Spoiler:

Client wants faulty ECT sensor replaced, thermostat installed, Electronic Load Detector replaced, fan wiring reverted to factory and problems with the A/C system resolved for N30,000.00 for diagnosis, parts and labor!

Additional issues that the client wants resolved for N30,000.00 include that P and D illuminate at the same time when the Ignition is turned ON while R does not illuminate.

Please am interested in understanding how the AC kazeem implemented the bolded logic. I understand the timer/relay concept but the "When the vehicle is stationary and in motion"

Words of the client.

The spoiler comment has prevented further action on this vehicle.

Not worth the trouble.

Is that how I am going to recoup my investments?

My investments did not start and end in internet subscriptions and YouTube videos.

I have undertaken formal, systematic paid for training for this business.

I want to belief it has reflected in my writeups and approach.

I have to institute a policy to stop such abuse.

Agreed...provided someone was going to pay for it.

As a result of the aforementioned, the vehicle labors to move when the A/C is turned on and only moves with ease when the A/C is switched off

Hehehehe, I would have found a way to tell him to buy parts and fix in by himself.

grin grin grin owner na really alaroro

1. High fuel consumption
2. A/C System blockage aka Black Death
3. Fans no longer controlled by ECU logic

A/C parts alone already over N40,000

I offered to fix just a used ECT and revert fans to factory he insisted A/C must be included or no deal

Truth be told, if I were in his shoes.. used ECT2 + reverting fans back to factory for N30,000.. I no go gree too..

NB: Did you test if his ECT2 was actually bad? Might just be that Kazeem butchered the wire to the Sensor.

Picture you attached is ECT1 and is not related to the P2185: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor #2 Circuit High Input

Sensor #2 on that Honda located at bottom of the radiator.

"sensor circuit high input" my bet is on an open circuit

I didn't say 30,000.00 he said he has only 30,000.00 for everything.

I started way way higher.

When he said not so boxed up I then said in that case ignore A/C and fix ECT, thermostat as well as fans and your fuel consumption should normalize.

He didn't even agree for factory data so I have not crosschecked which sensor is which.

My time should be paid for unless I decide I want to do pro bono

I support that!!
As one of my boss at work always say "most Nigerian cannot afford to own cars but we just do agidi.. I must drive car, we save and take a loan to buy a old (10 year and above) car we cannot maintain"

Other issue recently solved Honda CRV 2000 model.

It overheated on the way back from a village market (this happened on a Saturday).

The mechanic that was called checked and discovered that the coolant had completely evaporated from the radiator.

So he then remedied the customer by adding fresh water so he could drive home.

But he also told the client that he should return on Monday to change his gasket from the overheating incident.

The client agreed.

But the client also consulted me and so I asked for all the tell-tale signs of a vehicle that had so overheated that it could be scientifically proven that the gasket was indeed gone.

The client checked and those signs were non-existent.

Nonetheless I told the client to rigorously inspect coolant levels for the time being.

He did some days, and would skip other days.

I kept insisting that he do it daily, until he discovered that he actually had a bad radiator.

So he came in for radiator service.

What I found out was that he was using what has been referred to as colored water.

I strongly recommended that he get coolant capable of doing 5 years or 60,000 miles.

He objected due to cash flow concerns until his next paycheck.

So the compromise we agreed upon was the use of Total coolant until he musters up the funds to switch to the recommended long life coolant for this vehicle.

Pictures of the work done follow immediately below.

First picture (colored water)
Second picture (colored water)
Third picture (recommended coolant)
