|Bridal Shower...yes? by sisisioge: 5:42am On Dec 10, 2016|
Love me jeje baby love ...
Hey babes, just for the fun of it lets plan a bridal shower. Yes, that one last wild party the bride is supposed to have before she kills singlehood...yeah right .
I heard the party is supposed to be funky enough for the girls in attendance to be wild for more than several minutes. By that, I meant party really hard, bring on the booze, the wild music, the crazy dances and whoever wants to fraternize with Oshogbo weeds is free to do so. In fact, I heard the oyinbo girls go as far as getting laid on that day...whew, easy boy ! The party should be enjoyed by all in attendance from the wowsers(bluenose) girls, the fast girls (awon Mami) and we the hybrids ( we combine both traits). The idea is to have fun!
Now how do we have the fun? How should it go? What should we do? Is there a generic format one can adopt to make it fun? I have attended a total of three of them. One was actually for a bride I never met until the shower itself. I wasn't her friend, didn't know her crowd. I only attended because the venue was the sitting room of a flat I used to share. Long story short, it turned out to be hosted by girls who appeared bornagainish but with some closet madness. They bored me out of my sockets and I bailed in no time. No drinks , no loud music and no fancy nibbles! Whew no be small thing.
The second one was a low cost party on the beach...we were on a rampage. The drinks, the nibbles, trust the songs...we even took turns on the pole even though we all sucked at it (ain't nothing like the professional doing her thing girls).
The third would have been the bomb! All classy, in a nice hotel, cameras, drinks, music, nibbles... yadayadayada. Yet, wasn't as funky. We were all just forming pretty. Bride has some fast friends who couldn't show, we the hybrids didn't have a to-do list because we believed the fasts had that covered and the bluenoses just came with their dresses alone! Chai, after all the money spent, we were only able to salvage the show a bit with some shabby twerking, pole-dancing and TMI on the male specie.
How would you plan your bestie's shower if you want to throw her one? This could be an idea for prospectives. Thank you.

Bridal showers depends on the bride what's sort of person is she and what does she consider fun? Secondly you have to be really tactful about who is going to be invited. No in-laws of the bride this is strictly about the bride and her friends you don't want that side of the family passing judgement-and they will. Ensure you invite like minded people there is a time and place for everything this will be the time for fun!
Classy can be restrictive imagine a pool sort of scenario where everyone sits around a pool worried about falling into the water thus ruining their weaves or at the beach constantly worrying about the sand and pretending to be nice to each other? You are a bit exposed at the beach as anyone can join in unless you are on a private beach It has to be interactive and racy
Host at a home or somewhere where people can be free, dance be as lewd as they like ,remind the bride of all sorts of things she did in her life , keep it fun the question of alcohol will also depend on whom is going to be invited.
Above all you need a good host and some excellent music if budget allows it get Dj that way no one has monopoly regarding the music .
The host has to be outrageous and full of humour
Food has to cater to most palates
And dress code you have to be able to dance so include this in the invites
In the end it's about enjoying yourself
We danced we spoke about marriage ,teased the bride the karma sutra book came out and we dared the bride to emulate each position with a volunteer of the hotnit rit she was "paid" if it was wrong the shots came out!
And so forth...

Sisoge, I'm a bluenose o jare, though not too blue. I belong to the class of people who like doing things low key. Wedding is a day while marriage is a lifetime, but nowadays people tend to forget.
When it's my turn I won't do all the feferity of pre-wedding photoshoots, bridal showers and all that. I have never attended a bridal or baby shower because I don't believe in such. What's the point of all that and it crashes in less than a year?
"Just do the ceremony on the D-day and get on with life", is my motto. I'm not even having a church wedding sef. Just just low key customary and court, daz all!
Thankfully HungerBad is a low key person too so that's a done deal
Many times we get carried away by the showmanship and razzmatazz, forgetting that the main thing itself is what matters most.

I have always opined church wedding is a wasted exercise for the spiritually enshadowed.
Nice views you have. But bachelor's night should be observed.

I'd want a small intimate gathering of close friends with gifts, good banter, good music and good food. No family members either
|Re: Bridal Shower...yes? by lezz(m): 5:34pm On Dec 10, 2016|
sisisioge:Not necessarily, but it may well be the crown of the night. By convention it is a night of last fücking. I could have a 3some and be done with it before venturing into the narrow path of marriage.
