Many have taken their time to write on what the Igbos will loose will they actualize Biafra. The one sided opinion of these self style Biafran doom prophets has made me come out to tell the Biafran what they will gain if they go.

1. Employment: The Nigerian federal employment system is created to favor a few class of people that is why you wake up everyday to hear that a federal firm has recruited new workers without anyone knowing when and how it happened. It is so disheartening that the Igbo extraction does not have people who would be picked through this means.

The creation of Biafra will give the Igbos the opportunity to have their own federal firms which will create good employment for the Igbo extraction. If you are a Biafran just cast your mind to the federal firms and institutions that you can see in Nigeria. The jobs they create can be yours.

2. Better chances of achieving your vision: I have a friend who could not join the army because the slot for his region was filled up, just imagine that. The same is applicable to all institution is Nigeria.

Biafra existence will put to rest the issue of quota system.

3. Development of Biafran region: The federal allocation given to the south east is nothing to write home about compared to other region of the nation. This has hindered development of the eastern region to a great extent.

The creation of Biafra will put an end to this plague that has robbed the people meaningful development.

4. Federal presence: Allocation on its own does not impact much on the development of a state without the direct input of the federal government. When the federal government take up an infrastructure to execute in a state, the company bring in their expatriate and also employ a few of the locals which throw more money into the economy of the state.

The igbos have been denied this for long. Biafra is an opportunity to have it.

5. Opportunity for healthy competition: Biafra will have people to compete with in development - Nigeria. Biafra will be on its toes in term of development because of their neighbors whom they just separated from. This will create a healthy competition.

Many more exist but will like to stop with this few for easy read since most nairaland lack patience.

OP,all what you listed above can be achieved in a restructured Nigeria.
The SE currently employs mainly SEasterners; so what's the point?
If your state governors have refused to develop the SE region with the billions of naira they get from the FG monthly, which you've vehemently refused to hold them accountable for,is it when they don't get it again they'll start working for the development of SE?
Don't be deceived,no SS region worth it's while will agree to join Biafra; rather,on the exit of SE,they'll negotiate for a restructured Nigeria that will accommodate them.
You'll have no seaports. You'll lose the market of over 170 million you currentlu enjoy.
You'll most definitely lose your properties currently scattered all over the country and start afresh.
You import majority of what you eat presently from other regions in the country;how will you feed?
Just look at Quatar ( a very developed nation),feeling the heat just because of a few days blockade by neighboring countries.
Will an Anambra man allow an Ebonyi man to call the shots in Biafra?
Who will lead who?
These are salient factors that bother very developed nation not to talk of SE that practically has nothing on ground.
How will you accommodate the many SE returnees in Biafra?
Do you know that during the civil war, many people lost there lives from starvation as a result of lack of land to farm? Their own relatives refused to give them lands to farm just because of the small blockade of Bakkasi.
Igbos should be the ones championing for a united Nigeria for now while clamoring for restructuring and bidding their time to develop their region.
The NK you see now and hail as a true leader, you shall see no more when it push comes to shove. Why do you think he's family is abroad? Ask Ojukwu.

Nigeria did not have a sea port before they built one. Biafra building a seaport is another means of Job creation. Just imagine the export that will happen through that seaport.

After the civil war the richest Igbo man then had only 20 pence to his name but today we are being told of the investment he will loose from 20 pence. Wealth creation is in the Igbo man blood just make the environment favorable for him.

We import what we eat because Nigerian made it so in order to keep the Igbos down. During the civil war many inventions were made and through Nigerian style of keeping the Igbos in bondage those ideas were destroyed. We can recreate them with the right environment.

The real Igbo man is not afraid to loose hos live in other to secure the live of his children.

Ask yourself, why are the Igbos this confident of Biafra after seeing many failed nation that have seceded?

Hint: We are a special people. We have one common thing calling all of us home - God.

You may not believe it. We are too spiritual to fail.
