obafemee80:

Every Prophet sent by Allah was given miracles and signs. These miracles depended on which people that particular prophet was sent to, what they believed in and the sort of things they would understand.

Prophet Yunus was swallowed by a whale and he survived.
Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) survived the blazing fire that his people threw him into.
Prophet Musa (pbuh) had a walking stick that could turn into a serpent, and he used it to split the Red Sea in two.
Prophet Jesus (pbuh) could raise the dead and cure the blind, and he also spoke from his cradle. Of course these miracles were done under the commandment of the Supreme Being, God.
But did you know that the seal of Prophets, Muhammed (pbuh) also performed miracles? Here are some fascinating ones:

#1. Invisibility

When the Prophet (pbuh) planned to migrate to Medina, the tribes in Mecca conspired to assassinate him once and for all. Each tribe sent an assassin and they surrounded the house of the Prophet (pbuh) that night. But the Prophet (pbuh) walked out right in front of them and none of them saw him. They were blinded to him.

#2. The camel in the sand incident

The Prophet and Abu Bakr (peace be upon them) were on their way to Medina when they were being followed by an assassin named Suraqa. When Abu Bakr got worried, the Messenger (pbuh) told him, “Don’t be sad; Allah is certainly with us.” Then he (pbuh) cast a glance at Suraqa and his horse’s feet became stuck in the sand. Suraqa managed to get the feet of the horse but when he tried to follow the Prophet (pbuh), his horse’s legs got stuck again and smoke was coming from where the sand. Suraqa realized this was beyond him and had to go back.

#3. Talking with the Jinn

In one narration, a jinni called “Hama” came in the form of an old man carrying a staff; he accepted Islam. The Noble Messenger (PBUH) instructed him in some of the short chapters of the Qur’an, which he listened to and then departed.”

#4. Water flowed from his blessed hands

Once the Prophet was with his companions, about 300 of them in a place called Zawra. It was time to observe the afternoon prayer but the people could not find any water to make wudu. They Prophet ordered them to look for little water, when they did, he dipped him hands into it and water was flowing from his hands like a fountain. All three hundred people who were there made wudu and used it for other needs.

#5. The night journey (Isra) and ascension (Miraj)

This is one of the most amazing miracles of the Prophet (pbuh). It is called Al Isra wal Miraj. It was the night that the Prophet (pbuh), under the guidance of archangel Gibril (pbuh) travelled the Kaaba in Makkah to Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem and then to the sky, to the high realms and to the presence of God. On this journey, he met the Prophet before him including Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus) and Ibrahim (Abraham). He led them in prayer. He reached a very high place where he could hear the pens writing people’s deeds. He saw heaven and hell. And he (pbuh) was elevated, and he met his Lord, the Magnificent, and the merciful. This incident is narrated in the holy Quran and hadith.

#6. The moon split

The polytheists at the time of the Prophet (pbuh) keep insisting that they wanted a miracle. They said they will believe if The Prophet (pbuh) could show them the splitting of the moon in half. When Allah granted the Prophet the ability, he called them all to witness, and the moon split in two. And indeed it was a clear manifestation. But in their arrogance, they still rejected the truth. This incident is also narrated in the Holy Quran.

#7. The lifeless objects and animals communicated with the Prophet (pbuh)

On several occasions, trees, stones, mountains and sand would greet the Prophet (pbuh) when he passed. Once, a Jew roasted a goat, filling it with a very strong poison. She then sent it to God’s Messenger (PBUH). But before the Prophet (pbuh) touched the food, the goat spoke to him and informed him of the poison. So he told everyone to abstain from the food.

#8. The dead affirmed the Prophet-hood of Muhammed (pbuh)

In one narration, one of the companions of the Prophet (pbuh) suddenly dropped down dead in the marketplace. The people took his body to his house. That evening between sunset and the night prayer, while the women were weeping all around him, the corpse exclaimed: ‘Silence! Silence!’ Then he said: ‘Muhammad is God’s Messenger! Peace be upon you, O Messenger of God!’ He spoke so eloquently for a while that the people had to uncover him to check. But he was really dead.

#9. Food galore

The Messenger of Allah fed more than a hundred people from very small food. Whenever he placed his blessed hands on any food, he caused it to increase and everyone could eat to their fill and still have left over. In one narration, he (pbuh) fed more than a hundred men from one cup of milk. Each person would drink to his fill and pass to the next without refilling. And each of the men drank to their satisfaction, and the cup was still filed with milk as though it was never touched.

#10. The Prophet could heal the sick

In one narration, one of the companions was hit by an arrow in his eye. The arrow was so deep it was sticking out at the back of his head. The Messenger (pbuh) placed his hands over the eye and it healed.

The greatest miracle of Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) is the Quran. But that is an entire discussion in its own and we will look into that some other time In Sha Allah.

Why is the Quran incomplete?

Unknown to most muslims, the Quran is actually an incomplete book. One of Muhammad’s most devout companions Ibn Umar wrote in Al Suyuti Al Itqan Fi Ulum al Quran:

"Let none of you say he has acquired the entire Quran, for how does he know that it is all? Much of the quran has been lost. Thus, let him say, “ I have acquired what is available”.

This fact is confirmed in Sahih Muslim 2286 where it is said that:

There used to a surah that was the length of Surah Baraa’at , but it was forgotten and never found its way into the quran.

