Understanding Engine Cholesterol- Castrol GTX And Your Engine by CastroLubeNg: 5:16pm On Aug 30, 2016
The Early Years

Castrol GTX was launched in 1968 in the UK market. The oil used the same new ‘liquid tungsten’ technology as ‘New Formula Castrol’ (launched two years earlier) and was billed as the ‘high performance motor oil’ suitable for every car under every condition of operation.
Engine cholesterol is a dark substance that builds up and clogs oil passages and important engine parts the same way cholesterol clogs a heart.

Severe driving conditions can all cause the build up of a thick, tar-like substance called sludge. These may be:

# Extended intervals between oil changes
# Low fuel quality
# Excessive heat and humidity
# Extensive idling or stop and go traffic
# Choosing the incorrect oil for your engine
# If untreated, sludge can rob an engine of power and, ultimately, its life.

The symptoms of sludge are:

#Higher fuel consumption
#Decreased engine power
#Engine overheating
#Low oil pressure

How does Castrol GTX work?

Severe driving conditions such as heavy traffic, poor fuel quality, harsh weather conditions and exceeding oil change intervals can all cause the build up of a thick tar-like substance called sludge. If untreated, it can rob an engine of power and ultimately its life.

How does the product solve these problems and why should you believe it does this better than the competition?

Castrol GTX Double Action formula helps extend the life of your engine. It cleans away old sludge, and protects against new sludge formation better than tough industry standards

The Castrol GTX oil range provides a balanced performance under all types of conditions. It is specially engineered to prevent the harmful build up of engine sludge, reducing oil deposits and providing everyday protection for your engine.

The Castrol GTX family of products provide proactive protection for the car you rely on. Our Castrol GTX technology helps extend engine life by preventing particles from building up in engines so they don't become bigger problems down the road.

Castrol GTX is one of the world’s most trusted engine oils. It's more than just oil. It’s liquid engineering that protects against problems, like sludge that your engine faces every day. You can’t see this sludge build-up but it can damage your engine’s performance and cause premature engine failure.

Castrol GTX has passed the API’s toughest sludge tests and is proven to provide 25% superior engine protection.

Look after your engine’s health and help extend its life with Castrol GTX.
