CHAPTER 41
The park was busy and noisy, roadside seller were shouting and trying to sell their wares. I was escorted by a conductor to his bus where I sat next to a nursing mother who had a wailing baby in her arm. After staying for some good amount of time,people started screaming on top of their voices at the driver and conductor who paid them no heed as they were busy calling out to passengers. GARRISON! RUMUOLA!! WATERLINES!!! One chance, going bus! the conductor continued screaming.
After a long wait,the bus fen Ally moved, I breathe the breathe of relieve, it was as if a big load had been removed from my shoulder, all I could think about was my mum who I had not seen for almost a year now. I was still thinking what her reaction would be if she see me when I felt a touch. I turned to see it was from the baby who was now smiling at me and stretching herself towards me. my heart almost melted when I saw her cute smile. I stretch out my arm and carried her into my arm as i played Wit her & she kept laughing & displaying her cute gums. OKPOALA! NGWA IEEKWUE!! UGBA JUNCTION any dropping screamed the conductor again. Yet there was no response. Everywhere in the bus had suddenly become silent,even the baby in my arm had long fallen asleep. So I tried to hand her over to her mom but as soon as her body touched her mom's arm,she started wailing uncontrollably until I carried her back into my arm before she could go back to sleep. I watched her sleep, the look in her face was so peaceful, free of worries and free of the knowledge of the wickedness and sufferings of this world. For the first time since I grew to be an adult I had the wish to return to been a baby like her who had nothing to worry about apart from her mom's breast milk. Looking at this baby sleep,all I could do was smile to myself so much that anyone who saw me then would surely certify me as someone who had gone completely insane. OSISI OMA! TONIMAS!! FLY OVER! OBEHIE!!! IMO GATE!!!. IMO GATE the baby Mama screamed back at the conductor.
At fly over, the driver stopped,came down and another driver replaced him and started the bus as he piloted the bus away. After sometime he ON the radio and tuned to rhythm 93.7 FM where 2BABA song RAINBOW was playing. I was. Still sing silently to the song when they started talking and after sometime went back to music with FANCY song which he titled SHARP PAIN. It a new song to me as I had heard it not even once so I listened carefully to it lyrics.

The music Was still playing then it was stop abruptly with the presenter talking. It was then I noticed that two ladies in front row had being singing the song. So when the song stopped,the ladies continued discussing about the song,how it turned out to be one of his most mega hit and how much they loved the song over his other songs.
I was so much in thought about many things but was brought back by the conductor who was asking for my transportation fare. I paid for mine and the baby's mom who thanked me but I replied with just smiling and without saying a word.
I leaned my head on the bus frame as I drifted back into thought only to be brought back again by the baby mother who wanted to go down. I handed her sleeping baby over to her while she thanked me more still i spoke no word only smiles. after she went down, I searched my handbag till I saw my earpiece then I plugged it to my phone and started playing BANKY W new album SONG FOR YOU while the driver continued zooming away

After what seems like forever,i was finally here. Back to the place where i grew up. I dropped at mile 1 park which was my suposed bus stop. I placed a call across to my mom telling her that i was back. She gave me an address which was suposely her new shop address. I ended the call and flaged down a motorcyclist,gave him the address he charged me #500.i said no problem cos money was not part of the problems i was currently facing. ( lol Big girl things).

We zoom off, after some minutes we came to the front of a mini supermarket with the name JENNIFIC COSMETIC AND PROVISIONS STORE over a yellow mtn embled billbord. "Madam we done reach " the bike man said pointing to that shop. I couldnt belive my eyes. Was i dreaming, does this mini supermarket really belong to my mom. If so how come. But i guess i had to calm my curiousity until i see my mum. I knew there was enough mother and duaghter disscusion in store for me so i might use that medium to ask her how come about the new shop and her new found finacial upgrade. " madam every thing normal at all,i hope say gbese no dey " asked the motorcyclist bringing me out of my thoughts. Then i realised i had been standing there for sometime. Sorry for wasting your time. Here take i gave him three pieces of #200 note. Keep the balance i said as i walked away with my box and my hand bag. As soon i step into the shop and my mom saw me from behind the counter. She raced out and towards me. Immidately i dropped my bags too and raced towards her too as we rushed into an embrace. I held her close to my chest and squezzed her as tears kept dropping from my eye.

ME; i really missed you.
MOM; is everything alright where have you been all this months,you look pale, what happened have you not been fine. I would have visited like my guts told me to do at least to...
ME; ( hugged her again) mom is okay. Am it all over now.
MOM; i knew it there was a problem. I knew you wont just forget me like that for all those months. So what really happened to you.
ME; tears again started rolling from my eyes
MOM; ( she place a finger on my face as she try to wipe my tears away) will you stop this. You are messing up your self in public.

Come here as she gentily started draging me into the other side of the counter. She made me sat on a sit there and went out to bring in my bags. After sometime she came back with my bags,dropped it then went go the deep freezer just adjecent to where i sat and brought me a can of grand malt.
ME; ( I laughed) mom what is this one,am i now a visitor that you would treat me as such.
MOM; am not treating you like a vistor am just looking for a parfect excuse to start feeding my baby again.

We laughed at her joke. The she opened the malt and handed it over to me. I started siping it but notice my mom couldnt take her eyes off me with the smile on her face.

ME; what?
MOM; nothing just thinking how your dad would feel if he was able go see the big beautiful lady you have become.
ME; ( i smiled) all iam today i have you to be grateful to.

It was the most emotionall moment,we al most broke down in tears. She hugged me again. then we were interupted. Ma please do you have IDOLE COCOABUTTER CREAM said a you girl who we did know when she walked in. and she has this phone freak attitude as she was pressing her phone while talking to us.
MOM; let me check if i still have any left on the shelf. (She left and came back moment later with that cream) here
