The best thing to do is promote awareness and preventions in countries with their back turned to the realities of HIV.

Why dont they just have HIV walk or run for cure or treatment. I dont see people having miss breast-cancer or miss- herpes. Please have an awareness program and raise money for research for this disease and dont make a mockery of it. Have seminars showing how people can live with HIV and AIDS and have a normal life. i don't see how this supposedly "positive pageant" is going never help with HIV awareness .

all those monies and prizes they're going to award to the winner should be put into developing more effective awareness programs not some absurd pageants.

it'd be interesting though to see the girls who would be brave enough to show their faces to such pageant and the more stigma they would face afterward.

I would say lets watch and see. the idea is worth it though but just like every seemingly good thing in this country it it dies the minute it starts!!! why put both negative and positive together on the same stage? So they could over time kick out the positives and start a full time beauty pageant business? Well I think if its done correctly and expecially without the HIV negatives it will boost the morals and sense of belonging of those already with the virus, a chance to make something meaningful with their rather short lives.
