I believe there must be strong reasons why the new speaker stept down... And folks should not be supprized if the powers that rule in abuja asked the man to sign to support gov. Ikpeazu's impeachment.(incase he wins @ the supreme court) i choose to look @ it from every angle.

On the contrary, resignations are commner in developed democracies where people do not hold unto power as if their lives depend on it.

British PM
Japanese PM
etc are examples

Its all a game..The main plan is to install Ikuku who is the son of the immediate former governor but unfortunately a first timer...This Ikuku and his father still run the state but GOD pass them...

MADNESS HAS MANY TYPES. THE ONE BECLOUDING YOUR SENSE REASONING IS CLTCLIPHATIC MADEA. WHEN YOUR GRAND FATHERS AFONJA WERE CLIMBING WALLS AND SCALING WINDOWS IN 1953 TO ENTER THEIR REGIONAL ASSEMBLY, YOU CALLED IT POLITICS. GET SENSE. POLITICS IS PLAYED ANYHOW. WHAT MATTERS IS COMMON GOAL AND INTEREST

i think you are from Chad or Niger republic. Ur comment does not show that u reason like someone from down south. I resined on personal grounds and you call it greed. Is it not better he resigns and save himself from embarrassment if he thinks he is not capable that go there and mess up. Or you think everyone is like Your President.

He is my Oga. He is not afraid of anything. Based on personal ground. I am even at the house of assembly now. Gov Okezie want to present the State Budget for 2017 now.

He didn't resign, he steps down from the Speaker's position.

You are so shallow minded, someone resigns because he believes he can't do the job, isn't this maturity. If a president admits the job is so much for him and steps asides for someone else, how is that a bad thing. You're such a shallow minded fellow. ...

How is this a leadership problem?. If our leaders have the courage to resign and refuse to accept jobs that they cannot do. Our country would be better off. This man just showed courage and maturity. But you on the other hand just displayed your low mindedness

How is the greed?, someone rejects a position you call it greed. You need to start using your brain more than your mouth.... It doesn't cost nothing.

mu.mu, if your Buhari had just a little common sense like that speaker, he would have resigned. Resignation shows maturity. Because your clueless leader would rather die than step aside, Nigeria's economy is gradually tilting towards the direction of Zimbabwe's and he's happily blaming GEJ. Useless leaders with useless apologists. smh

Yoruba man leave us alone. We are not the same people. Your sense of reasoning differs. British prime minister resigned months ago. Resignation on personal grounds is civility and commendable anywhere around the world.

His not a fool. People like you who talk from two Sides of the mouth will also condemn Robert Mugabe. The working conditions and environments is not favorable instead of messing up he resigned.
Allow Biafra to kill themselves is non of ur fucking business.

I don't really know the politics going on behind the scene in this case but its not a bad thing for political office holders to resign....in fact, its a good thing. Wish we had more "resigners" in Nigerian politics.
Once u realize u cannot function effectively in the office u were either appointed or elected to...resigning is a welcome option...instead of sitting tight and being a "space waster".

BTW, I just read something about the fact that he resigned so that power won't be concentrated in one part of the state.....
