Lol...just listen to yourself? Lol. I'll educate you...Lagos gets a percentage from the port duties, same with airport, just like Niger delta states get percentage called derivation from oil. Where do you think most of Lagos revenue come from? Ports and Airport, if not Lagos revenue will drop by 60%

That is not true at all.

See our youths with indiscipline, busy taking photos instead of focusing on the topic of discussion, even if he doesn't contribute to the project, he should be observing how things are being done for future meaningful contribution and leadership. I don't like indiscipline and lack of focus.

Stop lying. NOT LICENSED? Where did you get that fiction from?None of those ports are on the Sea but quite far inland and not suitable for large vessels. Vessels that have to travel inland are at risk of piracy and many insurers will not take the risk in Nigeria
This is the story across the entire Nigeria coastline which is mostly mangrove and swamp.
In terms of cost Lagos is the most viable because it does not need any dredging and Lagos can easily accommodate 4 more ports. Any port in Lagos will cost 4 times as much to build in other places plus there is a need to build evacuation infrastructure (roads and rail).
In fact Ondo state offers a better alternative but has been marginalized because of politics(people will say , is it only SW but outside of Lagos is a better option in terms of cost and the coast is not far from Ore which is better for some parts of the country
The nation still uses ND ports to import arms and selected stuffs

Port harcourt and calabar ports are dormant, everyone still imports from lagos. They want to create another port in the middle of two non-functional ports to make up three passive ports, while at it bayelsa's own is on the pipeline to make it four useless ports in one region. Nigeria i hail thee!

Yapping? Not for commercial ? There really is no need for feral behaviour. The PH port was set up for commercial purposes. Importers and shippers are not interested because it is not viable. It is a small river port

Oil majors still import through Onne, they even import vegetables ,chicken and meat through Onne .You are the one that needs to educate yourself .You think you know it all while what you know is less than nothing

There is no comparison.PH and Calabar ports are inland shallow water ports while the proposed port will process significantly larger vessels and will be on the sea. In the long term it should be a good idea but will need massive investment in evacuation infrastructure

If it were gazetted for widespread import, you think Igbos wouldn't have flooded it?
The same ports that served bigger purposes in the past?

Gazetted? What does that mean? Please stop talking rubbish. Every port in Nigeria was set up by an Act or Decree.
What is the capacity? of the port and what is the significance of Igbos flooding it. You folk like to delude yourselves. So if Igbos flood an okada it will carry a cow. You believe the bulk of importing in Nigeria is done by Igbos?
Do not be ridiculous!! the greatest tonnage of imports into Nigeria is done by companies and government not Igbos. Is it only Igbos that import petrol and steel and rice into Nigeria? The greatest spend on imports into Nigeria is food and petroleum and Igbos are not the key players in these sectors. Companies import all the time without noise and chest beating. Consider all the steel and other inputs that went into the rail or the imports of the flour mills and breweries daily. Those are the importers we need in Lagos. Not the rubbish that your folk bring to Ladipo. Please take that to PH you won't be missed!
How many Igbos do you know that single-handedly import a shipload of goods into Nigeria? Let us leave that Igbo delusion and focus on the thread. The fact is that PH port is a small river port and not profitable for shippers. That is why it is dormant.
The majority of Nigeria.s population is in the North and SW and that is where importers will sell there goods. I am sure that more than half of Igbos do not live at home. The whole of Igboland is smaller than Oyo state. Importers go to where the market is and it is not in PH

Just as Israel has less market than Mali cos Mali is bigger? PH is not viable for biz but Ekiti, osun, Oyo, ogun, ondo are? Just look at yourself.

Don't Igbos have companies too that import stuff, which one is FG and companies?
Even the oil you talked about has capital oil dominating the downstream, so, what's your point?
We bring rubbish to Ladipo cos demand begets supply.

All points are true but for convenience sake the company's that do business in Lagos with proper incentives will patronise Ibom port for cheaper shipping, faster clearing since lagos congestion, especially if final destination is to SS and eastern region besides our roads move north as well.

Ekiti Oyo Ogun and Ondo do not have a port We are comparing Lagos with PH So I do not understand what your emotional rant is all about. You folk are always emotional and so you do not know how to argue coherently or rationally. Capital oil dominating downstream. Sure Onitsha market is the largest in the Milky Way and the US Army come there to buy drones, why I spotted Angelina Jolie there the other day she came to buy Cameroonian hair?
The point is that the port in PH is rather small in capacity and importers prefer to ship to Lagos. Because Lagos is the biggest market in West Africa. It is not complex at all
