Nsiman: My friend, crude oil does not rot, and there in lies the danger to the Niger Delta people. If you chase away the oil companies or bomb the pipelines, the net effect of it would be on your people. The crude oil would not rot, but the farmlands will, the fish would die, the environment would degrade and the people would fall sick. Note the effect is not just on the people now, but also on generations to come. There in lies the dilemna. Without the requisite technology to contain the oil, the Niger Delta would be an accident waiting to happen. |
