Two suspects excrete 7 wraps of cocaine at Lagos airport

Two suspected drug traffickers arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, have excreted seven wraps of powdery substance that tested for cocaine.
The suspects identified as Okonkwo Francis Okechukwu,44, and Ifedigbo Chinedu Lucky, 37, were both arrested yesterday by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) attached to MMIA command of the anti-narcotics agency.
Both suspects who were allegedly on Nigeria-Brazil route excreted cocaine weighing 700 grammes.
Mitchel Ofoyeju, the Agency Head of Public Affairs who confirmed the case, said both suspects were arrested during the inward screening of passengers on a Royal Air Maroc flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil through Casablanca, Morocco.
According to him, the suspects had inserted seven wraps of cocaine each weighing 350 grammes into their alimentary canals to evade arrest.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that both suspects planned and executed the unlawful act together. They inserted seven wraps of cocaine each into their bodies weighing 350 grammes,” he added.
One of the suspects who identified himself as Okonkwo Francis Okechukwu, told NDLEA officials that he accepted to smuggle drugs due to frustration.
