SHOPRITE: Gov Okowa commissions Asaba Mall (SHOPRITE) Amidst Excitement

Delta State Governor, Sen Ifeanyi Okowa today commissioned Asaba Shopping Mall SHOPRITE amidst excitement.

I really don't understand. Does shoperite own the mall or they just have a shop in the mall? In south africa there is nothing like shoperite mall. Are these malls in nigeria being built by shoperite and the state government? Somebody please explain.

Most "malls" housing SHOPRITE stores are built by Grand Towers, a South African real estate company. But they have a special agreement with SHOPRITE, also a South African establishment.

Grear job my governor.
My dear state now has 2 malls. One in Warri and one in Asaba. We are definitely making great strides . I oppose referring to malls in Nigeria by the name of a mere super market "shop rite" It converes the erroneous idea that the entire mall is occupied by just one super market. Which is false.

Anyhow, those afonjas angry with the development of Asaba should go and hug a transformer. Their useless governors build 90 mosques with state funds and conduct weddings for 1000 jobless people who cannot even take care if themselves and they hail it as development. But when funds are used to create decent shopping spaces that will boost the economy and create jobs, it is wasteful.
