hi

Mind who you sleep with. Even if he is your lover. You never can tell what kind of dream he will have.

A devoted husband recently killed his wife while sleeping thinking he was fighting an invader. He even had to call in the police!

^^^ LOL grin

No I guess he was sleep walking and instead of killing the invader (in his dream), he killed his wife (in reality)! That's sad!

"A devoted husband strangled his wife to death in his sleep while he dreamed he was tackling an intruder, a court heard yesterday.

Brian Thomas, who suffers from a sleep disorder, claims he reached out to grab the raider but instead throttled Christine, his wife of nearly 40 years.

He then dialled 999 and told the operator: 'What have I done? I've been trying to wake her. I think I've killed my wife. Oh my God. I thought someone had broken in.

'I was fighting with those boys but it was Christine. I must have been dreaming or something.

'What have I done? What have I done? Can you send someone?'

Thomas, 59, and his 57-year-old wife had been happily married and they had two grown-up daughters, Swansea Crown Court was told.

However, he had a history of sleep walking and other sleep disorders.

Before the killing, Thomas had stopped taking his medication so the couple could be 'intimate' while on holiday in Aberporth, west Wales.

On the night in July last year that Mrs Thomas died, the couple parked their camper van in a car park.

While they were trying to sleep, they were disturbed by a number of young people screeching their tyres, and the couple decided to move their van elsewhere.

At 3.49am, Thomas made the 999 call saying he thought he had killed his wife.

Ten minutes later, police found him crying and shaking. He said of his wife: 'She's my world.'

Experts specialising in sleep disorders carried out tests and agreed his behaviour was consistent with the 'legal concept of automatism'.

In court, Thomas, of Neath, south Wales, accepted he caused his wife's death but denied murder. Prosecutors want a 'special verdict of not guilty of murder by reason of insanity'.

Paul Thomas QC said: 'This was a case of insane automatism - because the sleeping disorder the defendant had suffered from since childhood was "part of him" and not something that could be cured.'

The alternative, he added, was a not guilty verdict in which case Thomas would go free. However, defence lawyers argue the automatism was temporary as it was brought on by the stress of dealing with the youths in the car park. The case continues."

I hope that help the fellow that called it senseless thread, cheers!
