For those who doesn't understand ,emir sanusi is only trying to establish the rights of women which every responsible man shouldn't be afraid or ashamed of recognizing. there are some cultures that this is a threat to and they won't feel good entertaining the full actualization of women rights. Emir sanusu is a reformed northerner who northern elites should rally round If truly they mean their words of 'one Nigeria' else they will always be seen as enemy of the Nigeria state 5 Likes |

megareal:Like I asked, what if it was a guy that punches a lady because she used her finger to push him on his forehead? Is that one also justified? If a girl slaps a guy, feminists will say he should walk away. But if a guy slaps a lady, you irrational and sadistic feminists will cry blue murder, in fact, you will HAIL the lady if she reacts by using an object to hit him. Maka why? Unfortunately, bigots like you tend to call every woman who has an independent opinion feminist. My father taught me to defend myself. I owe nobody an apology for being strong.I'm sure you have been coming across the word "bigot" without knowing what it means. Please, help yourself with Google. Your opinion isn't that of a feminist but that of a sadistic and confused lady that is aligned with the Naija brand of feminism. Defending yourself is GOOD but I hope your father won't cry blue murder when your self defence go haywire? I'm sure you will land a guy on the street that provokes you a heavy slap, please, don't play victim card when he reacts with greater measure. Being a female is no licence for irresponsible behavior. 1 Like |

magoo10: How is he establishing the rights of women when you encourage your kids to take laws into their hands. The girl did not react emediately she was pushed but kept it in her heart till the next day. This kind of person can kill and its called premeditated murder if she had killed the boy. 1 Like |

That boy is a bully who targets girls because like a typical coward he considers them weaker and easier to pick on . Glad she's taught him that not all girls will take that crap. His type will go on to beating his wife if left unchecked ! 4 Likes |

Take it easy emir. Girls shouldn't be abused, but I doubt going physical is the best response to abuse. What if she had been assaulted by the guy(the abuse happened the other day remember?) I am for mutual respect# am with the emir on most of his ideas# no one is perfect # I support girl empowerment and education |

pcguru1: I would maybe have seen his point if he wasn't being disdainful by calling me a confused Naija feminist. But I would still have argued that when it comes to bullying, boys take the lead. Girls naturally regard boys as stronger so they hardly go find their trouble. I always tell folks; when you go looking for trouble be well prepared cos the other party may take their retaliation way beyond your original trouble... don't cry foul after. That's what this girl did. |

bamisho:That's an encouraging line...cz it should be a norm But I do believe there are times we apply wisdom in our reaction There are different ways of conflict management, it's all about approach I felt the emir or his wife should have educated her on that as a public figure When you're in the limelight, every action you make speaks a thousand words to those watching...just like the emir's words on the post |

Victornezzar: If only you had a brain you would have been able to use it. You must be one of those terrible killer cultists who think they are laws unto themselves which is why you can't see the wrong in what the girl did. St00pid brain dead animal like you. Keep taking laws into your hands and I can bet you that the long arm of the law will throw you in jail if you are lucky, but if you are not lucky, the police will gun you down like a common criminal that you are. |

dominique: No no no. She said the boy placed a finger on her head and pushed it backwards. If that is not to hit first, then I wonder what is. That is clearly a threat to her. What if she falls down and sustain an injury? You want her to wait till he gets out a gun abi? If the guy truly did that, she did well in my book. Bullying can never be addressed by more laws 4 Likes 1 Share |

TonyeBarcanista: You still don't get it, do you? First, make up your mind whether I'm an irrational feminist or just sadistic and cruel. I still maintain you are a bigot. The fact that I don't side with your sympathetic view on the boy does not give you the right to label me. Moreover, I'm all for self defense. I don't care which way it blows. My father told us something profound "don't go looking for trouble, but when it comes face it with everything you've got irrespective of who it is. Because the trouble maker will keep preying on you and will never give up until you react". I've experienced that truth all through my young life. And in this regard, the greatest compliment I can give myself is that I'm a very level headed female who treats others as I want to be treated. But don't cross the line cos I'm female, simple. I think you are yet to meet very strong females who can take on anything, that's why you reason that we all play the victim card. 6 Likes 1 Share |

TheTrueSeeker: She was a child, the boy in question too was a child. She didn't like being bullied, and responded in kind. I'm sure she knows better now as an adult, and can make better decisions than when she was still in primary or secondary school. Modified All those fighting and cursing themselves above, please note that these were children when the incident happened. Most children don't know much about conflict resolution, and are impulsive. She was wrong in hitting the boy, and that's why the mother reported her to her father. Like any reasonable parent, you ask what happened which he did. I'm sure he may have laughed over it, but will tell her to report to her teacher next time. I'm also sure the boy never went near her again with his 'play'. 3 Likes |

numericalguy:if you read well he was talking to a targeted audience and it was an occasion for the girl child right and he used that particular incident to explain the rights of every girl child especially against the aggressive male child., if you give birth to a girl child and teach her how to run away or cry each time a male molest her that is your own pot of stew but he will continue to bring up his daughter the way he feels will be beneficial for her and earn her respect amongst men. 2 Likes |
