MINUTE OF N-POWER VOLUNTEERS GENERAL VIRTUAL MEETING HELD ON THE 6TH SEPTEMBER, 2020

Present At the Meeting are;

Comrade Joseph Enan

Comrade Austin Nsikak.

Comrade Isaiac

Comrade Oluwafemi

Comrade Chygoz

Comrade Austin

Comrade Godstime Abanum

Comrade Austin Nsikak and Jude

The meeting started at exactly 9pm with an opening prayer from Comrade Joseph Enan and was anchored by Comrade Austin Nsikak.
After a brief introduction by members of N-Power group we moved straight to the first agendum in the agenda which was sending letter to the Chief of Staff of the Federation to seek for permission to see the president which we all N-Power volunteers agreed to.
And all N-Power volunteers agreed that the letter will be sent to to the admins platform for proper scrutiny.
The next agendum in the agenda was sending a reminder letter to the Senate President and The Speaker of the House of Representative.
Comrade Isaiac objected that it should be a fresh letter requesting for an audience to the duo to discuss N-Power Batch A and B plight rather than a letter of reminder.
It was also agreed that the said letter should be sent through our delegates to deliver it directly to their office in Abuja.
Comrade Oluwafemi suggested that since NASS will resume planery this September that all N-Power volunteers should align all plans prior to their resumption of planery and all N-Power volunteers were unanimous.
Comrade Chygoz suggested that all N-Power volunteers include all the fact about our unlawful disengagement in the letter and present the sent letter to the general house to prove that the letter carries all the necessary fact in our unlawful disengagement.
Comrade Austin even made known to the house that even our handbills carries all the necessary facts in the unlawful disengagement.
Comrade Eleyinla was worried about how our letter will get to our destination that some secretary may throw some letters under the carpet that there is need for us to follow up.
Comrade Godstime Abanum responded that we should select delegates that can assure us that they will be able to deliver our letter to its destination.
The next agendum in the agenda was how to mobilize Abuja N-Power beneficiaries and its environs.
An N-Power volunteer suggested that the Abuja N-Power beneficiaries should join their group chat rooms to enlighten other N-Power beneficiaries on the latest happenings.
At about 10:44pm Comrade Austin moved a motion for adjournment of the meeting till further notice and was seconded by Comrade Jude.
The closing prayer was made by Comrade Jude and all N-Power volunteers departed”.

God bless Nigerian youths

Advice To The Incoming N-Power Batch C Volunteers

You all know that N-Power is a skill empowerment scheme and the recently conducted N-Power Batch C recruitment have seen some adjustments. Unlike the previous batches which N-Power beneficiaries are expected to spend two years to gain job experience and employability skills, the new set of N-Power volunteers to be recruited will have only 1year to be empowered.
The prospective Batch C N-Power beneficiaries should have it in mind that the N-Power programme has an expiring date and as such, it is very important that future N-Power Batch C volunteers make the most out of the N-Power programme before they are exited to avoid what happened to N-Power batches A and B.
The advice to the incoming batch C N-Power Volunteers is that they should not subject themselves to only the responsibility at the place of their primary assignment. They should task themselves with other activities that will help build the other aspect of their lives and livelihoods.
The most amazing thing is that N-Power provides you with the necessary tools like an electronic device, free internet connectivity and ₦30000 stipend which is an added advantage to hone your skills like digital and entrepreneural skills, and put back that skills into your work as NAgro, NTeach and NHealth volunteers. It will actually be a waste of time if you end up not learning other skills that will boost your CV or direct you towards the entrepreneurial part after the programme.
As you all know, the N-Power programme has different components which I believed the non-graduate component is more or less the one that can bring out entrepreneurs. The graduate component will only equip you with work experience which at the end will require you to work for others, that is why it is important that while in the N-Power programme you should endeavour to devote some of your time to acquire entrepreneurial skills so that you can get something to fall back after the scheme.
However, the management of the N-Power programme have said that they have restructured the scheme for better results, but it is advisable that you still do not put all your hope on someone elses promises.
That is why this post was written to assist the new emerging N-Power volunteers to learn from the experience of their Senior colleagues the 2016 and 2017 N-Power volunteers who are recently exited from the N-Power Scheme and still do not know where they belong in terms of transition path.

