Atheists or people who are very strident about their atheism are heavily prone to mental illness:

“There were 17,809 people in the study. It was a very large model as far as psychological experiments go.” This came as quite a shock to us as we studied patient after patient.

“Overt atheism, in other words, atheism that is professed as a way of life by some individuals — a manifesto of sorts — was found to be a common component inherent to many people suffering from other forms of severe mental illness,” said Dr. Hans Zimmermann MD PhD

“We started to notice that many of our experimental volunteers — those who were defiantly atheistic in their beliefs — were also suffering from various forms of dissociate disorders and social adaptation manias.

This came as quite a shock to us as we studied patient after patient because for years we have been led to believe that religious zeal was often a patently obvious sign of mental illness, but in fact this is not the case. Quite the contrary.

“The individuals we have studied, especially those under the age of forty who actively participate in open debate about their own avowed atheism, or people who are very strident about their atheism are heavily prone to mental illness — and most of the illnesses are quite severe. This was not a handful of subjects who were studied, mind you. There were 17,809 people in the study. It was a very large model as far as psychological experiments go.”

Haroun13:

I'm pretty sure my Atheist brothers and sisters believe in science right?
So, let's take a short journey on science and Islam.

1. “God then turned towards the heaven when it was smoke”
Qur’an, 41:11

“Do the disbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, then I split them apart?” Qur’an, 21:30

According to modern science, the separation process resulted in the formation of multiple worlds, a concept which appears dozens of times in the Qur’an.
For example, look at the first chapter of the Qur’an, al-Faatihah: ( “Praise be to God, the Lord of the Worlds.” Qur’an, 1:1 ).

These Qur’anic references are in perfect agreement with modern ideas on the existence of primary nebula (galactic dust), followed by the separation of the elements which resulted in the formation of galaxies and then stars from which the planets were born. Reference is also made in the Qur’an to an intermediary creation between the heavens and the earth, as seen in chapter al-Furqaan:

“God is the one who created the heavens, the earth and what is between them...” Qur’an, 25:59

It would seem that this intermediary creation corresponds to the modern discovery of bridges of matter which are present outside organized astronomical systems.

2. "Did you see how Allah created seven heavens, one above the other, and made in them the moon a light and the sun a lamp?"
Qur’an, 78:12-13

The moon is an inert body which reflects light, whereas the sun is a celestial body in a state of permanent combustion producing both light and heat.

3. Stars and Planets
The word ‘star’ (najm) in the Qur’an ( 86:3 ) is accompanied by the adjective
thaaqib which indicates that it burns and consumes itself as it pierces through the shadows of the night. It was much later discovered that stars are heavenly bodies producing their own light like the sun.
In the Qur’an, a different word, kawkab,
is used to refer to the planets which are celestial bodies that reflect light and do not produce their own light like the sun.
“We have adorned the lowest heaven with ornaments, the planets.” Qur’an, 37:6

4. The Day and Night
The Qur’anic description of the sequence of day and night would, in itself, be rather commonplace were it not for the fact that it is expressed in terms that are today highly appropriate. The Qur’an uses the verb kawwara in chapter az-Zumar to describe the way the night ‘winds’ or ‘coils’ itself around the day and the day around the night.

“He coils the night upon the day and the day upon the night.”
Qur’an, 39:5

The original meaning of the verb is to coil a turban around the head. This is a totally valid comparison; yet at the time the Qur’an was revealed, the astronomical data necessary to make this comparison were unknown. It is not until man landed on the moon and observed the earth spinning on its axis, that the dark half of the globe appeared to wind itself around the light and the light half appeared to wind itself around the dark.

5. The Solar Apex
The notion of a settled place for the sun is vividly described in chapter Yaa Seen
of the Qur’an:

"The sun runs its course to a settled place That is the decree of the Almighty, the All Knowing.” Qur’an, 36:38

“Settled place” is the translation of the word mustaqarr which indicates an exact appointed place and time. Modern astronomy confirms that the solar system is indeed moving in space at a rate of 12 miles per second towards a point situated in the constellation of Hercules (alpha lyrae ) whose exact location has been precisely calculated. Astronomers have even give it a name, the solar apex.

