Our bill for February was #52,978.82....
Can you beat that?... Just for a single compound, Just my family, no tenant, no business of sort. Less electricity, if there is any agency to be probe by EFCC it's certainly this electricity companies.

What marvel me most is my neighbour, he was disconnected for a month and they still brought him bill. Is he paying for his SINS?...

It is the same story in many parts of Nigeria. Every DISCO uses this same method of sharing outrageous estimated bills to consumers for poor electricity supply, as a way to increase their revenue generation scheme. Eko Electricity Distribution Company (i.e.Eko Disco or EKEDC) is the worst culprit in this regard! Benin Electricity Distribution Co. (BEDC) which is in charge of Sapele, learnt the tricks of the trade from them! Welcome to the real world. sad The world where useless Discos act with impunity.

They should Protest to Oghara, the hometown of former governor of Delta state, James Ibori. During the time of plenty Ibori looted the treasury of Delta state depriving them of money to develop a state of the art electricity infrastructure. With all the abundant oil and gas found to be deposited in Delta states, the state have no business experiencing power outages or power failures if the likes of Ibori and Uduaghan had use the Pet-dollars that rained freely during their regime effectively. Instead Ibori and Uduaghan prefer to buy "THE BAHAMAS ISLAND" for themselves.

What happened to the abandoned independent power plant that was started by Ibori.

It was actually abandoned by Ibori despite the fact that there was so much money in the delta state government treasury.

Ibori looted the treasury and use the money to buy properties in London which the British government is about to seize in the Uk following Ibori conviction by a UK court.

So instead of protesting ignorantly take your protest to Oghara it is just a stone throw from Sapele. Governor Emmanuel Iwetan Uduaghan an Ibori stooge and brothers is also guilty of corruption just like Ibori during the time he served as governor of Delta state.
Your Ignorance is world class

Funny enough it is Ibori sister-town-kinsmen that are protesting against power failure. They have forgotten so soon the financial atrocities of James Onanefe Ibori and his brother in crimes, Emmanuel Uduaghan.

It is the same Oghara and Sapele people that cut timber and place it on the entrance to Ibori country home threatening the Nigerian security agencies not to come and pick Ibori to answer charges against him.

Now that Ibori has looted their money depriving them of power and taking the money to buy properties in London and the "THE BAHAMAS ISLAND" they want federal government to help them solve the power problem and reduce electricity tariff.

To add salt to injury, some of Ibori kinsmen, host of traditional rulers in Delta states, businessmen, contractors went to welcome the convicted treasury looter at the airport, held parties here and there and also went to the pulpit of God to hold another so called thanksgiving services for a criminal.

Poor soul!

That is not wrong and it is even good but I really thought they were protesting against corruption in Nigeria; in the houses of assembly, in immigration, in the police force, in custom, among the assembly members and indeed everywhere even among most of us who are protesting.

Why are you displaying your silliness. Outrageous bill issued for darkness is also caused by Ibori.

You dey mind am? sad Am not a fan of Ibori, but the blame for these huge bills that bear no correlation with the power supplied, should be laid squarely at the doorsteps of the Discos! angry

Are you also aware that ibori fought for the substation being installed in sapele? Are you aware that he make sure sapele and oghara enjoy constant power supply?

Fashola should make use of d Sapele water nd generate more light for them
The painful aspect of it is that Sapele has Thermal Power Station [Ogorode Power Plant] which generates electricity for other parts of Nigeria, but residents of the town have not benefited because there is no functional step down to bring them the light.
