That foolish ibo man is making a big shame of the country.
Why is it the ibos are always the same people used for the dirty work of either the north or the west.
Maurice Iwu. Aadooaka (these breeds of scums are the same people distablizing the country when they can chose to be bold and change everything)

So Aadooaka is now an Igbo man? When will this ignorance end? People who don't understand basic facts come here to write nonsense.

IT IS NOW GLARING TO ALL WHOSE INTERESTS THOSE GANG OF LAW BREAKERS HAVE.THEY JUST REALISED THAT THEY WERE GOING TO BE AFFECTED BY THE LILY-LIVERED ULTIMATUM THEY ISSUED IN FORM OF VISA RESTRICTION/CANCELLATION WHICH FORCED THEM TO TAKE A SOMMERSAULT FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF LIGHT.

Some of you guys sound surprised?  Were you guys honestly thinking that the bunch of jokers and retards that
made up the Nigerian senate actually thought through their action before issuing the ultimatum?  I mean how do
you issue an ultimatum that you have no way of enforcing? What leverage does Nigeria have over US, just oil?
If it was just oil, please remember that Nigeria is not the only country producing oil in the world. US on the other
hand can bring real economic pains and more to Nigeria.

For the ultra-patriotic Nigerians who don't see any thing wrong with the action or the lack of action of the Nigeria
government, its time you accept Nigeria for what it is - a waste of a country. US is not the problem, they are simply
taking steps to protect their homeland.  The reason UK will never be added to "countries of interest" list is because
the US is fully aware of all the actions the UK government is taking to stop terrorists from boarding planes. The same
can not be said about Nigeria.  Nigeria can not be flirting with everything Islam and expect to be treating potential
jihadists with kid gloves or ignoring extremist activities in parts of the country.

This was the only way the US government can get Nigeria to wake up to its duties. The US is not saying everyone in
Nigeria is a terrorist, they are simply saying they have no faith in the security effort of the Nigerian government to
combat this threat as of now. Maybe when Yar Adua wakes up and initiates genuine steps to fight the fake and real
jihadists in the country, US will take Nigeria off the list.

Having said that, lets give the senate some credit, at least the ultimatum lasted up to 48 hours smiley Na who wan die?

Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo does not matter in the current discussion and i think we should all focus on what brought about.

There is lack of leadership and the reaction of the govt is nothing to write home about.

They are retracking because of their stolen money in US banks.

They are already pleading with the American govt thru their contacts in the state department to allow them access to their stolen money.

We say whatever we like in this forum but nothing will change the American position.

sad sad sad

These are the best brain the country can afford at this time. "As society gets the kind of leadership it deserves" this is a fact.

If you believe you can do better then go!!. As a Nigerian you do have the rights to be the next president.

coded guy:

They gave America an ultimatum, America cancelled their trips/visas to the USA (which might still be a rumour)

All their livers drop, they quickly shamelessly opt for peaceful resolution.

I think we all can affirmatively confirm why 9ja is where it is today.

OGUNDAMISI: "No. He is not from Nigeria. He is from Katsina. Nigerian people don't live in £4 million family homes in a choice part of London."

CNN:"But President Yar'adua is from Katsina".

OGUNDAMISI: "No. Yar'adua is from Jeddah close to Saudi Arabia. Nigerians go to 'General hospitals' , leave me alone, I am looking for fuel for my car". J

The stupid thing about it all is that the Attorney General said that
government was still ignorant of the consequences of the watch list on Nigerians travelling abroad, saying that the Minister of Foreign Affairs had been directed to find out what the action meant.

So we didn't even know what the action meant yet we were jumping the gun? What kind of leaders do we have for goodness sake?

AMEN I prayed for this. Jesus is good.

Im sure when Nigeria takes steps to secure safety at its airports and I mean ALL airports in Nigeria and start challenging the islamic schools in the north, America will remove its name from the list.

I dont blame US govt AT ALL, there decision to black list Nigeria, made some Nigerians think to themselves "is Nigeria really is a country of interest for terrorist?" and the answer is YES. Too much crazy islamic radicalswho can easily bomb Abj, Phc, Lag- so Nigerian govt needs to put checkpoint and scanners in all local and international airports. and start a campaign against using religion as an excuse to terrorise and kill.

Re: Nigerian Senate Withdraws The United States Ultimatum by sjeezy8: 5:11pm On Jan 08, 2010
Wait this doesnt make sense, some of you were mad when they made the ultimatum because you feared they would turn to the Chinese and america diplomacy was the only hope for Nigerian democracy. Now you people are switching up calling them rubbish.

Which would you want Chinese Socialism/Military regimes or American democracy for Nigeria? and yes Military regimes are quite possible in the a country that has had 7-8 military coups
the answer is simple.

The American that I know will not just blacklist us without apparent reason if not to guarantee their interest in 9ja as well as part of the world.   They still loves us and they will do everything to assist us as one of their present and future partners in Africa.  We have the manpower and resources and the only way moving forward for both countries is to look at each other policies in details.

The Nigerian govt have now asked the USA agents to view the Airport Visual Images of the accused from MMA,  this is a way to prove to them that we are not a terrorist sponsoring Nation.

In another development, the US approves $1bn facility for Nigerian banks, this is signifying their future interest in Nigerian trades.   http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201001080543575
Our govt will just have to put their house in order, so as to give us a voice as well.

What a shame, UNproud to be a Nigerian

Hope the above was meant to be tongue in cheek because very frankly folks, what exactly is there to be
proud of in Nigeria today?
- Security?
- Education ?
- Health ?
- Roads & Bridges (Infrastructure) ?
- Governance ?
- Leadership
- Morality (whatever that is)?
- Water?
- Electricity?
- Commerce ?
- Industrialization ?
- Environmental Protection?
- Sports (soccer even on the decline)?

I mean where do you begin?
