Giantslayer: you wonder why most of the inciting propaganda in the country always emanate from lagos ibadan lying headquaters aimed at always blackmailing innocent people? When you read "Yorubas are the problem with Nigeria" written by Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, you will understand Lord Lugard was spot on. Very selfish, seditious, treacherous and fickle minded set of people. Satan must be happy the day yoruba was created because he found a perfect home in the heart of the yorubas. This is the same attitude that drove Awo to betray the igbos because of the post of finance minister and his presidential ambition and went ahead with abandoned property, indigenization policy and the 20pounds policy. Thermodynamics: It is always laughable to often hear some so called elder statesmen say the ethnic nationalities in the country cannot stand separately. Same goes for those with juicy political posts or are nursing political ambitions harping the shared baseless sentiments. Some will even say God have a hand in Nigeria's creation by 'Pastor Lugard'. Well, God cannot support a Tower of Babel that best describe Nigeria formed without recourse to Social Contract. NEVER!!! That no region can stand alone and prosper is a big fat LIE that nauseates. 3 Likes |

The last part of his comments about the Igbo people shows that he didn't trust them to be obedient to British rule. That's the only crime of the Igbos, self determination. Till today, they are still hated for it. But tell me, is it a crime to want to be in charge of your own destiny? Lugard noted that Igbos were industrious, very true, but still handed over power to the Hausa-Fulanis, because they didn't care about anything other than cattle. Now you see that Nigeria was born out of greed and selfishness of the British. 14 Likes 3 Shares |

Re: What Lord Lugard Had To Say About Hausa, Yoruba And Igbo by Ziluxger: 12:36pm On Jun 13, 2017 |
Lugard claimed the Hausas are without Ambition, the Yorubas disloyal and the Igbos industrious though with no respect to constituted authority and they claim the love us and yet handed over power to a man without ambition. They didn't see the other two men with ambition no matter how disloyal or stubborn they are. No wonder we are where we are today. 9 Likes 1 Share |

You guys just keep spreading this lie every time. i have read through this dual mandate book by this lugard fellow and i havent seen anything about him referring to fulanis, yorubas and ibos in the manner in which is said here. Even the so called william h. lang that he supposedly handed over to looks to be an invention buy some vagrant as there is no one in the records of colonial nigeria or even africa that has that name (I stand to be corrected). This is the link to the dual mandate in case anyone wants to read it and stop spreading rumors just for your despicable propaganda https://ia800205.us.archive.org/8/items/cu31924028741175/cu31924028741175.pdf 4 Likes |

[quote author=hornyofife post=57476415] Nwanne, it is not 12yrs, its 30yrs. It took them 30yrs to conquer the east. Oba Dosumu willing surrendered lagos without a fight. talking about cowardice [/uote]Yoruba cowardice was such that there could be regarded as the only large tribe in black Africa to capitulate to colonialism without putting up a single fight. As soon as British convinced them they aren't gonna kill them but rather they would protect them from rampaging Dahomean women who were chasing them into hiding behind olumo rock in abeokuta, yoruba submitted to slavery hence lagos was infamously declared British protectorate. 9 Likes 1 Share |

LordOfNaira: And he handed over the country to killers and non ambitious tribes. Now do you have trust in this Lugard?. Why didn't he separate them after these observations to goan form their different countries?. It is better to hand me over to those that are industrious, religious, hardworking, untrustworthy and uncontrollable than to hand me over to non ambitious and killers. 8 Likes 1 Share |

LordOfNaira: dangerous meaning they are a threat to their interest. hence they must not be trusted with the leadership of Nigeria so that they will not grow and develop Nigeria to the extent that Nigeria will threaten Britain's interest and power 6 Likes 1 Share |

LordOfNaira:He said the Igbo people could not be trusted to obey the Queen's rule. Their only crime was their refusal to submit to British rule. Remember it took them 12 long years to finally subdue the East. It had nothing to do with integrity, so stop quoting him wrongly. I know hatred won't let you read and understand. 7 Likes 1 Share |
