Dana operates MD (McDonnell Douglas) aircrafts they planned on replacing em with newer ones the Boeing 737 800 series in particular. Guess they've sold one of them to Imo state govt cos this is an MD its engines are mounted at the tail |

Please I have one question for all the ppl that keep slamming Imo State Governor for every action he takes in the State. I may not be his fan. I am not even from the State. My question to you is: What will you do differently from what Gov. Rochas Okorocha is presently doing in Imo State. What will be your own wonderful line of action to move the state forward and make Imo Citizenry happy? |

There is a fundamental problem with the black man, especially the ones that come from Nigeria. How many planes were acquired to run this airline? One? If only one, how does the government intend to recoup investment and make profit? What is the traffic by air to imo state daily? What are the possibilities of having full boarding on each trip? It's common knowledge that Nigeria has one of the most expensive aviation fuel price, and most foreign airlines stop over to refuel at Ghana cos refueling there is cheaper. Now, with the high cost of aviation fuel, the economic recession that has led to a drop in air travel due to prices of air fares soaring higher, where does this leave the state government? We haven't even factored in the percentage the operators would charge... This to me, looks like an investment made to loot the state treasury. It's just a conduit pipe to launder money. 1 Like |

So by buying or leasing an age old Dana Aircraft, its now a brand new plane abi? Some posters on Nairaland need brain redevelopment surgery. RochaSS cannot scam me or deceive me. All the money obviously from this so called venture will end up in his soup pot #trash 1 Like |

Psoul:You need to ignore some of the rants from these pained souls. The hatred and criticism of the man is more due to partisanship (ApC) than due to his actions/inactions. I can bet you, all of the people rabidly criticising this idea would have fallen over themselves to laud the idea if it was another governor from the zone. 2 Likes |

Crass stupidity, empty headedness and a vain attempt at stealing public funds. This road leads nowhere else but worsening poverty for the State and its peoples. Poverty is indeed a mental exercise first before it becomes an outstanding experience. For goodness sake don't these people read. Which airline in the world makes profit consistently. Most are on subsidies, others heavily in debt. In Nigeria which airline is older than 20years. How many have lasted thirty. Which airline is in the Fortune 500 list. Who amongst the world's top twenty, thirty, forty rich list is a pure bred aviator. What is the typical contribution of the airline industry to the GDP of any typical country. Which country has been propelled out of poverty by investment in passenger aircraft. This is just so insulting and disgusting. If they wanted to offer DANA a backdoor bailout, it is not the responsibility of State but Federal institutions and there are dozens of industries and sectors ahead on the operating tables of this economic infirmary with far better socially uplifting potentials. Whoever made this foolish decision must be held accountable for the glaringly obvious misadventure. 2 Likes |
