Please I need some clarification on some issues that border around party poliiics
With the frequent defections we hear on radio of politicians, I recall an incident that beclouds the whole matter
So, I remember wen the APC gubernatorial flag bear of Kogi state, Prince Abubakar Audu died right before INEC announced tge results. A heated argument ensued all around the country. He was however replaced and his votes given to his replacement based on the premise that THE VOTES BELONGED TO THE PARTY NOT THE PERSON. THE BALLOT PAPERS HAD THE NAMES OF PARTIES NOT PEOPLE AS NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION DOESNT SUPPORT INDEPENDENT CANDIDACY.
Now, looking at the wave of defection, in view of the above stated case, WHY DOES THE PERSON DEFECT WITH THE MANDATE TO ANOTHER PARTY WHEN IT WAS THE PARTY THAT WAS VOTED FOR? if it was good for the goose, why isnt it good for the gander?

Constitutionally when you defect to another party your position is forfeited that's how it is...
