They just had to smuggle in Jonathan's name somehow.

The information is from Italian persecutors and the emails of Shell executives.. How exactly was his name smuggled?

OMG!, I weep for Nigerian youths suffering directly and directly as a result of greedy leaders of this Nation...National earnings , sacked and shared by not more than 20persons out of Over 170Million Populace. Shell is part of our recession problem. Too bad cry

Dan Etete acquired the oil bloc in 1998 when he was petroleum minister under the Abacha government and the chronology gives you an idea why corruption allegations rarely gain traction in Nigeria.

A full investigation will implicate several people across successive governments. Some of these people are highly connected to today's administration as well as past administrations. So the story dies in Nigeria albeit kept alive by the international media.

The DSS and EFCC are more interested in "mickey mouse" corruption allegations involving relatively low level allegations. Has anyone heard anything about Sanusi's $20bn?

If you considered that this has never happened in Nigeria before, nothing has even come close to 10% of this figure (at least not that I've heard of), then you will realise the question isn't as silly as you think.

Did you see anywhere in the write up that a dollar was given to GEJ, why can't you guys be patient to wait until investigation is completed and if he found wanting let the authorities deal with him.

Stop shouting his name with your ITEL phone

Receive sense. Did you read from the beginning to the end? The date for the proposed oil bloc bid was 1998 and don etete was minister...the deal probably spread out to Obasanjo's tenure as president... But definitely not yar adua or GEJ

Zombies like you dont read. Abacha gifted those oil blocks to his cronies! because of lingering legal dispute amongst owners and cronies, their sale dragged on for years and it happened to be sold under GEJ.

There are two or more sides to every story, let's hear from the other sides (so called beneficiaries of the deal) before we jump to conclusion or crucify anybody.

We would be deceiving ourselves if the current administration will arrest these evil prosecutors but they are bird of feathers.

They will only jostle on the issue as if it's just normal.

God on my bended kneels I pray, grant me the strength together with other patriotic Nigerians to annihilate these evil demons through spiritual and physical means.

There is concrete evidence including email correspondence between Shell executives... We know the people involved on the Nigerian side will go scot free.

DSS, ICPC and EFCC bodies were created as a faceoff to deceive Nigerians they are fighting corruption but like you said, they are more interested in the mickey mouse allegation while the heavyweights holding the nation ransom are neglected.

nobody is saying it should be sold for $500b, the $500b is the worth of the bloc, just to show you how valuable it is. but shell paid a "settlement" of $1.3b which was shared among govnt officials more like a bribe to get it.
