I don't understand how some people reason wen they are commenting on a certain issue, as if they do not go school because of sentiment, they never believe in this government. I think something is wrong with our Head.

Well you've said qiet the truth but telling me all these is meaningless with no valid proof to show. i totally agree to all your comment here which have read in most papers. I am not a fan of jona nor Buhari... all want is the best from any God sent Leader. Now tell me during jona regime we have corruption which was at a high standard and we the citizens know but so far everyone can met ends or still getting some little change. We ignore the corruption fact and the economy was not like this. Buhari came in with a different idea about corruption and other related activities. Tell me can corruption be eradicated completely?. what was his agenda when coming to power.. is it to stop corruption or find a way forward?.He stopped the importation of some goods to improve Local ones. Nice move but at what expense?.. To me he is not being truthful enough.A country that is having devaluation in currency subsides dollar for pilgrimage both muslims and Christians. Beware am a muslim. At a normal rate and leaving the business, marketers to buy dollar at an abnormal rate. Tell me is it subsiding dollar for pilgrimage that will solve our problems? . As a business man. , tell me with the ignorance of the leader to appreciate the local product our own.. what will you go for, importation or domestic product? . Be sincere.
How can you expect a businessman to venture into local product when we the citizens nd Leaders dont appreciate. Well everyone has his/her to play but the government should stop deceiving and telling Lies upon Lies..
Lets No where we are heading to, not telling us what hes doing. There should be sign . positivity. not hardship to the unbearable maximum.

I agree that this government did made some errors, but the commission of those errors are not strong enough to cause what we are facing right now.

Even if the government is perfect, we cannot avoid the present situation. The country have been badly position to go through the present woes already irrespective of who comes to power.

If you don't know where the government is going, it is because you chose to.Those who have chosen to stand by the truth instead of the deception being peddled by textbook economists and professors are in a better position to make the best of the situation and emerge at the other end of the tunnel better than those who choose to remain ignorant and negative.

Change takes time.Be patient. Think of what you too can contribute to the economy.

No nation can make progress if its citizens sits down, fold their arms and spend the whole day in negativity.

If you don't take action, action will take you.

Buhari needs to scrap tsa account it is one of d few causes why d recession hit. Hard.along wit other factors like global oil prices and poor govt policies

you are quite perceptive...

a lot of people just blame fall in oil prices (or GEJ, which ever floats their boat).

but they forget 'little' policy decisions like implementing TSA in one fell swoop was what really stunned growth.

you can't be facing a recession & at the same time purposely starve your economy of much needed funds.

however, I do not support a total scrap, but rather a compromise which allows banks to hold on to these funds, trade with percentage of it & pay interest on monthly bases to government.

this will allow the government have an overview of its income, stabilise the banking sector, allow genuine investors have access funds to run business, pump more foreign exchange into the economy & the government makes money that it can reinvest in other areas.

There was no savings yet this man was able to bail his extended ones to cater for their subordinates. Where did this money come from, his slashed salary ?

This same man simply refused to unite his family under one umbrella to breed trust and cooperation necessary to weather the storm, he ended up showing clear favoritism to selected few who unfortunately didn't have the key to contribute financially. Thus dwindling his resources further.

This same man ensured his archaic mentality to micromanage his family saw to the demise of the little businesses his children were engaging which was quite helpful at the time.

This man is a disaster that was fostered on all of us by the ignorant ones like you.
If by bailing out extended ones, you refer to the FG bailout of states, then your ignorance is in another level. You probably are one of those ones who make ignorant statements about how Nigeria isn't broke because we had $29bn left in the foreign reserves; probably it has to drop to zero and we must degenerate to the Venezuelan crisis before your type agrees that we have no savings?..... Meanwhile by saying 'subordinates' one would think the money is being gifted to his friends for free, however, your type obviously doesnt care that the state workers being owed salaries are also Nigerians whose welfare is also the business of the president.

