Well I have it mine is not fine at all. Coupled with the fact that I do stutter when I speak has given me Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). This affected me during my late teenage to early twenties.then u just don't give a Bleep as a defense mechanism to combat the depression.well I decided I am not gonna procreate, so as not to pass my weak genes to anyone. If I have money i would go for corrective surgery fast fast.

I have a gap teeth and it has never been of disadvantage to me. Though it attracts much attention than normal especially when you are handsome or cute. Gap teeth is a norm in my family, dad and mum has it too.

As for the white they will not like what they dont have, at least not so common like we have in the black race. If they can perfectly create a fake gap tooth that can be used to chew, watch gap teeth become the new ish..

In case you don't know, I have a very wide gap-tooth known as DIASTEMA(thank me later for learning something new ).
Yes, everybody admires or love this special gift but hardly do they know that we face a lot of stuffs with this gift . I do receive a lot of compliments, In fact before anybody notice my new cloth, na my diastema they will first praise before admiring my new cloth .
Back in school, I was named different funny names, Ejiwunmi(I wish to have diastema), Eji n jo rice(that rice will be coming out of my gap), A fi Eji gba oko oloko(the funniest, that I use the gift to snatch somebody's else husband). With this gift, we have the following problems

1. We pronounce voiced sounds as voiceless, its like that because air passes out through the gap and produce it as voiceless . This usually sounds so funny and people make jest of it not knowing that its because of what you admire

2. Sometimes, people thought its an accident that brought about the gap and they will start to dey pity you which is kind of embarrassing . In this situation, I dont even explain myself .

3. You are not allowed to take pix without showing the gap especially with friends and photographers. Cant we just close our mouth and snap

4.Whites sees it as an iron deficiency coupled with a vitamin D deficiency loosening and losing two of the top molars on each side, hence expanding the gap of question . I dont even understand the big big 'Englishes'

the only thing that annoys me is some men at my work will be so rude to tell you how much they fantasize about getting their tongue stuck inbetween your diastema, plus one dentist even told me one time to take 100k to fill my diastema because it was a deficiency, I was like wtf!

I'm just grossed out with this. I got such stupid comment one time and almost slapped the fool.

Hmmmm my own major challenge with the gap teeth is eating meat and dragging food with my front teeth my gosh!!!!!! not funny anyways.

some ladies I learnt go as far as creating artificial gap with quacks which is risky because they see it as a fashion trend don't know if it's still trending you can confirm it esp from the south west eg lagos and south south region, so where are you from?

Guy, leave where I am from because it has nothing to do with the topic. I was only surprise to see people saying that gap tooth is a disease and that it also disturbs them because mine has never for once disturbs me despite having the up and down gap.

It looks good on most people and it can be quite an attribute until one starts to age and it begins to widen or misshape. Some even find it a menace when the tip of their tongue starts to get marked and then cut by their teeth. Some will need to wear braces to hod them in place for a long time.

All in all. It's no big deal. Enjoy the beauty of it while it lasts cos when you use braces, it could close out completely thus the end of a beautiful journey with your adorable gap teeth.
