There was a time that kidnappers were only targeting expatriate/foreign workers and Nigerians laughed and used it as a joke... now the kidnappers are going after middle class families where they can get N500k - N1 million.

When they ascend to public offices and loot the treasury dry leaving nothing for the Common man little did they know evil beget evil.

I saw a serving Senator come visit his child somewhere on the Island few weeks ago. He came in a G-Wagon with private number. If not for the police escort, you won't know he was a Senator.

We should collectively hunt down all their personal plate numbers, and hand them over to willing kidnappers.....

stupiid senators, there wouldn't have been any reason to dump their official vehicle license plates if they had implemented policies that will effectively curb crime.

When the Nigerian Government and Law Makers wake up to the realisation that the rise in Kidnappings is purely their doing then we will start to work hard towards fixing it.

They have shared the Nigerian Police amongst themselves and their families. One Lawmaker has like 5 Policemen guarding them. Let's not count the Ministers, Commissioners, Local Government, State Assembly Men, House of Rep's, Senators, Heads of Service, Judiciary, Permanent Secretaries, Special Advisers and co.. Then add that to the number guarding their individual families. Also the Wealthy Men in our society have also bought their own batch of Nigerian Police for themselves and their Families. Companies have also bought their own Policemen for their homes and businesses.

The Question then remains how many police remain to secure the general society?

The Police wey remain are poorly paid, trained and motivated so they focus more on extorting the populace rather than securing it. So an Officer at a security checkpoint will detain a driver for expired road worthiness instead of looking out for actual criminals.

The Chicken is coming home to roost. No more hiding place for anyone. These criminals are well armed. They can match the Police fire for fire and are often carrying more ammo than the officers. Coupled with the fact that an Officer sitting inside a Car with an AK-47 trying to engage robbers is as useless as a Driver trying to fight off Armed robbers with a tire iron because the gun is too big to easily maneuver in such a tight space. So kidnapping these Government people in transit is easier than they think.

They either put aside their greed and start working towards the general good of the people or start facing the music we all have been dancing to for forever. Their money and status in society is no longer a protection but now a target. Those Police escorts are no longer a deterrent to these kidnappers. Those Sirens no dey threaten anybody anymore. Green Plate number no longer has immunity from Kidnappers.