N-Power Transition: Focal Person Reportedly Releases Form For Collection Of Beneficiaries' Data

The Lagos State Focal Person for the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIPs), Mrs. Olusola Falana has reportedly released a Google Docs form for the collection of N-Power beneficiaries' data, AllNews understands.
A message circulated on Tuesday by Felix Ayorinde, N-Power Lagos Team Leader indicates that the form "is the second phase of data collection as requested by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria for N-Power beneficiaries of Batch A and B".
It adds that the sheet "is specifically for N-Power beneficiaries of Lagos State".
Nigeria's NSIPs include the N-Power scheme, National Home Grown School Feeding Programme and the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP).
Recall AllNews reported about a week ago that Farouq said she has "directed Focal Persons of NSIPs in all the states to submit an updated list and details of the exited N-Power beneficiaries that are interested in participating in the transition plans of the ministry".
Meanwhile, beneficiaries in some other Nigerian states are currently in the dark regarding the N-Power transition, AllNews observed.

Here's the link to collate Lagos N-Power beneficiaries data https://npvn-nationwide..com/2020/09/n-power-lagos-state-transition-form.html?m=1 it does not require beneficiaries' phone number, bank or contact details.

N-Power Transition: We Will Test Run 2,000 N-Power Volunteers to Study Outcome - Sadiya

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management & Social Development said they received 2000 names of N-Power exited volunteers that are willing to be transitioned to the other phase of the N-Power programme-According to news on Radio Lagos.
These 2000 N-Power volunteers are the first batch that will be used to test run the plans put in place, apparently, there will be massive transition after the “test-run” stage.
The Minister, Sadiya Umar Farouq has cautioned volunteers to be patients as Rome was no built in a day.
In her last talk-show during the Presidential Ministerial Performance Retreat Review, Sadiya hinted plans to transition N-Power volunteers that will yield positive results.

Aliu: Can you shed some light about your transition plan for the exited N-Power volunteers?

Sadiya: We have perfected plans to put them in viable opportunities, talks are already concluded, in few weeks’ time, the matter will be made known, to exited N-Power beneficiaries, volunteers will thank me for the effort made so far.
We understand the anxiety among young people. The Federal Government is not putting them into the street, that is why we told them to wait and exercise a little patience during our last press statement.

Aliu: Will N-Power batch C be accorded same treatment?

Sadiya: We have even better plans for the incoming N-Power batch C, they will be carefully chosen, we will treat them with care and passion. N-Power Batch C will have the best one year, which I will supervise as a Minister.

Immediately after their one-year of service, will we transit them into plan already perfected, N-Power batch A and B will test run the plan, which I believe will change the lives of millions.

Aliu: Some N-Power beneficiaries are complaining of being owed months of stipends, what hopes lies in secrecy of them to be paid.

Sadiya: In our last Press Release, we addressed these issues, the office of the Accountant General of the Federation has resolved the matter, genuine N-Power volunteers of less than 14,000 will be paid backlogs of months owed.

She added by saying, GIFMIS is a well-built platform that is rejecting all those who are in Payroll of various MDAs.

Sadiya: We have approved the payment of July stipend to batch C N-Power volunteers and in no distant time, volunteers will start getting alert, the office of the Accountant General will soon give “the go-ahead-order” and GIFMIS will trigger payment.

Aliu: When will N-Power batch C be onboarded knowing fully well, the country is not fully open?

Sadiya: We are finalizing plans to release the names of successful candidates, further instructions will be made known.

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo also gave a remark on the N-Power programme thus:

Our Administration has set the stage for lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next 10 years.
Efforts are also being made to empower the youth and other vulnerable groups by enhancing investments in our Social Investment Programmes Transforming N-Power volunteers into sustaining Productive and long-lasting solution to curb unemployment.

