Nice wide sidewalk provided for pedestrians in Abakaliki. The open gutter could have been covered though.

One of the advantages Ebonyi state has is a enough SPACE to do anything.
No choking, no grid lock.

Why exactly were some of my people doing everything possible to bring Ndi Yoruba into this thread, by trying to gourd and taunt them?

Doesn't make sense. You people should keep this thread clean.

Pics of Abakaliki. Fourth one shows the ongoing construction of cement based roads in neighbourhoods.

YouTube video attached below is of a trip around some rural roads in Ebonyi State. You can also see how solid the new cement roads look and how they improve the driving experience in the rural communities. Also notice the street lights installed.

I wonder where Umahi is getting the money for all this quality jobs he's doing. You can see he has an eye for detail as well as aesthetics too.

You're right. Normally i'd have said something about it, but given that this is Ebonyi we're talking about i think i'll cut them some slack. At least the surroundings during the drive to the school was lush and green. I even noticed sidewalks at some point!

One thing i love about this thread is that it was started by an Anambra person.

People like him by their action shame Chino and Abagworo in their futile campaign to spread hate and discord prevalent in Nigeria into the SE.

They have failed and will continue to fail no matter how many monikers they create to spread hate.

If only the indigenous people of the state are wealthier to complement this impeccable road transformation by building beautiful houses like we we have seen in other Eastern threads, Ebonyi will be among the best....The Governor indeed has done well!

Media chat the governor held in Abakaliki recently to mark democracy day. He covered all areas of the gov'ts achievements in the last 3 years...covering all sectors of governance. I have to admit i'm impressed with what has and is being done thus far...esp' given the position Ebonyi occupies on federal funds receipts. Where is he getting all the money to do all these projects and schemes?

For those in Nigeria with data conservation issues, it's worth using some to watch these clips (esp' if you're Ebonyian) as they're very informative.

Lafarge and Ibeto are fastracking plans to open their cement factories in the next few months (clip 7, at 2.25).

You know the federal gov't is stealing the resources of Ebonyi State (clip8, at 9.33), and when the state gov't confronts the ministry of solid minerals about this the ministry tells them that it's their right to exploit these resources! I hope you can all see what 'one Nigeria' is all about? The low receipts Ebonyi gets from the federal gov't while states like Kano and Katsina get a hundred times more makes this injustice and wickedness all the more unpalatable!

How come there's no updates to news, pics and videos on this thread like we see with the Anambra, Enugu and Imo threads? I'm sure there's stuff to report on, as the governor (despite my misgivings on his penchant for kissing Buhari butt) seems to be actually doing well.

Here's a short music video i found, showing a few drone-shots of Abakaliki and environs. At certain points i doubted it was Abakaliki they were showing (0.38, 0.51 and 1.00) as i thought they stole a few shots of a city in Europe or America! They were that impressive, with lush/green vegetation!
