We Will Not Support Akeredolu- Oke, Abraham, Borrofice blast by Nobody: 7:39am On Sep 24, 2016 |
The last may not have been heard of the crisis rocking the Ondo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as three gubernatorial aspirants who participated in the September 3 governorship primary election of the party passed a vote of no confidence on the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Oyegun. The three governorship aspirants, Chief Olusola Oke, Senator Ajayi Boroffice and Dr. Olusegun Abraham also declared that they would not work for the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), saying, the process that produced him was faulty. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party had ratified the election of Akeredolu despite the petitions by the three aspirants to the appeal committee set up by the party’s leadership. Akeredolu had emerged the party’s candidate having polled 669 votes at the party’s primary election. But three of the aspirants – Oke, Ajayi and Boroffice appealed against his (Akeredolu’s) victory on the ground that the primary election was marred by irregularities. The three aspirants condemned the decision of the party’s NWC to present Akeredolu as the party’s candidate, saying the party ought to have organised a fresh primary election that will be fair to all the parties concerned. They said it was worrisome that the leadership of the party that has zero tolerance for corruption defended illegality. The three aspirants were however silent on whether or not they would defect to other political parties, but insisted that they would not team up with Akeredolu in the forthcoming election. They lamented that the vision of the APC and its plans to liberate the state have been defeated following the emergence of Akeredolu, who they alleged , emerged through a faulty process. http://sunnewsonline.com/ondo-apc-crisis-deepens-as-oke-abraham-boroffice-pass-vote-of-no-confidence-on-oyegun/ |

Considering Olusola Oke's performance at the last guber election he should have been a preferred choice to wrestle governorship position from PDP. And will it not be fair to have a man from else-odo as governor |