6. Expansion of the Universe
Chapter ath-Thaa riyaat of the Qur’an also seems to allude to one of the most imposing discoveries of modern science, the expansion of the Universe.

“We have built the heaven with might and We it is who make it expand.”
Qur’an 51:47

The expansion of the universe was first suggested by the general theory of relativity and is supported by the calculations of astrophysics. The regular movement of the galactic light towards the red section of the spectrum is explained by the distancing of one galaxy from another. Thus, the size of the universe appears to be progressively increasing.

7. Conquest of Space
Among the achievements of modern science is the “conquest” of space which has resulted in mans journey to the moon. The prediction of this event surely springs to mind when we read the chapter ar-Rahmaan in the Qur’an:

“O assembly of Jinns and men, if you can penetrate the regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate them! You will not penetrate them except with authority.”
Qur’an 55:33

Authority to travel in space can only come from the Creator of the laws which govern movement and space. The whole of this Qur’anic chapter invites humankind to recognize God’s beneficence.

8. BIOLOGY
More than anything else, I was struck by statements in the Qur’an dealing with living things, both in the animal and vegetable kingdoms, especially with regard to reproduction. We should really devote much more time to this subject, but, due to the limited scope of this presentation, I can only give a few examples.
I must once again stress the fact that it is only in modern times that scientific progress has made the hidden meaning of some Qur’anic verses comprehensible to us. Numerous translations and commentaries on the Qur’an have been made by learned men who had no access to modern scientific knowledge. It is for this reason that scientists find some of their interpretations unacceptable.
There are also other verses whose obvious meanings are easily understood, but which conceal
scientific meanings which are startling, to say the least. This is the case of a verse in chapter al-Ambiyaa:

“Do the unbelievers not realize that the heavens and the earth were joined together,
then I clove them asunder and I made every living thing out of water. Will they still not believe?” Qur’an, 21:30

This is a dramatic affirmation of the modern idea that the origin of life is aquatic.

9. Botany
Progress in botany at the time of Muhammad (S) was not advanced enough in any country for scientists to know that plants have both male and female parts. Nevertheless, we may read the following in the chapter Taa Haa:

“(God is the One who) sent down rain from the sky and with it brought forth a variety of plants in pairs.” Qur’an, 20:53

Today we know that fruit comes from plants that have sexual characteristics even when they come from unfertilized flowers, like bananas. In the chapter ar-Ra‘d we read the following:

“... and of all fruits (God) placed (on the earth) two pairs.” Qur’an, 13:3

This is to say the least, there is more.

Salaam brothers and sisters.

When you were doing this 'thinking', were you able to completely step out from that box of religion? Or you thought of things from the islamic perspective. Did you Base your decisions on facts (I mean what is known to everyone) or what is in the quran? I'm simply one without religion.

I have performed some study, and reflected on them, and have to come to the conclusion that Islam has always and will always be the truth.

I don't know if you believe in God or not, but your very existence is because there is a creator, Allah.

If we go back, according to science, you'll agree with me that at a time, there was only a pair of humans. So, before them, what??

If we agree with the theory of evolution, for example, we will go back to the amoeba. Two questions:
1. Are you saying a group of amoeba, without brains came and thought for themselves, some decided to form a monkey, some lion, some fish, etc?
2. Assuming it is correct, we go back to a time there was nothing, no life. Life cannot exist from lifelessness without some intervention of some sort. Likewise, nothing can form out of nothingness, on it's own.

This fact alone is enough proof that God exists, for those who say He doesn't.

Same Quran that hates and treats women like "tools", the same Quran that allows you to beat your wife? Same Quran that allows you to lust on a goat, and then tells you to kill the goat? Same Quran that orders death to homosexuals, same Quran that hate dogs? (obviously because dogs can sniff out bombs, lmao grin ) Muslims have lesser brains than Christians, cuz Islam is far worse..

Well my journey into atheism was a gradual process..
I've always hated how my parents would force me to go to church, but you know, you just have to keep quiet.

So I started following atheist pages, something was spectacular about these people, they asked really interesting questions, but because back then I was scared of hell, I would be like "may God have mercy on their soul".. These atheists were really thinking wise, but I just didn't want to think for myself because I might end up in hell..

