The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday opened its body of evidence against a previous Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (retd.), and 10 others, who are being striven for a claimed extortion of N22.8bn.

The respondents, who were charged under the steady gaze of a Federal High Court in Lagos on June 29, 2016, had on July 8, 2016 showed their aim to go into a supplication deal with the Federal Government.

On July 8, the EFCC prosecutor, Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo, had showed up in court with a draft duplicate of the terms of the request deal proposed by the Federal Government.

He educated the trial judge, Justice Mohammed Idris, that he had served the draft terms of the supplication deal on the respondents while affirming that the litigants had drawn nearer the EFFC with a suggestion to request deal.

Oyedepo then told the court that he was prepared to go ahead with the procedure of the request deal.

In any case, the protection guide, containing Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN), Mr. Norrison Quakers (SAN), Mr. Kemi Balogun (SAN) and Mr. A. Etuokwu, had looked for a dismissal to empower their customers to idealize their safeguard terms and recover their opportunity from authority before proceeding with the request deal.

Quakers contended that however the respondents were the ones who proposed the possibility of a request deal, they should have been out of the EFCC guardianship first before they would have the capacity to arrange legitimately with the indictment.
"At the point when a man is in an overseer situation, anything you need him to say, he would say; anything you need him to do, he would do. We ought not be charged or enclosed to a corner," Quakers said.

In any case, at the continued procedures for the situation on Thursday, instead of continue with the request deal, the EFCC legal counselor, Oyedepo, opened his case and called his first witness.
