Let me ask you a question and I want you to be honest, If you were Aguiyi ironsi, and hassan katsina, the then governor of northern Nigeria, seceded and declared arewa republic an independent country, citing the murders of Ahmadu bello and tafawa bello, the unification decree and the non execution of the January coup plotters as his reasons, what would you have done?

If you were aguiyi ironsi, would you tolerate a subordinate officer's lack of respect towards you? you see, whether we like it or not, there are always two sides to every issue. Ojukwu had his reasons for his actions likewise Gowon and an impartial judge is more likely to blame ojukwu more than gowon. I suggest you read Chinua achebe's novel 'There was a country'. you will then understand why I said that while I admire ojukwu's audacity and boldness in confronting his superiors, the cost of his actions was not worth it!
