Senate Has Not Rejected Magu – Falana by miikyphil(f): 11:30pm On Dec 16, 2016
Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), believed the Senate has not rejected Mr. Ibrahim Magu officially, after the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission was not confirmed on Thursday.
Falana said, “What the law says is that the Senate shall confirm an EFCC chairman; not an executive session, not a committee and the Senate has not done this.
“So, the Senate has not rejected him and if you look at what has been done, they are saying they received a security report for which reason they are not considering his nomination.”
Th this end, a group of lawyers, under the aegis of the National Association of Democratic Lawyers, demanded the disclosure of the nature and content of the “security report”, which the Senate relied on to reject the nomination of Magu.
In a statement on Thursday by its President, Mr. Luke Aghanenu, NADL said it was curious that the Senate would reject Magu in spite of the good performance of the EFCC under his watch as acting chairman.
The group said, “Perhaps it is to save its face from what obviously seems to be outright bias that it embarked on this rejection by invoking unexplained security reasons.

it seems Nigerian Senate re fond of contradicting themselves, so after Dino Melaye's drama @ d Senate plenary, they are coming up with this, same thing they did with data hike.
for Sure these Cabals hv been compromised and they are bent on shortchanging Nigeria for their own interests.

Simply because some people derive pleasure in confusing others and Falana is a genius in that regard. This is a man that supported freezing of a sitting governor's account just because he hates Fayose. That man shouldn't be taken serous any longer..

i stopped taking him serious a long time ago.

from the day he took sides with tinubu, i lost interest in his takes. he frustrated every attempt by gani to prove that tinubu forged his certificates

Nonsense! Is he the only Nigerian that can fight corruption? Is time we stop being rigid in appointment. Let him go and let another take his place. If truly he deserve the position, he will land another better place.