Then I had second thoughts, looked at the Bible, saw how" bullshitic" the Bible was, and then yes! I stopped giving a Bleep about God and religion, my fear for eternal damnation disappeared, but I kept my atheism to myself. Until..

One day, they were forcing me to go to church.. Long story short, I told them my mind "I don't believe in God, even if there is a God, and he is the idiot portrayed in the Bible, then he should go to hell for all i care".. They were like" Jesus "... They started telling my uncles

My uncles will call me.. There was one in particular that called me and told me how he converted an atheist to a Christian, I just said" he was never an atheist to begin with "...

He was telling me a lot of things that only made sense to Christians, quoting the book of lies to me. . He was sending a lot of fictional Christian experiences (you know the type they keep posting on fb).. I just told him

It's really a long story though, but I don't have the time to share..

So how do your own family take your atheism?

Jonbellion, hopefulLandlord, Sir were, hardmirror ... .
Some members of my family know and they don't understand it. They insist I must have joined ogboni or some sort of cult

Alhamdulillah.
You seem to misunderstand me. I believe Judaism, Christianity, Islam and all other religions which believe in the worship of a supreme being, all worship The creator of the universe, Allah.
However, the mode of worship, and the way God Almighty is perceived in these religions is different. E.g, Christians believe that the God head is 3-in-1, whereas in Islam, we are made to understand that God Almighty is one alone, and does not share his divinity. We also believe association of partners with Allah is shirk (polytheism) and is the greatest sin.

Also, some people say "Allah", like it means some form of Arabian god, NO. Allah in simple terms means "the one who deserves to, and should be worshipped".

Concerning ur question, I believe Qur'an 112 will answer that.

"Say: He Allah is one.
Allah, the eternal refuge.
He neither begets nor is born.
Nor is there to Him any equivalent." (QUR'AN 112)
Also, God Almighty has unique qualities, as we understand from the Qur'an.

Hope I have answered you.

Flat earth
Qur'an 71:19: And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out),

Wrong translation.
Here's the correct one:

SAHIH INTERNATIONAL
"And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse" Qur'an 71:19.
I guess that's self explanatory.

Beat a woman

Surah An-Nisa [4:34]
Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.

Self explanatory.

That means women don't have a mind of their own but to just obey men

I wonder how you managed to interpret the above verse in this manner.
Lemme explain better.
First, Allah says men are in charge of women because of their responsibility, I.e, men are responsible for women, hope you get me.
Second, women should be obedient to their husbands. Are you telling me obedience to your parents makes you a mindless robot?
Third, speaking on arrogance, these are in steps.
i. admonish her: is there anything wrong in having discussions and heart to hearts with your wife, in addressing issues? Also, if she is a good wife, she will reason with her husband, and they will resolve whatever issue they have.
ii. if that doesn't work, abandon her to her bed. Any responsible woman, seeing her husband avoiding her in bed, will know something is wrong, and dialog with her husband. Is it too difficult?
iii. If she still continues in her attitude, ignoring the first two, you beat. Note, some scholars say that the beating referred to here is symbolic(like using a toothpick to hit), just to let her know she has gone too far, not your regular definition of "beat". Also, even though it is symbolic, you don't beat on the face, and you don't beat to cause injury. But I don't even see any reason why a loving couple would get passed stage 1.

Homos

Quran (4:16) - "If two men among you are guilty of lewdness, punish them both. If they repent and amend, Leave them alone"
Quran (7:80-84) - "...For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds.... And we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone)"

I don't see anything wrong in this verse

Another astonishing claim.
Lemme see what I can do for you.
First, The Arabic word for god is ilah. It can be made plural ilahi (gods) or feminine ilaha (goddess). It can also be used with the creations, e.g, godmother, godfather, etc.
The word "Allah" in Arabic is unique. It cannot be pluralized, feminized, or used with creation. It is unique. If you look at it, it is as though you are saying Al ilah, The God.
In conclusion, Allah means the one who deserves to be worshipped, and that is non other than the Creator of the universe.

I would not have answered, because your tone sounds like you are criticizing, not seeking truth. But for the benefit of others, I will.

What ISIS, or whatever other radical groups are doing is not the basis of Islam. The basis of Islam is the Qur'an and Authentic Hadith.

