double standard approach to Nigerian problems. Era of sharing money meant for developmental projects in the region to palaces is gone. Dubbing these criminal “innocent school children” is criminal, misleading and falseful. A spade should be called a spade. The arrested men are criminals and economy saboteurs.
The so called monarch should stop insulting sensibility of the Nigerian people.