N-Power Batch C Left In Suspense Facebook Page Not Updated for Long Unpaid Stipends Pending

The official page of the N-Power Scheme on Facebook, where hundreds of thousands of N-Power volunteers get official and authentic information regarding the programme has not been updated for close to 2 months.
The Facebook official page is the only social media channels where individual questions from both exited N-Power volunteers and incoming N-Power volunteers are answered promptly.
Apparently, many N-Power volunteers are now stranded on the way forward, since information hardly comes from the verified N-Power Facebook handle.
Both N-Power Batch A and B are now disengaged/exited from the scheme with a promise of transition, but no constant flow of information and direction from the Facebook verified social handle.
At the moment, exited N-Power volunteers are still owed months of backlogs, with no date for payment, many unanswered questions are begging for answers on the page.
The Last update occurred on 27th of July 2020, warning the incoming N-Power Batch C volunteers to promptly register before the deadline.
The Facebook page has over 500,000 likes and many shares, making it the most used Npower Social Media in the N-Power programme.

N-Power July Stipend: OAGF Delays Order, No Date for Payment Yet

Exited N-Power volunteers of the N-Power Programme will not get their pay this week as the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation is yet to approve payment.
Sadiya Umar, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has already forwarded Batch B’s July stipend to the Accountant-General’s Office for payment of July Stipends.
The office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGFs) is conducting final checks and payments, this will take some time to pay all the 14,000 N-Power volunteers rejected by GIFMIS.
Sadiya in a talkshow disclosed that, she has signed off payment of N-Power Batch B, and that payment is no longer in her jurisdiction but at the office of the Accountant General.
Because of the change in payment Platform, it was discovered that some names also appear in other government payment vouchers
But the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation is still working on payment protocols, to allow all owed and exited N-Power volunteers to be paid at once, and with ease.
N-Power volunteers are advised to exercise more patience, in no distant time, within the month of September, this issue would have been resolved.
This is because of complains rising from GIFMIS rejection of over 14,000 genuine N-Power volunteers, who have suffered months without payment must be sorted out.
Nneka Ikem Anibeze, the new appointed Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Hon Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq made this known few days ago in Abuja.
“Until her appointment, Nneka Ikem was the Acting Director, Sports and Outside Broadcasts Directorate of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.
She also served as SA Media and Publicity to the immediate past Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Selcap Dalung.
The new SA to Sadiya Umar assured N-Power volunteers of swift payment of backlogs to over 14,000 N-Power volunteers rejected by GIFMIS.
Immediately the payment protocols are solved and done, all exited N-Power volunteers would receive their earned stipends and backlogs, the SA added.

200,000 N-Power Volunteers To Be Used To Test Run Transition First Phase - Minister

N-Power Social Commentator Suggestions For Federal Government

A social commentator, Mustapha Kabir Soron Dinki has said that because N-Power volunteers supported the Muhammadu Buhari administration to victory in the 2019 presidential election, the present administration should 'pay them back', by absorbing them into Federal Civil Service.
Dinki, who was an N-Power beneficiary, through his known Twitter handle on Thursday stated the N-Power programme really impacted his life.
Recall that N-Power Batch A Volunteers exited the programme on June 30 after 4 years in the N-Power scheme, while the N-Power Batch B Beneficiaries officially made their exit on July 31st after 2 years.
Meanwhile, these N-Power volunteers were exited from the N-Power scheme by the Federal Government without being paid their stipends for the month of July. Plus, they are currently in the dark regarding their exit/transition package.
The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Umar Farouq is currently in the process of recruiting Batch C.

Over 300,000 N-Power Volunteers Of The N-Power Programme Yet To Get Their July stipend.

N-Power volunteers are paid a monthly stipend of ₦30, 000, meaning over nine billion naira is being spent as remuneration on N-Power Batch B beneficiaries by the Federal Government every month.
The N-Power Graduate Programme is the Federal Government’s social intervention program to tackle youth unemployment and re-energise public service delivery in four key sectors, that is, education, agriculture, health and tax.
At the present time, three days into the month of September, N-Power beneficiaries are still waiting to be paid for July.
Since the transfer of the National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP) to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development in October 2019, N-Power beneficiaries' stipends has been met with one issue or the other.
The non-payment has caused many of the exited N-Power beneficiaries to come on social media (Twitter most especially) to demand for their payment of which the Ministry most times turn deaf ears.