In every circle, or group, you most certainly have extremism. There will always be people who claim to be part of a system, yet, cherry pick and sugar coat the tenets of belief of that system, in order to suit their whims and desires, that doesn't mean they are doing the right thing.

Open the Qur'an and read for yourself to know what it truly teaches.

Okay. Good

Now, the Jews and Christians worship the creator of the universe, who introduced himself as Jehovah to them, do you believe this?

Like I said before, I believe they also worship God Almighty, in their own way.

But, when you say He introduced himself as Jehovah to them, I don't know. Why?
1st, I don't know the meaning of the word "Jehovah"
2nd, The Qur'an does not mention revealing to the followers of Moses (pbuh) and Jesus (pbuh) that he is Jehovah.

I think you again misunderstand me. I believe in the Qur'an, and they believe in their holy books. I don't believe in their books, they don't believe in mine. I follow the way it is laid down in the Qur'an to worship God Almighty, likewise, they follow the way it laid down in their scriptures to worship God Almighty. If God Almighty said He is Jehovah (note: I don't know the meaning), in their scriptures, it is for them. Such is not mentioned in the Qur'an, so I do not concur.

NOTE: If Jehovah means something that can be attributed to God, according to the Qur'an, in another language, then, I have no problem with it.

Albert Einstein - did not believe in a personal God. A God that will heal and deliver. Although today he has been proven wrong by the overwhelming scientific evidence coming out of Scoan Church Nigeria. However, it is interesting how he arrived at that conclusion.
In developing the theory of relativity, Einstein realized that the equations led to the conclusion that the universe had a beginning.

Einstein didn't like the idea of a beginning, because he thought one would have to conclude that the universe was created by God. So, he added a cosmological constant to the equation to attempt to get rid of the beginning.

He said this was one of the worst mistakes of his life. So, although Einstein was not a Christian, he had great respect for Jesus, and recognized that He was an amazing figure in history. Personally having grown up as an atheist in a non-religious home, Einstein initially saw Jesus as a brilliant teacher when I read the gospels for the first time at age 32.

Emmanuel TV is a golden opportunity for atheists world wide to study in private and examine the evidence. They will make progress if they put aside their rasicm. God is revealing Himself mightily through a black man. Examine the evidence not the man's color !
Scientist are known to make use of Emmanuel TV as the golden opportunity to study and examine the evidence.
These insane men who founded atheism also have the greatest influence on Psychology and Psychiatry, Charles Darwin, Sigmund Freud, Thomas Henry Huxley and Nietzsche, Issac Newton, Albert Einstein.

The irony of your name being sciencewatch and saying all this nonsense, i watched emmanuel tv once..i laughed

Your laughter can not be pleasant to the ear. People that trash good people that do a thousand times more good for humanity than themselves, have a dry, empty laughter.

What does science say about people like you ?

That is the irony !

Anybody can be trashed, the "good" he has done for humanity involves exploiting the citizens of a poor country to amass a wealth of millions. Humanity does need help but your daddy in the Lord is not that help.

Your response show how short-sighted you are on this matter.

You would like to see the day when the Holy Prophet TB Joshua leave Nigeria to live in the many countries that are offering him and his family permanent residence.

When that happens, Nigeria will experience suffering on a scale your small mind cannot imagine.

when they call us "devil" they don't even realise the irony staring them in the face

most of these people calling us devil are not as well behaved as us,

its ironic that these are the people you know are thieves, corrupt, pedophiles, nymphomaniacs, chronic liars etc have the temerity to look you in the face and call you devil, even if you're considering theism, these people destroy every chance of it!
Albert Einstein - did not believe in a personal God. A God that will heal and deliver.

Although today he has been proven wrong by the overwhelming biblical and scientifically vrifiable evidence coming out of Scoan Church Nigeria. However, it is interesting how he arrived at that conclusion.

While developing the theory of relativity, Einstein realized that his mathematical equations led to the conclusion that the universe had a beginning. But because he was atheist/deist/agnostic/humanist etc.

Einstein didn't like the idea of a beginning of the universe , because he thought one would have to conclude that the universe was created by God. So, he cunningly added a cosmological constant to his mathematical equation to attempt to get rid of the evidence of a beginning of the universe.

If we wont worship the creator God,, we are atheists. Don’t be confused with the many fancy titles created, they all mean the same thing in the end.
