What outrage. . . . no excuses but how can he just leave out a bulk of the regulars, for what Perrotti, Negredo, Adriano, Renato, Romaric, Duscher all out.

Kone, Lolo, Jose Carlos, Valiente had absolutely no business in that game angry angry angry

& Kone is an absolute waste only 1 damn goal in 3 seasons and he can't even muster a decent assist! angry

Fabiano could make Copa comeback
Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano could make his return from injury in Wednesday's Copa del Rey quarter-final first-leg at Deportivo La Coruna.
The Andalusian club said in a statement that the Brazilian international, who damaged an ankle in early December, trained normally on Monday.

Argentina midfielder Diego Perotti is still suffering from bruising on his thigh and is doubtful.

stunning win. . . . surely, we are guaranteed a place in the last-4, guess this copa del rey is within our reach!

we're getting back to full strength now; fabiano, kanoute back. . . . still seething from the fact that Jimenez did a "wolves" in the barca game saving the cavalry for this game - we should shed that mentality by now and mix it with the big boys - sevilla fc can never go back to being just 1 of the clubs in la liga & we just have to accept it. . . . Jimenez, Jose Maria del Nido - take note!

Sevilla have Brazil striker Luis Fabiano and Mali's Frederic Kanoute back in contention for Saturday's visit of Andalusian rivals Almeria.
Fabiano came on as a late substitute in their midweek Copa Del Rey win at Deportivo Coruna after a month and a half out injured. Kanoute has returned from the African Nations Cup.
Sevilla have struggled in their absence, slipping down to sixth in the standings after four consecutive league defeats.

very, very welcome news. . . . we need to get back on track and battle for a top-4 finish!

A good win that sends us moving in the right direction - Negredo again. . . . well, RM's loss is proving to be our gain in the absence of Fabiano, Negredo has held the line impressively in a 4-5-1 setup.

Good win - 8pts away from 2nd and 5 away from 3rd. . . . we can still make it - but Mallorca and Depor are in our and we just gotta despatch 'em pretty soon!

Back to the chase again. . . . now its more of securing a UCL spot than challenging for the La liga title, no thanks to Jimenez's myopic world views angry

But on the flip side, things have been on the up lately for the club both on and off the field grin

At last we get some breathing space and create a bit of a buffer from the 4th place UCL-chasing pack. . . . grin

Solid win on a difficult away ground and against one of the major contenders for that last UCL spot too.

it galls me to be thinking this; but Sevilla FC should be showing a whole lot more ambition than just 4th place all the time angry

Mallorca were surprisingly poor on the night - they've been pretty solid at home all season and the ref didn't really do justice to the game at all. . . . Drago's lucky freekick changed the game completely and some solid defending helped.

Having Navas & Perroti is a massive plus. . . when you are a man down, these guys on their game can really make that look insignificant!

On a very cold, frosty moskova night and hard, frozen pitch; we couldn't have hoped for a better result - not the best of performances though; very scrappy and disjointed. We couldn't get our sleek passing game on and our "flying" wingers didn't have the chance to raid CSKA down the flanks but we held our nerve well when we were under the cush atimes and stood firm. . . . very proffessional display.

reduced to 10 again and romaric is out from the trip to the bernabeu. . . . Bilbao outta be fined by the FA - even against 10 men all they could do was park the team bus in front of their goal, so bleeping annoying angry angry

Good game though, adjusted well after the red card - Lolo, Adriano, Navas and Carpel were excellent; took the game to the opposition at every chance. Not too many clear-cut chances, Kanoute a bit frozen out understandably.
the defense also did admirably well. Palop doubled up as sweeper to very good effect.

Not a very good result, but a commendable performance nonetheless. Valencia slipped up so we are just 3pts behind now with still a bit of gap on Depor and Mallorca.

Next up, the aristocratic scums in madrid. . . . we're putting a massive dent in some title aspirations come the weekend grin grin grin

La Liga - Sevilla hope wingers can crack Bernabeu

Sevilla's pace on the counter-attack is the key to spoiling Real Madrid's perfect home record in La Liga, Brazilian midfielder Renato has said ahead of their trip to the Bernabeu on Saturday.

Second-placed Real have won every game in front of their own fans, conceding only eight times and racking up an intimidating 41 goals. Sevilla have only scored 36 in 24 games all season.

But the Copa del Rey finalists are one of only three teams to have beaten Real this season, along with Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao, having won 2-1 at the Sanchez Pizjuan back in October.

Renato, who has a knack of scoring against Real, netted the winner that day and is confident his side can complete a double over their illustrious opponents.

"We have to get everyone in the frame of mind that Real are dangerous, but that we also have to attack them," Renato told the club's website.

"We have players who are very quick on the counter-attack. We have to make Real suffer and show what we are capable of doing."

Flying wingers Jesus Navas, Diego Perotti, and Diego Capel carry Sevilla's threat down the flanks, and it looks likely former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Negredo will lead the line.

Brazil's Luis Fabiano has been suffering with a chest injury while Mali's Frederic Kanoute has struggled of late.

Sevilla lie fourth in La Liga on 43 points, three behind third-placed Valencia, but they are well off the pace in the title race with Real a distant 16 points ahead of them.
