tinsel:You are hiding away from the fact that you goofed and errred by stating that the school isn't rated by waec .This doesn't need you to bring in a completely irrelevant issue.I completely agree with you that the school fees you pay don't determine your success in life but educational research has proven that there's a significant increase in the chance of succeeding in life if you have quality education. Quality education and premium education don't come cheap anywhere in the world. I just don't want to encourage you on the path of hating on the school or parents who send their children to CIS. If you truly have your kids overseas, I want you to imagine the option of having those schools with same quality and accreditation body located in Nigeria but at a premium price. You may settle for the one in Nigeria. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Businessideas:bros, im my own experience, fellows that attended such schools don't perform significantly better than those that attended Catholic owned schools, jamb results would place everybody where they belong. i have a course mate from one such school in Abuja, she was hardly upto average in performance. my parish school had some Lebanese students from one such school and their performance was abysmal to say the least. 1 Like |

Lilimax:I am sorry for making you upset. I just would have been happy if you have, at least, tried to find out why these schools are expensive before concluding that they offer WAEC curriculum. I have a feeling that the devaluation of the naira didn't help the CIS school as most of their materials and regulatory services is paid for in foreign currency. 2 Likes |

abouzaid:Where did you get your data from? I am telling you that you don't have sufficient data to conclude as such. I have read about and followed the life of a few people who attended such schools and I noticed that they have more success rates than the people who attends common sense schools. From Ojukwu(Epsom College) to Saraki to Femi Fanikayode(Harrow) to Obi Asika(Eton),name them, they have more success rates more. These are the schools CIS is competing with. How many AIS,Saint Savior, BIS alumnus will you find among those graduates who applied for the last immigration exercise, how many of them do you see on ipob or militant lists? Yet these schools have been existing for years. I even doubt if you have any AIS or CIS alumnus On Nairaland, they will probably be following Linda Ikeji blog |

Businessideas:I commented here just because you called WAEC watery. That is all. In Nigeria today, about 99 percent of kids take WAEC and the other percent take SAT etc. You cannot call watery what about 99 percent of Nigeria kids do.These kids go on to become one of the best in universities both in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. Parents with money can burn it the way they like. But that can never guaranty success. 4 Likes |

When your wealth is cursed this is how you spend it. God will take away your wisdom and you will become foolish. Many Catholic schools give sound education, missionary schools are just as good or even better but since there is a curse on their wealth they spend it this way. To each his own 1 Like |

Whynotthetruth:WAEC is trash.WAEC that can't even guarantee the honesty of the invigilators hired by it or abolish miracle centres that litter the south east. Our education system is trashy doesn't mean we have not seen smart people who identified the missing gap early and worked hard to make up that knowledge deficit and are clearly reaping from it now. Just put the content of our textbooks for high school next to the content of the British or American textbooks and you will be so disappointed. I know that we're a resource limited nation but we can do better. India is doing a lot in that regard, even neighbouring Ghana is doing better in monitoring the quality of their education system. |

tinsel:Those exceptionally bright kids are not different from our professors littering everywhere. All content but little or nothing to show for it. This is the result of having watery education. Who validates it? WAEC!!! Mine is that, Nigerian kids who are privileged to acquire the advantage inherent in the sophisticated British curriculum should remember to put it in the development of Nigeria like Davido is doing. Seriously, we have a very long way to go ,especially in STEM education, and should be grateful that schools like CIS that can give Nigerians an idea of what they are missing. The next generation deserves more than what the politicians are giving to their education |

sledjama:Go and find the cost of getting accreditation from prestigious international education professional bodies and examination boards first. Then calculate annual cost of renewal. The teachers will be trained and licensed by these expensive bodies and who bears the cost? Next, calculate just the cost of registration for the kind of international exams schools like CIS enroll their pupils and students for. This is not a school for poor people. They already have their target customers -expatriates and wealthy Nigerians |

Businessideas: Lol I actually live in the UK with a child in the school system. People only send their children to private or grammar schools here for the prestige, not necessarily for the quality of education. CIS does not have the required prestige to demand such school fees. If you have Eton or Harrow on your CV, the doors to professional success are open to you anywhere in UK. Eton has produced 19 UK prime ministers, Harrow has produced 7. Both schools are hundreds of years old. Logically it follows that prestigious schools like this will charge exorbitant prices. CIS is not a career opener. It has no prestige or famous alumni. It has no history All it does is sell 'British Education' to gullible money-miss-road parents who are just looking for another way to show off. Paying 14000 dollars a year to a Nigerian school is just madness anyway you cook it. 5 Likes |
