You don't understand an economy if you think not having power stops commerce.

While it is a nuisance ask yourself how your forefathers coped without power. Did it stop them from living?

Well, that was then. Certainly not sustainable in today's fast paced environment. I know businesses that spend a lot on diesel, the money is enough to buy an additional machinery or open a new branch or employ more persons. For Nigeria to move faster economically and reduce the unemployment rate, she needs uninterrupted power.

That commerce worked then without electricity does not mean it will or it can forever. We need electricity - constant.

It isn't right but Nigeria is not the only nation with power issues and (like it or not) the lack of constant mains electricity creates other economic activity. It hampers some business but it doesn't altogether stop business. This is a point in relation to your comment at expressing shock/disgust at Nigeria being Africa's biggest economy.

Having said all that, things can and will get better.
