do they still sell the zte mf28, does it come unlocked truly, does it really support all 4g networks including glo and have you used it personally? sorry for my many questions
It’s ZTE MF286. I have used it personally with NTEL, Swift, Glo 4G and MTN4G. It came unlocked. Its supported LTE bands are 1, 3, 7, 20, 28, 40. I do not know if it is still being sold.

Saipro:
I apologise for going off topic but I need to solve two problems and need the most efficient way to do it. My personal workaround is largely inefficient. This is the first issue:
I recently acquired a dual-band NetGear router for large homes. It accepts LAN input. I have a MiFi and a Wireless Modem but both have limited coveragein and around the building.

What I want:
A 3G/4G device which accepts a SIM and has LAN output yet won't break the bank.

You can use your netgear router only as wireless acess point to boost coverage from existing mifi - which model do you have ?

https://kb.netgear.com/20927/How-do-I-change-my-NETGEAR-router-to-AP-mode-after-I-ve-already-run-setup
The second issue:
I need a WiFi extender which can plug into the LAN sockets of my Midnite Classics. I recall having read from one or two people here using them (dapsyra comes to mind). I want to use whatever it is you've used which works.

https:///wireless-tv-network-adapter-for-wifi-range-extender-3738753 - cheapest I found . will also need a wall plug for 5 V DC ( any of the old mobile chargers) or use dedicated Battery to 5 V converters from Aliexpress

I am sure to find may repeaters if I browse through my stuff( upgraded from N to AC last year). If you can arrange pickup from Garki , Abuja I can give for free a dlink DIR505 which may be perfect for you as a wifi extender

Here is how to resolve the excessive mustpower series temperature issue by changing the position of the temperature sensor so the fan comes on at 40 degrees vs 65degrees.
step 1: Locate the temperature sensor on the heat sink(first picture)
step 2:Increase the length of the temperature sensor wire by adding additional wires so it can reach the transformer
step 3:Loose one nut of the transformer lamination holder and use a big washer to fix the temperature sensor to the transformer as shown(third picture)

whatsapp me for further clarification(see my signature)

Many thanks!!!

Thanks for the reply.

I basically want to leave some circuits on solar/inverter backup when PHCN fails without the use of separate DB's.

I am trying to get the simplest way to achieve that without complex rewiring.

I'll try and search for the wiring schematic you mentioned, but a quick sketch from you would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks.
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Barezzi(m): 7:36am On May 11, 2018
If you already have a 3-phase DB, perfect!
Dedicate one of the phases to Inverter loads, and the other two to PHCN only loads.
Stick a caution sign on your db stating "Dual Power Source Feed", so any electrician will
know to isolate all your power sources before fiddling with ya db.

Weather has not been very favourable in the last 5 days. I've had to run my (now rusting) generator for a few hours each night to make up the charge.

Its same here in Lagos state .. Rainy / dull weather days smiley, my gen has been laying dusty though, I just turned on last week for critical heavy loads(water pump, microwave, electric iron) ! We manage our daily loads best way possible for 50% usable out of 14400wh battery bank . Cheer's

Can you post a picture of teh DB and the inverter model may be there is a simpler way I can suggest?

Beware that in contactor method your overall load cannot be higher than 2 times the rated power of inverter ( check inverter manual) as during Grid failure the inverter will momentarily carry all load acting as UPS
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by NiyiOmoIyunade(m): 5:12pm On May 11, 2018
I have been cycling between 10% and 30% DoD in this same cloudy weather period - daily solar yields are around 60 to 70% of what they used to be.

Generator and PHCN are still taking a much needed break though - more than a year now and my Gen has not come on save to help my neighbors when their own Gen breaks and I have also done about 4 months this year with zero PHCN assist.

Now I am realising the benefits of a battery bank sized for four days autonomy including overnight air conditioner use.

For the first time in the last two days though, I woke up to see my battery bank at an historic low of 49.6volts so I can't wait to have the bright sun break through clear skies again and give us bountiful solar harvest

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Trippledots(m): 3:50am On May 12, 2018
hello,

setup A fronius eco is connected in grid tie inverter mode to a three phase victron setup.

observation fronius eco keeps hitting 25kw production and trips off showing an error code which translates to frequency mismatch then fronius starts a cycle of booting which takes almost a minute.

request pls does anyone have experience like this or knowledge about how to tackle this?

temporary fix reduced the panel stream by one so that it doesn't hit that value, but this affects total fronius output esp when sky is overcast. kindly mention me when you advice.

thanks in advance

I assume the eco is on output of victron . did you chcek if Fronius IG50 is correctely selected and ESS assistant or PV assistant is loaded with correct values ?

To load 25 KW eco you need 10 KVA multi/quatro per phase what is the size of your inverters?( Victron has 1:1 AC coupling rule

Also the battery size should be " 1 kWp installed PV power requires100 Ah accubank 48 Vdc"

https://www.victronenergy.com/live/ac_coupling:start

please go through entire checklist to ensure something was not missed

did you update the firmware to prevent flickering ?

Quote from Victron support

Fronius has a special firmware available, on request, that fixes light flickering issues that occur on certain installations under certain circumstances.

For Fronius PV inverters produced after 2018-week 16, contain the flicker-fix already straight from production.

To update earlier and/or already installed PV Inverters, contact Fronius Tech Support for the file. The required file is fro29130.upd. Which works for all snap-inverter models (Primo, Symo and Eco). " End Quaote

Also would be better if you contact Fronius directly stating the problem they are very helpful.

@deeplo,
Calm down... You need like a fortnight to a month to extrapolate your daily energy profile.
This profile contains your daytime and nighttime energy use.
Size your battery bank for night time use.
Size your PV array for daily use.
Size your inverter for the maximum loads you'll be running concurrently.

Before all that up there, solarize! Make your house energy efficient. Your 72 inch TV, is it cathode Ray tube? Your bulbs nko? Tungsten? You get the drill...

I mentioned about 2 years ago that batteries are the bane of RE in Nigeria.

First check if you're not the primary cause of early battery death because that same battery you claimed died under a year may yet be serving another customer much longer than 2 years.

Channel your anger towards SON and not the deallers. When a whole consignment is destroyed. Inferior batteries will gradually die out. Remember it is easier to get a replacement through SON than to save for new set of batteries which may also be substandard.

It is sad! cry

It is sad! cry

very sad indeed.

i only let it run flat(when the inverter beeps low battery), a couple of times.

Now when the inverter beeps low battery, i notice 3 batteries are at like 12.50v while the last one is reading 9v. why will one just die like that out of the blue

I wonder if we needed to charge them individually before placing them in series.

Now my charge controller has stopped working just now, as I decided to go fiddling with stuff. chai

Please house, please tell me, did I fry my charge controller?

Wanted to take out the batteries, so I disconnected the charge controller from the battery, but when I reconnected it, the screen was just static.

Then I noticed that my battery voltage had climbed up to 67v which seems like direct panel voltage straight in to my battery.

Was I supposed to disconnect the solar from the charge controller before disconnecting the battery from the controller

so sad right now cry

my gel batteries are dead in just under a year.

talk about depressing cry

don't know if i should call police for the niggga that sold this shhh to me
wow, thats super sad. you need to investigate why the died, wrong inverter/cc charging..or they were already halfway dead prior to sale.

gel batteries are unforgiving to overcharging, as once the gel electrolyte dry off due to excessive charging current/voltage...then its game over..as the damage is irreversible....thats why i prefer agm batts. best of both worlds
