By Jonathan Nda-Isaiah

Following criticism trailing President Muhammadu Buhari ‘s silence on the killings in southern Kaduna, the presidency said the President will not talk because Governor Nasir el-Rufai, , “is on top of the matter”.

Recall that over 50 people have lost their lives in some villages in southern Kaduna following attacks on the villages by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

In response to the situation, the Kaduna government had to impose a 24-hour curfew in Zangon- Kataf, Kaura and Jema’a local government areas .

LEADERSHIP recalls that after meeting with President Buhari last week at the presidential Villa,Governor el- Rufai said the President has given him unqualified support to stabilize the state and bring all those responsible for the violation of the laws to justice.

Speaking on Sunrise daily, a Channels TV programme, the special adviser media to the President, Femi Adesina said the governor who is the chief security officer of the state is meant to deal with issues like this.

Adesina said, “You don’t have to hear from the president on that matter. You see, when it pays us, we talk about federalism and true federalism, yet you want the president and presidency to talk about everything,”

“When things like this happen in a state, there is a chief security officer, he is supposed to be on top of the matter. Governor el-Rufai was at the villa on Thursday to brief the president, so why should the president then be talking about it?

“True federalism is the governor should be in charge and he is in charge of it.”

He further stated that state and local governments have a major role to play in dealing with herdsmen crisis.

“When these herdsmen attack happen, you need to see what the president is doing, always on the line with the governors and talking with them and getting updates,”

“And he has said it before – even former President Olusegun Obasanjo said it, this problem will be sorted out with the local governments and the states principally. The federal government has roles to play but not as much as the state and local governments, He stated.

what do you expect from buhari, his people and kinsmen orchestrated the killing. He must surely be mute to protect the image of his people. The next word from him will be something like the: main culprit of the killing in Kaduna are herdsmen from Libya and his other kinsmen (El Rufia) will blame the Niger delta militant. lol Nigeria really a funny country.

“True federalism is the governor should be in charge and he is in charge of it.”

Henceforth, governor's of every state in Nigeria should be in charge of securities in there various states by creating their own various state police while the NPF in every state should all be relocated back to Abuja were they rightfully belong since the presidency has suddenly accepted the practice of true federalism.

This sudden true federalism should also include every state to start fending for it's self by making use of all resources situated on its domain and the monthly criminal jamboree at Abuja called monthly allocation sharing should come to it's climax.

A government that sends federal armed forces to rig a state election but can't deploy same forces to hunt down Libyan Nigerian Fulani herdsmen terrorising all nukes and crannies of Nigeria is definitely an irresponsible government.

Buhari and his herdsmen are cowards. God will punnish u buhari and ur herdsmen. You will pay one way or the other. And for that stupid advisor, keep giving excuses for why buhari is turning deaf and dumb ear to the killing by herdsmen in all the federation. You are not deceiving Nigerian law but urself illiterate bastard. Why not vacate as a president and hand over the military might to be controlled by the state? Fool. With this statement he can be impeach.

Femi been used as the mouthpiece while Elrufai achieves this his tweet. After all Elrufai paid the herdsmen compensation which they used to equip their arsenal. Southern Kaduna, don't wait for Elrufai to save you guys with Buharian Army( his Jonathanian army tweet comes to mind), arm and save yourselves

This is just sad.
Is there any worse government than this in this world? From communist Asia and Democratic Europe, to Despotic Africa, I can't see any other worse government than this buhari-led government.
And I am not just saying this because I absolutely detest that old bag of bones angry. It is something I truly believe and can rationally defend.

God forgive me. Nigeria has a scumbag as her President, quite unfortunate.

The same !diot that will be the first to condemn killings in far away Palestine, Syria or "Western Germany". He is always the first to express solidarity with Saudi Arabia for disasters that befall mecca. Does it mean the Leaders of these countries were not at the top of their situations?

And to the citizens, your life is in your hands. Protect it with everything possible. These lunatics you have as leaders will not protect you.

Rufai is incompetent!

Not long ago he came on air and declared "we have paid fulani herdsmen to stop killings in Southern Kaduna".
Does that not create an amnesty bailout? The herdsmen can easily commercialize their atrocitoes and begin to trade arson and destruction with rewarding payroll.

The problem of fulani herdsmen has a solution and we have a presedence of that to go by in Ekiti. Rufai should use Ekiti as model, if truly he is honest about preserving Southern Kaduna and its natives.

I think Femi Adesina is not being truthful here because you can't tell me that in a state where over 50 lives were lost as a result of attacks from Fulani Herdsmen that the president cannot intervene ::::::Hmmmmmmm.....But they are quick to intervene in Rivers and Ekiti matters abi.....make una fear God abeg

@Byrron so true.
Femi Adesina just succeeded in confusing himself on the concept of "True federalism". because it's about the atrocities of the Fulani instead of talking about security he is preaching "true federalism"

Femi Adesina is just a dumbass. He's a complete dolt for yakking about federalism. Does he know the first thing about federalism or he picks and chooses what suits him? How can 50 lives get wasted and the person who controls the police and army is expected to remain passive because some midget is 'on top of the situation'? If only to give moral support and courage to the affected persons so they know they're not alone.

A governor imposes a 24-hour curfew and in the course of same curfew, such a horrendous attack occurs and Adesina actually has a reason for the inaction and silence of d president? Even in the US where we copied our bastardised federalism from, when occurrences like shootings in schools occur, the president addresses the nation and reels out immediate action plans while expressing sympathy for the affected persons yet some paid dirty lackey is talking federalism...what a shame!

It's terribl what we've seen in the country since Buhari came to power.

A whole village is wiped out by "Libyans" in Buharis words and a state governor is supposed to be on top of the matter.

Hmmm. The earlier these villages start buying sophisticated weaponry for thier protection the earlier they save themselves from these bloodsuckers in power.

If they buy weapons, soldiers will go collect it from them and then make them vulnerable.

Do you see why we brand this hopeless nation a huge zoo?
Police is waiting to be briefed.
Buhari relies on El Rufai while the same Governor El Rufai pays the jihadist killers to soft pedal on their onslaught.
But Nigeria military men are dancing along River Niger Bridge in Eastern Region. Zoo is a classical underestimation of what Nigeria really is. Tufiakwa!

I wonder why people are expecting a proven heartless person like Buhari to suddenly become human!

How many violence and murder has Buhari incited in the recent past? Have we suddenly forgotten the 2011 post election crisis? What did an aspiring president as at then do or say to calm the situation?

What about the "dogs and baboons being soaked in blood statement"?

Please no one should expect anything good from Buhari, kindness, goodness , sympathy, and empathy, is anathema to him.
