To the best of my knowledge you don't need statement of consent from your husband for baby US passport the DS 3053 will except maybe for Nigerian documents e.g. visa or passport which ever you decide to go with. As for going with DS 3053 notorised maybe its possible , though i dont see any harm in trying besides the document is valid for 90 days from the day it is notorised Agbo2014: |

chibertha: You need the consent of your hubby for application of US passport asper US legal requirements .That is what the DS 3053(i.e Statment of consent form) achieves for u.Also I dont think you should notarize a form before the actual event i.e child birthin this case because you need to specify the child name as hightligthed on birth certificate and data of birth also which you may not be in control of. I am quite sure US embassy would not notoraize it for you for a future event as you swear an oath while signing that all you stated was accurate and truth. How do you know that when the event hasnt happened. Just my two cents 2 Likes |

Thank u all for ur input. So my poe experience goes thus: I arrived Houston (IAH)with dh and our 2year old at about 1.30pm US time with lufthansa on the 9th of June, flight experience was great thank God. Meanwhile I flew at 33weeks and got the clearance to fly from port health for N2,000. Before travelling I had sorted out everything from correspondence with hospital(west Houston medical center) and Dr (Jeanie Huynh) already paid part of doctors fee and 100% of hospital fee, mail I sent to Abuja embassy with no specific response but an automated response. I was ready for all forms of questions given all the knowledge I gained from this platform. Conversation with cpb official We: good afternoon Cbp: good afternoon why are u here? Dh: for vacation and to hv our baby Cpb: how much do u hv? Dh:10k Cpb: pls place ur fingers here to be scanned And he stamps b2 on our passports for 6 months and sends us off to Agriculture cos we had food. At agriculture all out bags were scanned and checked one by one. Only my dad's alligator pepper was seized cos it wasn't dry. The cpb official there actally counted our money to be sure. And after d agricultural check we were off. I just thank God for his mercy and grace because it was so easy. Total time spent with cpb official was about 3 to 4mins. Wish evryone coming a safe trip, success at the poe and for the pregnant mamas a safe delivery. 12 Likes |

Ashynabs: I would say, get a consent letter. It doesn't hurt to have it, whether it is asked for or not. I took one along for my last trip, I think I was asked for it after checking in, by the customs/immigration stand once I cleared security. As for travelling with toddlers, it depends on the age and the child's nature. I would advise get enough snacks and games to keep the child occupied. If you already use an Ipad to keep them busy with games, better load it for the trip. my daughter gave me plenty stress both going and returning. Some people have said same while some were quiet. I wish you all the best, a safe trip filled with successful delivery, quick document collection and joyful return with all luggage complete (ie shopping galore and no missing luggage from the flight ..lol). 7 Likes |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by chibertha(f): 10:30am On Jun 24, 2017 |
To get hospital fee go the hospital website search for fees click on uninsured then go look for well baby well mama. As for Dr fee Dr Huynh used to be the cheapest because she charges a flat rate no extra in case of emergency. Supernaturalone: 1 Like |

Bolaglitz: Your doctor/hospital or the airbnb (organization) should do.... New York is over 3hrs away from Houston by flight and you ain't gonna be staying there and attending to your primary purpose of visit from there. No relationship! @the bolded sha.... 1 Like |

Good morning good people of nairaland, I want to sincerely appreciate everyone's effort and contribution in this forum, may God bless u all. So in the spirit of giving back I flew qatar airways to USA on wed 22nd June at 32 weeks twin gestation. 10hrs to Doha, 4 hour layover then 16 hrs to us, no be small pipkin matter. I requested for wheelchair blc my tommy is really big and heavy, walking is becoming difficult but I never used it until I got to us. At Doha bl4 boarding they told me to wait that and officer will have to see me, after like 10 mins one of those escorts came and carried my hand luggage ant took me to the plane straight away no interview no document check. We arrived dallas at 4pm and I entered my wheelchair straight to baggage claim after picking my bags we went straight to the cpb, we jumped line and went straight to priority line and I was the second person. Cpb: saw my big tommy and shouts how are u mam. Me: am fine thank you. Cpb: what are u her for Me: to have my baby Cpb: how much do u have on you Me: 8k 100d Cpb: are you sure that's Gina be enough? Me: yes I ready made some deposits to the hospital Cpb: smiling and already stamping my passport and asked how old is my pregnancy Me: 32 weeks Cpb: was like are u sure blc u look like u gonna drop any minute from now Me: yes, an expecting twin. He gave me my passport as he was shouting wow congratulations pls do take Kia of ur and have a nice day. I thanked him and off I went to connect to elpaso. I declared food but he didn't even mention it, no document check and no sec inspection and everything lasted for less than 2 mins. Currently resting in El Paso and waiting for my first appointment. 19 Likes 1 Share |
