Its not yet time for a revolution; many Nigerians don't see anything wrong with our country; some of them are in their confusion praying for the health of Yar Adua.

You cannot have a revolution while waiting for credible people to be at ready, the popular government will simply kill them, bribe them or EFCC them to death.

Abiola had the right idea (sudden revolution) but he moved without gauging the interests and loyalty of his fan-base (Nigerians) . so when he made his move, he looked back and lo and behold, we where all in our living rooms watching the action from a safe distance  grin

A revolution takes careful study for a weak-point-in-time in the country's social, economic and political health. Nigeria as of this moment has several weaknesses that can be leveraged on to launch a massive revolution, but she also has some strengths that can easily thwart any attempts at a social revolution.

Points to leverage for a revolution in Nigeria
1: Economic Health (Poverty, Unemployment, Poor International trade advantages, weak agriculture, power)
2: Social Health (Corruption, religious and ethnic intolerance, MEND, poor state security, crime, education and health)
3: Political Health (election-rigging, party-infighting, poor leadership, NAS and Senate squabbles etc)

These three points of weakness are enough negativity to ride on to rouse masses into a revolution (with adequate weapons)

However there are also weaknesses (strengths to the reigning government) on the side of the Masses
1: Weak Unification of ideals (the down-trodden masses are split between political, religious and ethnic affiliations in spite  of their poverty-ridden condition)
2: Unified, Aggressive and Disciplined Military and security forces who have a knack for dismantling social groups with extreme prejudice.
3: Weak Religious structures: Religion is often seen as a weapon of mass education and can be used to whip up citizenry into social action that can unhinge any government.

We are far from any kind of revolution even if for a brief moment

This calls for prayer for the nation because dis is not ordinary. Millions of children are finding it difficult to eat 2 square meal a day, many have no job to enable dem support their family, many av resulted to stealing from others at gun point, many are sick and can't afford medical bills e.t.c. In-spite of d state of health and leaving conditions of ordinary Nigerians, 7billion naira is been approved for a HOUSEEEEEEEEE   angry What message do dey think dey are sending out "The seat of power is a GOLD mine or an opportunity to better d life's of poor Nigerians?"

There is something WRONG somewhere

I am just praying for the day i become the leader of Nigeria all these politicians and shady businessmen will be arrested and executed via firing squads. They are all thieves ,all politicians above the age of 25 should be investigated and severely dealt with.

Top on my list for immediate execution without trial are ;

Babangida
Obasanjo
Abubakar
Jonathan
Abacha family members
babangida's children
Buhari
House of senate members
House of assembly members
Some state governors
local government councillors
kaduna Mafia members
Former currupt military officer
current and former top police officers
Igbenidion senior
Dangote
Shell directors
Chevron directors
Mobil directors
Other shady oil companies
Lucky igbenidion
Otedola
Adenuga
Young saraki
Femi fani kayode
PDP party members
E.t.c

I am currently preparing private files documenting years of fraudulent practice which has resulted in the downward spiral of the nigerian economy by the above mentioned people. The stolen assets of all the above named persons will be seized and handed over to specialist foreign firms who will manage them and generate income for the Nigerian government.Their relative who have benefiited from the ill gotten loot will be exiled from the nation never to return again.

Nigeria does not need political parties or politicians ,Nigeria need one strong ,ruthless and disciplined leader.

50million Dollars?! . . , that's a whole lot of money
Politics . , . . . that,s why they kill to be part of it.
Re: Vice Presidents House To Cost 7 Billion Naira by kolemm: 8:18pm On Dec 29, 2009
I dont think 50million dollars is to much for a befiting house for our VP. Knowing fully well that costs of materials are now on the high side.

Bullet-proof doors, Bullet-proof roofing sheets are all expensive.
Diamonds and other precious stones are likewise costly. So i think, 50m usd is still o.k
Re: Vice Presidents House To Cost 7 Billion Naira by Abeem(m): 1:50am On Dec 30, 2009
The VP presently resides in Akinola Aguda house which was renovated in 2007 along with the senate president's (at a cost of 400 million naira) and the speaker's house (earmarked for 628 million naira) which eventually led to the sack of Patricia Eteh as Speaker.
In living up to its tradition as the haven or the nest of sleaze and corrupt malpractices, the Federal Government has decided to build new residences for the speaker, the senate president in addition to the one being planned for the VP. According to the Punch newspapers, when Adamu Ailero was asked why new residences are being proposed for these three, he said that "the existing residences for NASS top functionaries in Apo Village can no longer shield them from the general public." Incredible!
The wastage is not limited to the construction of new residences for the top NASS people. The useless Federal Government through the Minister of Finance, Muktar, is proposing to buy four new jets for the Presidential Air Fleet at a cost of 31.5 billion ($210 million) at this period of economic downturn when there is paucity of funds for critical development projects.
Why not these allocations be diverted to the construction of a first-class hospital which will serve all Nigerians? If the leaders can afford to go abroad for medical treatment at the slightest sign of headache, what about the rest of the population who have no access to steal money like them? Why must the resources of all be expended on only a few? Why? Why? Why? The annoying thing is the NASS who is expected to act as a check on the excesses of the executive is not alive to its responsibility. If anything, they are accessory and partners in looting the treasury and would only rubber stamp the budget without questioning the rationale of the projects.
Nigeria is blessed with leaders who have no modicum of shame and sense of guilt. Must we allow their thieving rendezvous to continue unchecked? I don’t think so. Therefore, the time to checkmate their excesses is now. Delay may be injurious to our corporate existence as a nation.

With all the bunkers and landing space for private jet included in the sum? Fairplay to you Sir, you are very modest and considerate! Your term in office shall know no end, wallahi! Other greedy politicians could have spent more than this.

Long live Nigeria cry!

Re: Vice Presidents House To Cost 7 Billion Naira by PAD: 5:01am On Dec 31, 2009
The house is probably about 1 billion naira. The remaining 6 billion naira will be transferred to a foreign account for him and Julius Berger to split based on the arrangement. Nigeria needs serious sanitizing. Why give this contract to foreigner? There are Nigerians in diaspora (if not in Nigeria) who can build the same house. What is wrong with these people? Seven billion dollars I hope this is not true.

How many unites of moderate housing for ordinary Nigerians will #7 billion construct for Christ sake.
Re: Vice Presidents House To Cost 7 Billion Naira by Vilary: 11:03am On Jan 02, 2010
#7million to build one person's house because it has to befit him. Too much personal agenda. Nigeria would have been far better and developed if we were still under military rule. America has good leaders but are plagued with natural disasters; are our leader not worse than the natural disasters that they face out there? Of all the befitting things the country needs; roads, education, infrastructure, unemployment, power to mention but a few, the priority's still to waste that huge sum in one person's house. God have mercy!

I am just laughing and cant stop, 'we dey craz for this country'

Can the FG tell us the cost implication in building the main Aso Rock.

Was it Babagidan or Abacha that build Aso Rock sef?, how much did they use to complete it. Am sure the Land is not paid for as it will be a government land.

If you build a house for 50million dollar for a VP of a country like Nigeria, then maintaining it in year will cost nothing less than 1.3M dollars every single year.

am sure not only glass block shall be use, Gold block will also be used. Many countries of the world that are well richer than Nigeria are not using 50M dollars to constructs their presidential villa.

sha we also the reason why most people want to kill their self on top politics. when i watch then on TV taking, most of the cannot give a five minutes speech without reading a script.
