Obasanjo came out to criticize those tending to rejuvenate the Biafra movement, calling them ‘Crazy’. People were of the opinion that he (Obasanjo) is selfish and also acting on the last Biafra war, but after some research, it’s decided that the most celebrated corrupt Nigerian has a point. Biafra did not succeed during its first attempt due to the leaders’ ignorance to the people’s need. While Ojukwu was doing his supreme commander philander, there was no checkmate of power, with everyone doing their own bids as they please, with nepotism on the rise, looting of Biafran funds, escalating product price due to scarcity and forgetting their sole aim of starting the movement itself “BIAFRA”, little did they know that their economy was falling into a struggling condition.

Most of us (new generation) did not know that the Biafran war lasted for almost three years and was almost successful until the vision and dreams of those who started it began to fade and was taken over by greed. In a big way, that community (Biafra) can also be referred to as ‘Nigeria without the war’. Most people work very hard in order to meet their dreams and create a beautiful utopia for their coming generation, but our selfish leaders who would prefer to loot our money in the UAE, Europe, and all other developed nations, while we are still struggling with under development.

President Buhari has started a movement to curb crime in Nigeria, with hope from the affected masses to honestly do a good job and not disappoint like past leaders. The Nigeria today, recites the word “Recession” like a child’s nursery rhyme without knowing what the word stands for! Recession means less trade and industrial activities with a high unemployment rate in a country during a given period. Tackling this situation have lots of perks by creating policies that will counter the Recession. Be rigid with the rule of law, change the constitution to battle corruption and full support of the populace to back the ruling government in decision making. Doing that means we (Nigerians) will have to be patient with the government cause, during this period will be very tasking as it may look like all hope is lost and not adhering to laid down plans will only make the task longer to achieve.

All these proposed solutions sound lovely but without massive support for the policies, we will only suffer more. Like China, to battle such trying time they put in place a constitutional law that punishes corrupt official by Killing them when caught and going as far as removing their names from any federal achievements, by so tarnishing their reputation and family pedigree of the corrupt official. We one day may or may not turn into a failed state like the Biafra with high hopes but little to show for it. Let’s hope it rise into the Nigeria we all crave for.

I agree. No nation that ever ruled the world got there by wishful thinking, immorality and injustice.

This period of recession is an opportunity for us to start laying the foundation stones of a truly great African country, that is if we are not too blind to see the potentials before us.

Some philosopher once said that the way in is usually the way out, and I'm surprised that this administration can't see it, that which is right before their noses.

Our mind set as a people played and is still playing a vital role in our present predicament

Greed is one of the factor and there is no doubt about that but my quarell is "how can one renovate a scyscraper with a bad foundation which is likely to collapse at any point in time?"

The answer is obvious, you cant.

If you must, then the skyscraper has to go down.

Lets go back to the drawing board and start all over again

Until Igbo people start looking at each other's back, Biafra will hardly stand. From experience your fellow Igbo will need a help from his brothers ( rented a shop, needs 50k to complete the rent, instead of helping, he goes behind his back and pay double of that rent). So please tell me how will they move forward.... ?

Yes...the usual 'Igbo -should-forget-about-Biafra-and-unite-our-anti-Igbo-muslim skulls' narrative.

Why these people think they have thw right to determine how big Igbos should dream amazing.

You are so sure Biafra will become south sudan, yet when the East says 'no problem, we'll take our chances and build from the scratch, your anti-Igbo skull starts lamenting 'upandan' that Igbo won't shift ground on Biafra. Are you not the demented one here?

A chinese proverb says 'One who believes it cannot be done should step aside and allow he who believes he can'

If Biafrans even believe they can build a country greater than American, why should it be the problem of a one poverty-stricken yoruba muslim in oshogbo armed with a china phone under a brown roof.

Have Biafrans stopped oduduwans from believing they can build the greatest country in the universe?
