I quite agree with you. There were prophets in bible times. Agabus foretold about the famine of Acts 11:28 in the days of Claudus Caesar for brethren to send relief to them and Paul's imprisonment of 21:10 to dissuade him from going to Jesusalem.The question is, were the prophets in the bible petty as we see it now, were they predicting who will become the next governor, pilate, pharaoh or emperor at that time? Were they foretelling who was to live or who was to die? It is apparent that most of our present so called prophets are not called by God. They 'prophesy' for their bellies or for vain glory. Let those who are pastors preach the gospel that they are called to preach and stop this playing to the gallery. Thanks.
