Better tell your militant brothers in the ND and the olojukokoro iPod youths that collide with them to stop bursting pipelines, and leave the innocent Fashola alone. Its annoying when the same people responsible for a problem start opening their dirty criminal mouths to complain about the same problem they caused!
Yes, as a resident re!tard you are; who is use to the NIGERIAN system and swallows everything thrown at him by the thieves in govt cos he has no mind of his own.. what happens to other alternatives ( of providing power)
Are developed countries not still using coal till today and imbeciles like yourself sit here and talk Global_warming.. does it mean if there was to be no gas in the Deltas, Nigeria won't have light or find other ways of providing light??

I was in a West african country when they were having temporal power issue, the ppl forced the then govt to look for alternative power source to ameliorate the power situation then ..
The govt swing into action and by hook or crook, brought power badge and bought power from their neighboring country for her citizens..
What do we have in Nigeria, issue of power is now subject for 40 days fasting and prayer and i'diot like you see no PROBLEM with that

can u share d cost and components in the package

Yeah, sure. It's MTN's lumous solar panel and battery pack. I think it goes for about 25K right now. If ur the type that uses his laptop, phone and other e-gadgets very much with work, it will be of great aid. It also comes with 2 very bright bulbs.

Honestly, I think you should just call them and have it all explained for you. smiley I think it's a great way to reduce dependency on PHCN a bit. Cheers

Everybody is striving to provide electricity for themselves when we have a govt that's more interested in buying bullet proof cars for themselves and family

Why nt solar,
With ur solar panels and inverter,
U good to go

Heard there is lotta wind in the north though

I know a lot of people that say Solar power is tooo expensive and that you still need a gen to operate it.

Everything is xpensive , and it gets much xpensive each day,
And u dnt need to run gen , everthing depends on the capacity of ur inverter, and the loads u hav at home
With ur solar Panels and ur inverter system ,
The panel charges ur battery,
The inverter converts to a.c ,
Then d bulb shines,
Its more economical than burning fuel

God Bless This Fellow.. May God cause his Face to shine upon you.. May anything you touch yield fruits for you.. May you live Long and May you become a Leader in this country..

Thank You and You too.

Its sad that majority of our people do not know the main cause of our economic downturn, recession was just a catalyst that triggered it. We talk about small scale businesses being the solution to end recession and industrial revolution that aided western world after the war. However, we forget that these two factors were dependent on power. Every small scale business idea that people have conceived, has been dead on arrival because majority of them are dependent on power. Imagine we could have 24hrs uninterrupted, manufacturing companies will begin to spring up and create the much needed employment, security will increase when there is working street light and cctv (cos many crimes are committed in the dark), people will feel free to live any parts of the country cos industries would be located in remote areas (as main cities are congested) , Telecoms will charge less and wont need fuel to power their mast, People in diaspora will be happy to come home and develop the land cos the cost of living is less expensive here, foreign investors will be happy to invest cos of our low cos of labor ($100 per month is enough for some people). Businesses will sustain by cutting their overhead cost of fuel etc.

To correct the op it is called a wind turbine not wind mill and no it will not generate 24hr power, small wind turbines located in built up areas are very inefficient because of turbulence arising from the buildings and other obstructions.

A Nigerian man tired of the country's epileptic power supply has installed a windmill so he can generate his own electricity.

His neighbour Deji Garuba shared the story on Instagram and said:
My neighbor has had enough of #PHCN wahala. The guy just installed a windmill to generate power. We haven't had #PHCN power for more than 30hrs in the last one year, the cost of running generators is neck breaking. This is what my dear country has become, electricity has become space science that the government can not easily provide or even encourage efficient private sector participation in the provision of power. God help us all!

Much of the power infrastructure had already been privatized long before Rocket scientist showed up, so it isn't his fault, his ministry is directly responsible only for transmission

For generation to improve, and by extension for us to get light 24/7, we need to get up to 80000mw...which means millions of billions of dollars. And we have to replace the transmission system too.

Hence Gej privatizing the whole thing.
but there was an agreement with the privation process which is the new disco promise to give 5time of phcn 100percent income, but today the disco are given 20percent of what phcn are generating to the country account. now all the disco were sold on corruption which there is a bound if they fail to deliver after 5year government should take it from them and control it them self but the rise of corruption in nation dued to cabal are bought with money and even if they see the truth , they will take away there face dued to selfish greediness..God bless Nigeria, God bless our Nation and All our leader...It is well..

you have to have enough solar panels to generate enough electricity also
its not by having many solar panels alone but also having enough batteries to store the energy.

This isn't a wind mill,it is a wind turbine / wind generator. A windmill uses wind to mill (grind)grains

Good idea

But a windmill works only if the wind is constant.

Which is why big windmills are built by the seaside for example.

Solar is still a good alternative
no sun at night, banker!

As citizens, what do we even stand to benefit from this government? Security, they can't provide. Job, they can't give. Water, story for another day. Power they can't. Good roads, no hope. Housing, no hope. Even fuel that we have in abundance, they still can not make it available

We provide everything for ourselves. Why then do we even need government?

The only thing they've got for us is hardship hardship hardship
what have you done to change it

he can build industrial parks to take load off the grid while powering industry

Can also finance solar wind or hydro on lease to individuals so they pay ''mortgage ''

He can enforce distribution of meters to stop easy money of estimated bill which will force improvements in generation