My friend shut up and stop this nonsense. This is not a ps4 game. If you are a breadwinner and not relying on anyone you should know that this economy is in a coma.

Innoson will commence sacking its workers. Banks are on the brink. Forex is like diamond and manufacturers are closing shops. Airlines are shifting operations to Ghana; aero and Arik both have operational issues. Even churches are being affected as they have increased night vigil periods.

So what are you talking about? This is the time to wail, scream, cry till our president wakes up and do his goddamn job

The saddest part that always bleed my heart out is that despite these abysmal performances, if this same PMB contest election in 2019, majority of Nigerians will still elect him back. This is one aspect that I can't understand about Nigeria. Nigerians brain box need a total overhauling and rebooting.

It may be rigged. The present situation is not funny at all. We have regressed backward at a very fast pace. The little economic gains made by past administrations despite the challenges and corrupt practices, have been eroded away in just months

Keep on hoping for God intervention, You better Start thinking, afterall God gave everyone different idea to solve problems. Am not supporting anyone of these parties, be it the past and present. We should be finding way forward not hoping for God devine. pls dont be misguided about my use Of God intervene.
Just saying, its only when we start thinking, acting upon any serious action we proprose before God can intervene and am not saying God is not watching,
And the idea i read through this thread is very disturbing, why will some people be thinking of 2019 when we are still in 2016,.. Ahahah,..Lets wake up and start thinking.

I suppose you are literate enough to know the meaning of the word 'lie'?... Kindly point out the lie in my statement or the lie in the charts I posted?

By the way, it is your bloody cup of tea if you choose to remain ignorant, there are already many out there like you. The fact however remains that the standard of life in a struggling nation can never remain the same when it suddenly loses over 60% of its income. It is rather dumb for anybody to try and make a direct comparison between the standard of life when oil sold above $100 and now when it sells for less than $45. One doesn't need formal education to know this.

1)If I am not an economist but I know Soludo is one...and he has warned that one year is ENOUGH to blame crude price fall...after that blame leadership ineptitude...

2)I am educated enough to know how much crude price was under Obj($9) ...and how much under Buhari($50)...and it was going up and down under Jonathan...So was life this bad under Obj Was Obj always blaming the military? What was our reserve and debt burden under PDP government of Obj?

3)How come Sanusi sees this government as heading nowhere but confused?

4)Which economist has lauded this government confused and inept attitude except liars and propagandists like you?

Soludo cautioned against the continued complaints over oil price and lack of savings by the previous administration; he simply said things could be done better to remedy the already bad situation and that the government should focus on solutions and not complaints. But that does not negate the fact that the present hardship is INEVITABLE given Nigeria's over-dependence on oil for its forex and the drop in oil price. Only solution out of the current mess is diversification, and diversification takes years + money. I am yet to see the economist that would explain the abracadabra that can be done to invoke dollars from the spirit world overnight.

Nigeria of 1999-2003 is not the same as Nigeria of 2016, that Nigeria survived with $9/bbl 16 years ago does not mean that it would be enough for our daily needs today; I'm sure you should also be educated enough to know that. That N500 was sufficient for my entire needs when I was in SS1, that doesn't mean N500 would be enough for my needs now that I'm a married man with kids. Firstly, under OBj, how much was the minimum wage compared to now?... how much was government's monthly recurrent expenditure?... What was the value of the dollar to Naira then?... How many people had cars and how many owned I-pass-my-neighbor generators and what was Nigeria's fuel daily demand then?... How much of fuel did we have to import then compared to the almost 100% we import today?.... In general under OBj, what was Nigeria's forex demand compared to today?... Now that every individual with an ATM card can buy things online with the click of a button, are you aware that overall forex demand is presently more than 10-20 times what it was back then?... Yet you think that things are the same enough for you to make a direct comparison?

Get the simple message, the only solution to the current mess is diversification, and diversification takes years + money.
