The Pontifical Equestrian Order of Saint Sylvester Pope and Martyr sometimes referred to as the Sylvestrine Order, or the Pontifical Order of Pope Saint Sylvester, is one of five Orders of Knighthood awarded directly by the Pope as Supreme Pontiff and head of the Catholic Church and as the
Head of State of Vatican City.
It is intended to honor Roman Catholic lay people who are actively involved in the life of the church, particularly as it is exemplified in the exercise of their professional duties and mastership of the different arts. It is also conferred on non-Catholics and in the UK current recipients include prominent Anglicans, Muslims and Jews.
Awards of the Order are generally made on the recommendation of Diocesan Bishops, or of Apostolic Nuncios. Awards are also granted on recommendation of the Papal Secretary of State.
Consequently, the nomination and decoration of Chief (Sir) Dr Victor Umeh OFR, Ohamadike Ndigbo were indifferently a result of same rigorous scrutiny and merit. His philanthropic and selfless actions are second to none while the zeal for quality, transparent and humane services to the society remains insurmountable.
His love for God and His church is indescribable as he had contributed meaningfully to the successful completion of several church buildings/projects as well as the growth of the Christian faith within and beyond the south east. Chief Victor Umeh also has in his home a gigantic chapel for the fellowship of God's people. His antecedents in the current political and social dispensation in Nigeria also cannot be overemphasized as he had played pivotal roles through his leadership of APGA as well as his performance at the National Conference and the use of the media.
Indubitably, Ohamadike's intervention in APGA led APGA to victory in Anambra state through which the NEW ANAMBRA had emerged. A quintessential imbroglio that has spread to other states of the federation and still thriving.
MY DEAR PEOPLE OF ANAMBRA CENTRAL... to whom much is given much is expected. Chief Sir Victor Umeh has done great things for us and we must continue to support him.

Knighthood is not spiritual. It is ceremonial award like chieftaincy awards and they are all motivated largely by money.

There are two types of knighthood in the Catholic church.

The knighthood bestowed by the Pope known as Papal Knighthood and ordinary societies formed by laymen who love the idea of being a Knight.

Papal knighthood is very rare unlike the other ones.