The same hadith also says that muslims once used to recite a surah which resembled one of the surah’s of Mussabihat, but this surah had also been forgotten and was never included in the quran.

In Sahih Bukhari Vol. 6: 61:527 we find further confirmation that some materials have been lost from the quran:

“Ubbay was the best of us in the recitation of the quran yet we leave some of what he recites. Ubbay says, “I have taken it from the mouth of Allah’s messenger and will not leave it for anything whatever.”

Ubbay was one of the best four teachers of the Quran (along with Ibn Masoud, Salim and Mu’adh) and yet what this hadith shows us is that there were materials in Ubbay’s Quran which could not be found in other Qurans.

Interestingly, Aisha, muhammad’s child bride recalls that there are two verses of the quran, one about stoning and another about breastfeeding an adult man ten times, which were excluded because they were eaten by a goat! (See Sunan ibn Majah 1944)

Amazing. He could do all this and yet it was NEVER recorded in the Quran.

For someone who was supposed to be a "prophet" Muhammad did a lot of strange things.

In Shahih Bukhari Vol II No. 167 we learn that there was an eclipse of the sun and Mohammad was terrified that it was judgment day.

Questions:
Why would a “prophet” of God not be able to distinguish between an eclipse, which is a perfectly normal natural phenomenon, and Judgment Day?

Why would a “prophet” of God be terrified of Judgment Day? Shouldn’t he in fact be looking forward to the day?

In the Bible, Christians are told to rejoice when they see signs that the Judgment Day is approaching: Psalm 96:13 : “Let all creation REJOICE before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the earth in righteousness and peoples in his faithfulness.”

So why was a "prophet" of God terrified of his judgment. Shouldn't he have rejoiced?

You know nothing about what you are writing. Why can't you make thorough research on it rather than posting what you know not. Below are the response to your points

1. All these miracles can never be rocorded in the Qur'an as the Qur'an is solely the words of Allah. It is revealed by Allah to prophet Muhammad S.A.W. For You to get Muhammad words, you need to visit hadith.

2. Muhammad S.A.W was never terrified because of the sun eclipse. Here is the hadith you quoted
SOHIH BUKHARI VOL 2. 169-
NARATED ABU BAKR: IN THE LIFE TIME OF THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD S.A.W, THE SUN ECLIPSED AND THEN HE OFFERED A TWO RAKATS PRAYER.
Now tell me in the above quotation where He was terrified!

3. You quoted psalm 96:13, let the world hear you that this is Jesus A.S statement!

Mind you, O.p is not forcing you to embrace Islam and He is not writing to please you!

May Allah forgive you.

Nigeria is a country whose citizens strive to go to school, but most actions and speeches of such 'educated' persons leaves me flabbergasted. But let me take the pains to broaden your very narrow research capabilities. Go to the Catholic Encyclopedia and check the age of Mary, mother of Jesus when she married Jacob the carpenter; she was 12 while Jacob was 99. This was the NORM at that time! And for your information, Saint Augustine, a christian, married a 10 year old girl in 350 AD. King Richard II in 1400 AD married a 7 year old girl. King Henry VIII in 1500 AD married a 5 year old girl. So who's fooling who here? Try and get yourself enlightened before you burp.

Proof that Christians do not worship the same "god" that these people worship.

Hadith 2:167

Narrated Abu Musa:

The sun eclipsed and the Prophet got up, being afraid that it might be the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment). He went to the Mosque and offered the prayer with the longest Qiyam, bowing and prostration that I had ever seen him doing. Then he said, "These signs which Allah sends do not occur because of the life or death of somebody, but Allah makes His worshipers afraid by them. So when you see anything thereof, proceed to remember Allah, invoke Him and ask for His forgiveness."

Try and understand the hadith well before blabbing rubbish

Why are muslims not performing the same miracles and wonders like their prophet? But their Christian counterparts are still performing same miracles that their own prophet did. I am just curious. But please, if you can't give me good answer don't criticise me. Attack the question not my person...
Lol! Performing miracles? Please what miracle did pastor E.A Adeboye perform, or what miracle did Pastor Kumuyi perform or Pastor Chris? Don't be fooled by miracles brother. Even herbalists perform miracles too

Make una no make person laugh.

Where is the evidence that mohammed performed any miracle please ?

Unlike Jesus that it's well documented.
Jesus is shown to heal people.

I beg show us where Mohammed performed his own miracle.

Matthew 15:
29] And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.

30] And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and HE HEALED THEM

And what proof do u have that Jesus did any of these?

Yup i

Alhamdullilah alla nihmat-ul-Islam
Only a Believer would know that The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) could do even more than this.
The unbelievers (kufars) will never believe this cos their hears has been blocked and heart has also been blocked only Almighty Allah can show the right path to whoever he wishes.

Whether herbalist or not can an average imam do what they do? I just wanted to know why prophet Mohammed didn't transfer his spiritual power listed above to his followers? Did he take it along to the grave? I believe that power, whether spiritual or not needs to be transfered for the betterment and nourishment of this religion via his disciples. Cause a lot of Muslims are running to churches for miracles, and they are getting it. If an Imam or Alfa can pray and heal someone then why should Muslims be running helter-skelter? My Muslim friends and brothers always run to a white garment church(celestial church) whenever the going gets tough...
