elegushichilling: First : I think you should cool down small, it is your anxiety that is giving you headache not rabies and also taking ampliclox has no effect on rabies or your headache for that matter! Secondly: It is highly unlikely that that dog has rabies if alive and well 18days after your encounter. The dog owner should have a vaccination card for the dog and the vaccination status can be confirmed from it. Thirdly: The vaccines helps you to form immunity against rabies and need to be given at a RECOMMENDED interval. You cannot just take it anyhow so that it can work faster!! The immunoglobulin is already made immunity that will help clear the virus fast if present. Finally: If the rabies is the cause of what you are feeling now, you will not be the one posting on Nairaland! !!! |

deewhone19: 6 months of itching hmm. any discharge? Get tested for STD first. Then, I will investigate what you are putting on yourself that maybe causing it and eliminate it. also, consider seeing a dermatologist-skin doctor for quick exam. |

geraldyne: Did you have period on january? if your period is usually on 31st, then why not wait until 31st of this month before panicking. Please, next time, use condom or get on contraception; if you are going to engage in the act. brytandre: you have abscess that will not heal. first, make sure you do not have suppressed immunity state like diabetes or on steroid drugs. you need to incise and drain the abscess/pus. it will not heal until the base has been really cleaned out. visit your local doctor who is skilled in incision and drainage. Or a surgeon will do. keep the area clean and hygienic and apply topical antistaph. if fever, you may require oral antibiotics. afolayan22: eat well balanced diet. eat more than you expend. visit a doctor for a physical exam. ibari: what kind of tests have they done? What were results? muslee4luv: get tested for STD if you are active sexually. if not active, treat as acne with acne medications/wash etc. visit a doctor for exam. |

Hello Doc, What are the likely negative health implications one who sweat often on the foot and hand can face and what are your recommendations on reducing it if it can't be stopped? Regards. |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Nobody: 7:40pm On Feb 22, 2016 |
geraldyne: hopefully you have gotten pregnancy test by now if you are sexually active yemi2plus: so, you sweat excessively only in two regions? Health implication depends on what's wrong. Typically, it is overactive sweat glands/neurons. There are ways to manage them. |

yemi2plus: diabetes, overactive thyroid among others can cause it. Are you on any medications/supplements/herbs? Likely due to overactive sweat glands/nerves. You can try prescription medicine, there is topicals like prescriptions strength antiperspirants, procedures/surgery that can temporary or permanently stop your sweat glands respectively. See a dermatologists |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by yemi2plus(m): 10:56pm On Feb 23, 2016 |
Xiadnat: Thanks for your input Doc. I'm not suffering from diabetes and neither am I on medications/supplements or herbs. I have always suspected my sweat glands, I'll visit a dermatologist as advised. However, will I not suffer any health challenge if my sweat glands are temporary or permanent stopped since sweating is one of the ways the body system dispose waste product? |
